“The boss sent me a message. He is in the main city of Dyak, the Underworld Night City.”
“What does he have to say?”
“He said that level-5 sand salamanders have a 0.01% chance of having a formula for the instant health potion on them. This instant health potion is very important for establishing a trade union. We were asked to get as many of them as possible.”
“Only 0.01%. The percentage is a bit too low, and the sand salamanders are the kings of the monsters while having a low respawn rate.”
“We as the subordinates can’t do anything about that. We’ll try our best. As for whether we can get them, that depends on our luck.”
Xiao Yu glanced sideways at the two players chitchatting with each other; one of them was a ghost soldier, and the other was a dark wizard. The content of their discussion drew his attention. Instant health potion? This was something he needed as well. The next thing he had to do was kill those sand salamanders. Killing monsters two levels higher than him was a bit difficult, but he believed he could do it.
“I will go to the desert to look for the sand salamanders then,” Xiao Yu thought.
Strolling through the night market, Xiao Yu paid close attention to the conversations happening because he would often hear some useful information.
It was supper time, and so Xiao Yu left the game. Little Rain was already home and cooking dinner. She took off her white skirt and placed it neatly on the bed. She was wearing an old white shirt with patches on it, and her long hair was tied up behind her back. The plain clothing helped display a tender and pure air about her, but the loose white shirt couldn’t hide her wonderful shape.
Little Rain grew more and more attractive, and many male students probably pursued her at school. Thinking of this, Xiao Yu smiled slightly.
A few beads of sweat formed on Little Rain’s pale and clear face; it was probably because it was kind of hot in the kitchen. She wiped her spotless forehead with the back of her hand.
“Brother, you’re back,” she said delightfully when she saw Xiao Yu get up from the bed. Two shallow dimples appeared at the corners of her mouth as she pouted.
Little Rain was forever energetic and full of youthful energy. Her sweet smile made her look like an angel, helping Xiao Yu forget all of his troubles. She was the only family member he had in this world, the sole reason for him to live on. If he weren’t supported by this will, he probably wouldn’t have been able to stay alive until now.
“Hmm.”
“How did it go with the game?”
“Fine,” answered Xiao Yu. Speaking of the game, Xiao Yu couldn’t help but think of the two skills, backstabbing and evisceration. Why couldn’t he use them successfully after so many tries? Where was the problem? Thinking of the game, Xiao Yu was expectant but frustrated.
Little Rain brought the food to the table.
Xiao Yu always concentrated on a task and tried his best to complete it, regardless of what it was. Once he was interested in something, he would concentrate on it wholeheartedly, which was why he had even forgotten it was time to eat dinner.
Seeing the expression on Xiao Yu’s face, Little Rain thought that he probably hadn’t done so well in the game. She didn’t bother him and let him think. She looked at him with a dazed look in her eye while leaning her chin on her hand.
“Brother, I believe in you.” Her appealing eyes were covered with a thin layer of light haze, full of admiration. In the eyes of Little Rain, Xiao Yu was someone who could do anything if he put his mind to it. He was always acting like a big tree, blocking the wind for her and keeping her warm.
“What did you say?” asked Xiao Yu after he came back to his senses.
“Don’t worry about it now. You’re almost married to the game. Time to eat dinner,” said Little Rain, pouting her small mouth playfully.
Hearing this, Xiao Yu smiled warmly and scratched the tip of her nose affectionately.
“Let’s eat,” he said.
Little Rain crinkled her nose to show her displeasure, but two shallow dimples showed on her cheeks.
After dinner, Xiao Yu entered the game again. It was early morning in the game world.
He went to the NPC store and bought 10 pieces of bread of the lowest grade with one silver coin. Bread was an item that could help recover your health. If one lost a large amount of health after killing monsters, they could sit down and eat the bread to increase their health, thus increasing their monster-killing proficiency. A player shouldn’t be cheap with this sort of item.
Xiao Yu headed straight to the respawning area of the sand salamanders. The sand salamanders were the kind of monsters that were slow to respawn. Because the players were at a low level at the moment, the number of sand salamanders was still quite large. If he waited until the other players leveled up, then he would have a hard time finding and killing sand salamanders.
To maintain the advantage of a higher level, he had no choice but to act before most of the players. Otherwise, it would seriously affect the speed of his progress if he had to kill monsters at the same time as everybody else.
Xiao Yu took a look at the skill panel and found that he hadn’t used the two skills of evisceration and backstabbing yet. This was always his worry. These two skills were very important; he needed to try his best to use them even if he couldn’t perform them successfully.
In comparison to the skill of evisceration, the backstabbing skill was a little easier. He wondered what the relationship between backstabbing and reversed backstabbing was and also if he could rely on his rotating force to backstab the enemy.
Thinking of this, Xiao Yu decided to give it a try, his eyes beaming with inspiration.
He approached a sand salamander by using stealth travel and jabbed his dagger downwards to penetrate the back of the sand salamander’s head. Lastly, he knocked the monster unconscious with a sneak attack.
Xiao Yu slightly turned his body sideways and completed a 30-degree rotation. Then, he relied on the rotating force to jab the dagger into the sand salamander’s body with all his might.
Hiss!!!
The dagger plunged into the body of the sand salamander.
A damage value of more than 20 points emerged from the head of the sand salamander.
System: the success rate of backstabbing is 63%, causing 68% skill damage, gaining one combo attack.
Though the success rate was not high, it was nevertheless his first time completing the backstabbing skill; it was a significant personal achievement for him!
After the backstabbing skill, Xiao Yu slashed it many times. As the sand salamander turned around and was about to attack him, Xiao Yu dodged it by turning his body sideways and then used the reversed backstabbing skill again. The dagger in his hand successfully broke through the shell on the salamander’s back with a 100% success rate.
The combo attacks had caused more than 160 points of damage to the sand salamander.
Xiao Yu used the sticky tactic to exhaust the health of the sand salamander. By the time Xiao Yu had 78% health left, the weakened sand salamander had collapsed to the ground.
He would be really powerful if he could use all the skills in a row. In doing so, it would be an easy task to kill the higher-level monsters. Xiao Yu felt excited about this discovery. However, what did it mean when he gained one combo attack point after completing the skill of backstabbing? Did it have something to do with the classifications of combo attacks and lethal attacks?
