10 : First Make – 1
“Let’s see, this goes here……”
What I was trying to make was a bag to carry all my obtained item comfortably from here on out.
There was nothing convenient like an inventory in CNP, so while carrying items, the difference in having a bag or not was as clear as day.
Especially when it came to large materials.
Speaking of, currently, I would dismantle a defeated Poisonous Bite Rat there on the spot and get things such as fangs or bones. Since a while ago, I’ve had to go through the trouble of properly placing those materials aside whenever I entered combat, but if I had a bag, it would make carrying things easier and depending on the situation, I’d possibly be able to fight while carrying the bag as is.
I haven’t encountered a situation like that yet, but there will definitely be one in the inevitable future so there’s no harm in preparing.
“I thought it’d be doable if the framework was simple, but it’s surprisingly hard isn’t it.”
In CNP, skills didn’t really exist.
Neither for combat or production.
So, in order to create an item in this instance, you had no other choice but to combine and connect various things through manual labor.
“Nn? Did it just take shape somehow?”
With that, I formed the Poisonous Bite Rat’s pelt into the shape of a sack, then laid out its thin bones and the lower jaw along the bottom. Lastly, I tied everything together with the cables to finalize the bag.
A cable was used in place of a string for the opening, making it easy to deposit and withdraw items.
Also, if I connected it to the other long cable coiled around my waist, the bag could be hung on the waist.
“Well, guess I’ll appraise it now.”
I turned and used the『Appraisal Loupe』towards the direction of the completed bag.
Even if this was a non-skill, manual labor focused VR game, normally at this point the item should be renamed and systematically changed into a bag.
“Nn?”
However, the result of the appraisal just displayed the pelt of the Poisonous Bite Rat and the cable instead of a bag.
The shape was definitely a bag, but it seemed like the system didn’t recognize it as one yet.
“Aah, I see. There was a grudge table here wasn’t there.
So how does one make a bag?
The answer was already settled.
You just have to curse it.
The Poisonous Bite Rat only had curse stored in its spirit and the front tooth, but even so, it was able to become an entity without having disintegrated.
My blood and flesh probably weren’t endowed with any curse’s energy, but I still needed to be wary of absorbing any further curses.
All you had to do was curse the whole bag so it gets redefined as a single object.
“Now then, I wonder how it’ll turn out.”
I placed the bag on the Concrete Table of Grudge.
If it follows in accordance with what the『Appraisal Loupe』has seen, the inanimate bag should get a curse implanted into it.
“Nn? Hmm…… The fog is moving….. Ah but, the air isn’t.”
It was a strange sight.
A red, black, and purple mix of cursed fog could be seen moving throughout the surrounding air.
Not only that, but it slowly gathers at the grudge table, then shifts from the grudge table towards the bag.
Little by little, the bag was being engulfed in a dense mist. At this rate, the bag wouldn’t be visible in the near future because of the concealing fog.
“Which reminds me, I wonder if it will acquire a strange ability from being cursed.”
I recall back to the Poisonous Bite Rat’s front tooth and my own wings.
The Poisonous Bite Rat’s front tooth had the ability to produce poison using the surrounding curse.
And even when considering the size of my wings and levitation, propelling against the air seems to have a bigger impact on my body than how it really should. As I thought, there was some kind of curse being used after all.
If so, the bag that’s being cursed as of the moment may also potentially gain an unusual power.
“In any case, if its going to obtain an ability, I’d like for it to be a curse that acts similar to an inventory that I could use.”
Due to the size and strength of the bag I made, ultimately, it was limited to carrying front teeth.
If I were to store objects with exceeding weight akin to the rebar with attached concrete, it seemed like it would damage the bag.
Coincidentally, by spreading out the bones at the bottom of the bag, the front teeth will pierce through the bottom without damaging it. It’s designed in a way so it doesn’t fall out of the bag, but the sides don’t have the same setup. In short, there were various uncertainties.
With that in mind, what I wanted was definitely those inventories that were commonly seen. The ones which had no difficulties concerning item weight or the object’s movements inside of them.
“If I pray for it, maybe it’ll steer the curse towards that sort of direction. Let’s try it out I guess.”
To begin with, a curse was an art that relied heavily on strong negative human emotions…… I believe.
In reality there might’ve been all sorts of factors, but there was no doubt that the root part of it was human thoughts, right?
And if the full-dive VR game reads human brain waves, it should be able to read thoughts themselves.
Yep, I feel like this could work.
“Inventory…… Inventory…… Inventory……”
My 13 eyes aimed towards the bag which was mostly covered in the fog and my desire for an inventory was spun out from my mouth
“Inventory…… Inventory…… Inventory……”
It was only a little bit, really just a little bit, but I sensed that the feeling of the fog changed.
So I started to send more of my thoughts, stronger than I did previously. I continued to mutter about inventories like a broken doll.
“Inventory…… Inventory…… Inventory……”
The fog swirls and the entire bag becomes unable to be seen.
Thanks to my 13 eyes blinking separately, this change wasn’t overlooked.
I was able to keep gazing at the fog freely while continuing to wish for the inventory.
“Invent-…… Ah!?”
A light began to spark abruptly from within the fog, causing all my eyes to reflexively shut.
“Umm……”
I then opened my eyes.
The fog produced on top of the grudge table dissipated and the bag that I made was sitting there on top of the table seemingly unchanged.
“For now, I’ll retrieve it.”
I grabbed the bag by its opening and placed it down on the floor.
≪Title, “First Cursed Production” has been acquired≫
“Ah, a title was obtained.”
The notification rang, giving me info that I’ve obtained a new title. So for the time being, I used the『Appraisal Loupe』on myself to examine the details of the title.

