The system’s voice sounded unpleasant, even a bit cold.
However, at this moment, Bai Jiang’s heart was not focused on the system’s proposal to treat 1,000 patients within 150 days. Even the words “space collapse” couldn’t distract Bai Jiang.
She was filled with joy. Since the space wasn’t collapsing, she planned to make good use of the Spirit Spring Water.
The people around saw Bai Jiang’s fluctuating emotions, from being lost to suddenly excited, and they became puzzled.
“Miss, what’s wrong?”
“Are you feeling unwell? Should we take you to the hospital?” someone asked.
Bai Jiang snapped back to reality and smiled warmly.
“No need. Have you all forgotten that I’m a doctor? Today, something happy happened at home, so I want to close up early and go back to see it.”
Seeing that Bai Jiang was fine, everyone quickly asked, “Young girl, will you come tomorrow?”
“I won’t be coming for the next few days. I’ll take a rest at home for two or three days. If any of you need me, please come to Ancient Wind Village in three days. I will set up a clinic there,” Bai Jiang informed them.
When they heard that Bai Jiang wanted to open a clinic, no one said anything because this young girl had already mentioned that her stall in town was only to increase her reputation.
In the past few days, everyone had witnessed Bai Jiang’s good medical skills. Her popularity had increased, so it was normal for her to go back and open a clinic.
“In Ancient Wind Village? Then I’ll come to find you in three days!” someone said happily.
Bai Jiang packed up her stall and headed home. When she arrived, she shared her plan to open a clinic with her parents.
Xu Hua wasn’t entirely supportive, but Bai Shu was delighted.
He believed that if his daughter could cure his illness, it meant she could open a clinic. Wasn’t that a wonderful addition?
“When will it open?” Bai Shu asked.
“Dad, I plan to build the clinic in the back mountains. There’s a mountain caretaker’s house there, so I’ll temporarily convert it into a clinic. Then, I’ll hire someone to build a new one not far from there,” Bai Jiang explained.
After giving it some thought, Bai Jiang decided that there was no rush to build the clinic. She would invest her money in her father’s restaurant for now.
Once the restaurant started making a profit, she would allocate the earnings to establish the clinic.
Of course, when the clinic was ready, she would hire a pharmacist and an accountant.
All of these plans were for the future and not urgent.
After considering everything, Bai Jiang hired an excavator to dig the back mountains and asked the villagers to help supervise the work. Then, she went to town with Bai Shu to look at potential shop locations.
“Dad, have you found any suitable shops these past few days?” Bai Jiang asked.
“Yes, there are several! The prices are similar, but I can’t decide. I thought of waiting for you to come and decide together,” Bai Shu replied.
Bai Jiang nodded and walked with Bai Shu to several shops they were interested in. Bai Jiang immediately decided on a shop next to a fruit shop.
“Oh, I knew you would choose this one!” Bai Shu said with a smile.
“Why?” Bai Jiang asked.
“Because this shop is right next to the fruit shop, our restaurant won’t compete for business with them, and there won’t be any friction between neighbors. The other shops had good locations, but there are already several restaurants in the area.”
“If we had chosen one of those places, it wouldn’t matter if others did well, but what if we succeeded? Would the neighbors be envious? Would they try to undermine us?”
Bai Jiang didn’t argue with Bai Shu’s words.
She didn’t want to think poorly of human nature, but human nature was the most difficult thing to understand.
“Jiang’er, what do you think?” Bai Shu asked again.
Bai Jiang nodded. “Okay, let’s choose this one,” Bai Jiang said.
After signing the contract and paying the rent, they went home with the keys to the shop.
Xu Hua’s eyes widened when she saw the contract.
“Wait, why did you pay a year’s rent upfront? Did you get a lot of money? If it weren’t for my advice, would you have bought the shop instead?” Xu Hua asked, her eyes wide open.
Bai Jiang pursed her lips. Yes, she did want to buy it, but the shop owner refused to sell it, otherwise, it would have been theirs.
Thinking about this, Bai Jiang felt a tinge of regret.
“Alright, alright. The shop is about to open, we’ll think about how to decorate it in the next few days,” Bai Shu quickly intervened. “Since we’ve already rented it, we can’t back out, can we?”
“Dad, I don’t think it needs to be too complicated. We’ll focus on medicinal cuisine and serve breakfast and lunch for now. We can consider dinner later if things go well. If not, we don’t have to overwork ourselves,” Bai Jiang said.
