Chapter 9: Found It
The wolfdog’s abnormal behavior quickly attracted the surrounding disciples. In a short 10 minutes, there were already more than 20 people and wolfdogs gathered under the big tree Song Zhi was in. She looked down with difficulty and saw the wolfdog’s fangs. Her vision went black.
It’s over, it’s over. She’s really going to die here.
Just as Song Zhi was wailing in her heart, a disciple had already called for the elder. The elder stared at the big tree in front of him for a moment, his narrowed eyes flashing with a dangerous light. “Who’s there?”
No one answered.
“If you come out now, I can spare your life.” the elder said.
Song Zhi was a little tempted, but when she saw the wolfdogs staring at her, she instantly gave up the idea. What a joke, these dogs looked like they had been fed raw meat since they were young. The moment she went down, she would be like a sheep entering the tiger’s mouth and instantly torn to pieces.
The elder did not get a reply for a long time. He sneered and raised his hand. The Purple Cloud Sword Sect disciples released their ropes. The wolfdogs rushed to the tree and started biting the air. Although in the eyes of the crowd, the wolfdogs were only tearing at her. To Song Zhi, every bite was aimed at her. There were a few times when their noses even touched her clothes!
Song Zhi was scared to death. Her arms that were hugging the tree started to lose strength and her entire body slid down uncontrollably. The wolfdog that could only touch the corner of her clothes initially was almost touching her feet. The wolfdogs seemed to have noticed that she was running out of energy and started to attack her feet. There were a few times when Song Zhi could feel the cold and hard fangs of the wolfdogs through the soles of her shoes.
Song Zhi thought about how she had finally gotten out of her vegetative state. She had only lived for a few days and was about to die under a dog’s mouth again. She thought that the book would give her a second life, but it only gave her a second way to die! Song Zhi’s hand that was holding onto the tree trunk trembled more and more, and the speed at which she was sliding down increased.
Just as Song Zhi was about to fall into the pack of wolfdogs, a leisurely voice suddenly sounded. “I found it.”
Everyone who was staring at the pack of dogs turned their heads at the same time and saw Mo Xiuyao walking out of the dense forest slowly towards the pack of wolfdogs. He seemed to have some kind of aura around him, and wherever he went, everyone gave way to him. Even the wolfdogs that were madly biting at her made way for him. One of the bolder wolfdogs was still ready to move, but after being glanced at by Mo Xiuyao, it suddenly let out a whine and slowly took two steps back with its head lowered.
Mo Xiuyao looked up and caught a rabbit from the tree branch in front of everyone. When the rabbit was caught, Song Zhi could even feel his slender fingers brushing past her clothes. Her back suddenly tightened and her heart beat like a drum, afraid that he would suddenly pull her down.
“He actually hid here.” Mo Xiuyao grabbed the rabbit and smiled faintly. “I just raised a rabbit recently. Sorry for the embarrassment.”
“So we were looking for rabbits just now?” One of the disciples muttered.
The elder sneered and looked at Mo Xiuyao, “I didn’t know that rabbits could climb trees.”
“This is a rabbit that I raised, of course it can climb trees.” Mo Xiuyao touched the rabbit’s fur, his slender fingers looming in the white fur.
“You!” The elder was furious.
“Take care, I won’t send you off.” Mo Xiuyao picked up the rabbit and looked at it for a moment before holding it in his arms with satisfaction. He did not give face to the elder time and time again, and the elder’s expression was very ugly. He was about to say something, but Mo Xiuyao suddenly looked over with his long and narrow eyes cold. The elder suddenly quivered and turned away with a dark face. Seeing this, the other disciples followed behind with their dogs. The disciples who were close to the elder asked in a low voice, “Elder, are we just going to leave like this?”
“If you didn’t find anything, why are you still staying here?” The elder sneered. Mo Xiuyao is a madman. Even though he has lost all his cultivation in this place, he is still a dangerous madman.
“But we still haven’t found out anything unusual about the Demon’s Note Valley,” the disciple said worriedly.
“Pass down the order. From today onwards, there will be 300 more guards outside the Demon’s Note Valley. They will take turns to guard it 24 hours a day, and use the Vajra barrier to strengthen the outer barrier. If anyone really sneaks into the Demon’s Note Valley, then let him be locked up with Mo Xiuyao until the end of time.” The elder sneered.
“Yes.” The disciple quickly responded.
“Also, the disciples of The Purple Cloud Sword Sect are not allowed to step into the Demon’s Note Valley. Those who disobey will be expelled from the sect,” the elder added.