『First Cursed Production』
Effect : None
Requirement : Use the grudge table to produce an item.
You’ve taken the first step in creating cursed items.

“Effect none. Well, its a commemorative title, and I guess this means this was the correct way to create an item.”
I point the『Appraisal Loupe』in the direction of the bag.
I’m glad I figured out the method for creating items and that was important in itself, but the most important thing now was this item right here.

Poisonous Bite Rat’s Fur Bag
Level : 1
Durability : 100/100
Interference : 100
Corruption : 100/100

A bag crafted from combining the materials of a Poisonous Bite Rat
No matter how sharp or heavy the object is, it will become docile once placed inside of the bag.
You can fit more items inside than what meets the eye.
Caution : Materials that are stored inside for over 24 ingame hours will be terminated.
Caution : If you forget what material was placed inside, that material cannot be retrieved.

“……”
After witnessing the results of the appraisal, I tried putting the rebar with attached concrete into the bag for now.
I held the bag just to see but it had the exact same weight as when I took it off the grudge table. The rebar with attached concrete’s weight had disappeared.
Then, when I reached inside to extract the rebar with attached concrete, I was able to take it out normally.
“…… I just got an inventory didn’t I.”
I had a feeling it could be done, but didn’t think that I was actually going to do it…… Was the logic behind CNP’s production system not as fuzzy as I thought and rather easy?
No, perhaps it just prioritized user-friendliness and made creating an inventory easier for convenience sake.
Yeah, let’s determine the level of difficulty after we create something else.
“I don’t know the full capacity of this bag yet, huh.”
Regarding the capacity, I felt like I could fit all of the Poisonous Bite Rat pelts and bones in the bag right now and still have some room left over.
If I’m exploring its limits…… Should I try to store the Poisonous Bite Rat’s dead body in there?
“Any disadvantages of doing so…… I suppose there wouldn’t be any problem in particular.”
I took everything out of the bag.
The items would be deleted after 24 hours, but if that’s the case, before logging out you could just unload the contents inside of the bag like this while in the safety area.
If its inside the safety area, no other players or monsters will come and natural disasters should be irrelevant too.
I was curious as to how CNP deals with items that are left on the field, however……. That’s something to confirm when I don’t have any significant items on me.
That is to say, as long as I don’t forget the contents of the bag, this should basically be an inventory without virtually any demerits.
“Okay, let’s make some other items as well.”
After being satisfied with the result of the finished Poisonous Bite Rat’s fur bag, I picked up 2 of the Poisonous Bite Rat’s front teeth.
Next was weapon creation.
