After several days of stalking, Yun Fanxing was finally discovered.
Qi He’s friends said in puzzlement, “Hey, Qi He! Isn’t she the idiot who sits in the back row in our class?”
The others chimed in.
“I think it’s her.”
“Why is she following us?”
“She has been following us for the past two days. Initially, I thought that I was mistaken. She kept stealing glances at Qi He. Is she secretly in love with Qi He like the rest of the girls?”
Qi He raised his hand and took a puff from his cigarette. He turned his head around impatiently.
The others began to taunt and jeer. “Would a fool have a secret crush on someone? Qi He, you are incredibly attractive!”
“Cut the crap! Let’s go home.”
Qi He caught a glimpse of the colorful hair clips on Fanxing’s hair. What a blinding sight that burned his eyes!
What the heck! Was she trying to summon a rainbow with all the colors in her hair?
Qi He’s house was a short distance away from Fanxing’s grandmother’s house. Consequently, after everyone parted ways, only Qi He and Fanxing, who was still dawdling, were left on the path.
Initially, Qi He had no intention of talking to that little idiot.
However, she was like a lingering soul who refused to depart.
She tailed him quietly at a leisurely pace behind him. But the moment Qi He turned his head, he would catch sight of that head of colorful hair clips.
Qi He recalled what his friends had said earlier on about that idiot having a crush on him.
Suddenly, his heart felt as though it was being smothered. He was merely 13 years old. It was an insult to be liked by an idiot!
For this, Qi He halted his footsteps. He waited till Fanxing strolled over to him before he blocked her path.
Fanxing was still chewing on gum when she raised her head.
Qi He glared at her fiercely. She was bewildered as she stared back at him with her pitch-black eyes. In her heart, she pondered to herself, How should I care for him?
“If you continue to follow me, I will burn down your house!” Qi He lowered his voice and threatened her harshly.
After he finished, he swept past Fanxing like a gust of wind.
Although he might be a weakling who hadn’t been evolved, he still had the aura of a domineering tyrant.
Fanxing stood rooted to the spot before she came to her senses. She spoke to Soul Searching Spirit, “His temper doesn’t seem to be too good.”
Soul Searching Spirit replied, ‘Indeed!’
God of War was brutal and powerful. After all, since ancient times, he was the first man to whom all men had to bow before. Would he need to be amicable?
Absolutely no need!
“When a child isn’t obedient…” Fanxing frowned as she pondered. She seemed to be thinking of the next line.
After some time, she finally found the answer. “Most likely, he was spoiled…
“So… a beating should do the trick.”
‘Hold on! Who are you trying to hit? This idea seems atrocious! Aren’t you supposed to be dumb? Where did you learn this from?’
“Xingxing, what did that rascal, Qi He, tell you? Did he ask you for money?” An old woman clutching her walking stick darted swiftly toward Fanxing.
Her skin was as wrinkled as dried tree bark, but the expression in her eyes was benevolent.
“Grandmother, have a sweet.” Fanxing gave the old woman a sweet and grinned happily back at her. The old woman held Fanxing’s hand as they walked back to the house.
“Let me tell you this! Qi He is a hooligan! If he dares to bully you, tell me. I will use my walking stick to break his legs!”
Grandmother was definitely serious, and she even dragged Fanxing to Qi He’s house.
Qi He was someone who lived alone. His grandparents had passed away, and his father had given some money to a relative so that he could take care of Qi He. He didn’t care as long as Qi He didn’t die of starvation.
The old woman looked formidable and fierce as she banged on Qi He’s door with her walking stick.
Qi He opened the door, and Grandmother muttered something to herself. After that, she chided him, “Let me warn you! It doesn’t matter if your parents didn’t teach you. I don’t care if you become a hooligan! But don’t you dare bully my Fanxing! If you bully her, I will get Village Head to chase you away!”
Everyone in the village knew that Qi He wasn’t a good boy. After all, he spent most of his time idling away.
Thus, practically every family with children was quite hostile towards him.
Qi He retorted casually, “Old woman, did you witness me bullying her? What I dislike most is to be someone else’s scapegoat. I have never bullied her in the past, but in the future, I will bully her to the best of my ability! I will beat her up every time I see her!”
Grandmother waved her walking stick in the direction of Qi He.
“You’re a rascal with no proper upbringing! You didn’t learn anything good and even tried to harm the villagers!”
As the saying went, poor and horrible places yielded terrible people.
Yun Fanxing’s grandmother was very nice to her and was kind and benevolent. However, her protectiveness also meant that she could be quite unreasonable, and she liked to take advantage of her seniority.
Qi He clenched his fists. Actually, he could send this old lady flying with a kick.
But for some unknown reason, he merely grabbed the walking stick and snatched it away. He flung it to the ground.
“Idiot, just you wait!” After he spat out a threat to Fanxing, he spun around and shut the door.
Throughout the first nine years of his life, Qi He led the privileged life of a rich young master. Arrogance and pride flowed in his blood, and so, he couldn’t bring himself to bicker with an old village lady.
The old woman stood outside his door and berated him for some time. She was still unsatisfied despite attracting the attention of some villagers.
Actually, there were already some warning signs that Qi He was going to be led astray in the future.
No one bestowed any kindness on him. Almost everyone was seemingly hostile and fearful of him as they speculated maliciously about him. Whether it was his father or his stepmother or the villagers…
Everyone treated him with prejudice and discrimination.
