Chapter 36 Tragic
Soon, the Knights Legion charged to the Battlefield of Caesar and came face to face with the Goblins.
The Holy Light Adjudicator saw the Goblins in front of him and frowned.
He sensed a sense of danger from these fierce creatures.
Furthermore, there were far more of them. It would probably be a bitter battle.
However, this did not make the Holy Light Adjudicator feel the slightest bit of fear.
He immediately asked Anthony beside him.
“Were these the Goblins who attacked the City at the time?”
Anthony glanced over, his eyes flashing at the dark mass of the Goblin army.
Then, he definitely said, “That’s right, it’s these guys! In this Demonic Forest, these guys are the strongest and the bravest! Even if you lend courage to the other races, they won’t dare to attack the Kaidi City! Only Goblins dare to do this!”
“Lord Holy Light Adjudicator, I’m willing to be the vanguard and kill these evil demons!”
in
An angry look came over Anthony’s face. At the same time, waves of hatred welled up his eyes as he looked at the Goblins.
He had to admit that his acting skills were superb.
After seeing his performance, Andrew did not question otherwise.
At the same time, the battle intent in his heart quickly reached its peak.
Therefore, he waved his hand and shouted loudly, “Knights, it’s time to charge! These demonic creatures in front of us are our enemies. Let us avenge our dead brothers!”
As Andrew’s voice spread, all the knights’ fighting spirit instantly soared.
At the same time, an earth-shattering cheer responded.
“Avenge our brothers!”
“Charge!” Anthony gave the order to charge just in time.
Then, as he had said, he took the lead and was
the first to charge at the Goblins.
Like a flood of steel, the riders behind him charged toward the center of the battlefield, following his horse.
A major battle was imminent.
Andrew, observing from the rear of the
battlefield, was pleased with Anthony’s performance.
“This boy is indeed worthy of being the First Knight. Border cities are indeed capable of tempering people! It’s not bad that such a brave knight was born in a small city like Kaidi!”
And when the riders charged, the Goblins recovered from their momentary shock.
“Damn the Fallen Alliance, they actually colluded with Humans! Hmph! A mere two thousand Human soldiers want to fight my Goblin army of ten thousand! They’re courting death!”
“Stretch out your mighty claws and bare your
fangs, brothers! Charge!”
Both sides rushed toward the center of the battlefield at breakneck speed.
In a short moment, earth-shattering shouts and sounds of battle resounded through the
sky.
After the four of them started killing, the Goblin Leader immediately looked shocked. It wasn’t as if they hadn’t fought the soldiers
of Kaidi City before.
But those guys’ strength was nothing. Moreover, those guys drank and had fun all year round. They were even more timid.
However, the guys they encountered today were all abnormally fierce and their combat strength was off the charts.
Usually, a Knight could kill four or five
Goblins in the blink of an eye with a sweep of
his spear.
On the other hand, it would take several Goblins to kill a Knight.
Not to mention their powerful combat
strength, just the armor they were wearing was extremely difficult to break. “That’s impossible! Where did this Human army come from? Why are they so
powerful?!”
The Goblin Leader’s mind roared in question.
Seeing his clansmen die one by one, his eyes quickly turned red.
At first, the speculation about the conspiracy
of this war rose in his heart, but it was instantly covered by rage.
He joined the battle himself and began a frenzied massacre.
The Goblin Leader was a Seventh Realm
expert. He was almost invincible among the Knights.
The mace in his hand could smash a Knight’s body every time he swung it.
Anthony had long since given the Goblin Leader a wide berth.
But the ignorant Knights kept charging at them like moths to a flame.
The anomaly caused by the Goblin Leader quickly caught Andrew’s attention.
His eyes went cold.
“Hmph! How dare you slaughter my Knights!
You’re courting death!”
Andrew snorted and immediately raised his spear. He threw it without looking. However, with such a casual throw, his silver spear crossed endless space in the blink of an eye like a bolt of silver lightning and accurately found the leader of the Goblins.
Moreover, the long spear seemed to have eyes
of its own as it passed through the dense Human gaps.
It didn’t hurt any of the knights or riders. It
stabbed the Goblin Leader squarely in the
heart.
The powerful impact sent the Goblin Leader’s body flying back for several miles.
It finally stopped after smashing through a
boulder.
At this point, the Goblin Leader died.
After seeing their clan leader killed, the
Goblin soldiers roared in anger and panicked.
Faced with the leaderless Goblins, the Knights were suddenly unstoppable. Killing these Goblins quickly.
The entire war had lasted only four or five
hours. Nearly ten thousand Goblins were killed!
Andrew finally smiled as he saw what he’d accomplished.
“It’s just a group of demonic creatures. Even
if they are smart, in front of absolute strength, they are nothing!”
With that, he pulled on the reins and turned
his horse towards the city.
It seemed that annihilating the Goblins was a
trivial matter to him. Anthony was relieved to see Andrew go.
Fortunately, he did not press him about the other races.
Nor did he choose to go to the Goblin’s territory. Otherwise, once they encountered someone with a slightly clearer mind, there would
probably be loopholes in today’s situation. Leaving suited Anthony just fine. So he quickly arranged for the surviving Knights to clean up the battlefield and bring back the bodies of the fallen ones. Then, he led the legion back to the city.
This battle was exceptionally tragic. Although the Goblin soldiers were completely wiped out, the casualties of the battle could not be underestimated.
Of the original two thousand knights, less
than a thousand remained.
But the death of an ordinary Knight meant nothing to Andrew.
All he wanted was to keep up with appearance.
When he returned to Kaidi City, Andrew was
delighted by the victory.
And personally requested credit for Anthony.
The Holy Empire quickly sent an envoy to crown Anthony as the new Baron. And serve as City Lord.
When it was over, Andrew returned to the
Empire with several carts of treasures from Anthony.
Meanwhile, the headquarters of the Fallen
Alliance was filled with a joyous atmosphere. “Hahahaha! With the two crises resolved at once, we can rest easy for the time being!”
Lucian sat at the head of the table and beamed.
He was relatively calm. The patriarchs sitting below could barely suppress the excitement
on their faces.
