Chapter 24: Little Childhood Sweetheart Is Quite Feisty (Part 24)
When Qi He saw the person, his face fell.
Qi Sheng was staying in a hotel in the vicinity. He was too used to the bustling city life, and when he suddenly came to this quiet town, he couldn’t fall asleep. So, he came down for a walk.
Fanxing didn’t raise her head.
This meal of roasted skewers seemed to have opened a brand new door in her culinary world.
The skewered beef was delicious, and so was the lamb and the pork. Incredibly, the roasted corn-cob pieces and tomatoes tasted good too!
How could vegetables taste better than meat?
“Is this the girl who is living with you?”
Qi Sheng stood and towered over them as he peered down at Fanxing’s head. His tone was full of disdain and contempt.
What he minded the most were the first few years of his life as an illegitimate son. He could only be hidden then.
Before his mother’s status became official, he had once caught a glimpse of Qi He. In comparison, he had been just like an unwanted rat, who could only admire and be jealous of Qi He.
But now, finally, he had become the legitimate son.
But why did Qi He still look at him with such a complicated expression?
He looked as if he was observing something that was beneath him.
Both of them stared at each other.
Neither refused to bow or give way.
Little Chief was completely unaffected by this atmosphere. Taking advantage of when Qi He wasn’t looking, she extended her hands silently to pull Qi He’s fried noodles toward her.
She bent her head and dug in.
No matter how hard you studied, the results might still disappoint you. But if she worked hard to eat, the food wouldn’t fail her.
“Qi He, this is what you will ever be in this life. Do you still remember what you said to me when I first stepped into the Qi family?”
“An illegitimate son will always be illegitimate. You will never raise your head high, and don’t dream that you would ever succeed in life.” Qi Sheng had remembered vividly and would never forget it as long as he lived! “Look at me, then take a good look at yourself. How different are you from a piece of trash?”
Qi He didn’t respond, but he had clenched his fists. No matter how composed he appeared to be, he was after all a teenager. Besides, every word that Qi Sheng had spoken felt like him assaulting his Achilles heel.
Qi He’s breaths became hurried. His eyelids lowered, and darkness filled his eyes. It was as if a storm was brewing.
At this time, Fanxing quietly stacked the empty metal plates and burped…
She had finished eating.
Little Chief might be dim-witted, but she nonetheless felt guilty at this moment. She had finished all the food, without leaving a morsel for Qi He.
It didn’t seem too nice.
Fanxing stretched her hand and poked Qi He’s waist. She said sweetly and softly, “Qi He, I feel like eating more.”
Soul Searching Spirit felt that this fool had become smarter. After observing her all these years, this was the conclusion.
Look at her. When she wasn’t feeling guilty, she would sound domineering and assertive despite her lack of emotion.
“Qi He, I want to eat snakes.”
“Qi He, I want to eat fried locusts.”
“I want…”
But once she realized that she had gone overboard or felt guilty, she would sound as if she was willing to discuss.
Hadn’t she become smarter?
Qi He and Qi Sheng were still staring at each other confrontationally, and their eyes were shooting daggers at each other. It seemed as though they would hit each other at any time.
However, the spell was broken when she poked Qi He’s waist.
Hold on. He shall order more food for this little idiot before settling scores with Qi Sheng.
“Ten beef skewers and one more plate of eggplant. Five plates of baked potatoes…”
