44 : Venomulard – 1
“Phew, at long last.”
“Chuu”
I started knitting the dangling meat fern flower vines on Friday while taking breaks and collecting more materials in between my work. On Saturday night, it finally managed to take shape.
With that said, I tried spreading it out inside the safety area.
“Yep, it’s a great-looking net.”
What I created was a net made of out dangling meat fern flower vines woven into a lattice shape.
I’d like to call it a cloth, but there were subtle gaps, it was uneven, and pretty roughly patched together, so I referred to it as a net instead.
Also, the ends of some of the vines were covered in moss so that they could be stuck to walls, ceilings, or floors.
Of course, when I was still in the process of knitting, I already checked to make sure that the vines wouldn’t wilt even if I stuck the moss on the vines to the floor.
“Now, to the grudge table.”
I rolled up the dangling meat fern flower net and set it on top of the grudge table, hoping to increase its strength and to keep monsters from bypassing it wherever I decide to put it up at.
Yep, it was one of the counter-measures that I’d thought up of for Venomulard.
This was my answer to his rat underlings that will certainly appear and attack from somewhere once he calls on them.
Undeniably, there were countless holes in it, but I believe the odds of me winning will largely differ depending on whether or not I had this net.
“And it’s done.”
I gave the finished product a quick appraisal.

Dangling Meat Fern Flower Vine Net
Level : 5
Durability : 100/100

Corruption : 100/100
Abnormalities : 10
A net woven out of the vines of a dangling meat fern flower along with its leaves and moss.
It has the property of greatly increasing its strength depending on the curse concentration around it and if you apply it effectively, you can stick the moss at the end of the vine anywhere you want, obstructing anything that wishes to go past it.

“Okay, doesn’t look like there’s anything wrong with it.”
No strange abilities or any costs, just the properties that the dangling meat fern flower originally had on it.
It took quite a while to make, but I can at least say that it was an item that seemed really easy to use.
“Next time, maybe I’ll make my clothes out of woven vines too…”
Moreover, I feel like my speed and accuracy when it came to knitting the dangling meat fern flower vines had improved a lot after all this, so perhaps I could come up with some sort of clothing that would intertwine rat fur and vines together.
Then again, I don’t know how long that would take and I have other things planned, so I’ll have to put it aside for now.
“Well then, besides that… poison receiving bags were important too and I want a few of those.”
I used the materials from the Poisonous Bite Rats and Poison Spitting Rats to make several poison receiving bags.
Naturally, this will also serve as a counter-measure for Venomulard.
Essentially, I plan on fighting within range of my rat flail and keeping my distance to a certain extent, but I’m sure he’ll release that poison mist and spit out those poison cannonballs again, so I wanted to prepare at least one way of dealing with those attacks.
“Other than that, I also want an item that clears the poison status and… an AoE attack?”
Now, what else did I want to have in terms of items for the fight against Venomulard?
I pretty much gathered the weapons and armor that I needed.
I had items that restored my HP and satiety.
The net was finished too.
Which means… what I needed now was an item that could cleanse poison, an AoE attack in case his underlings are the type to teleport in instead, and a way to inflict another status effect that wasn’t poison.
I think that’s about it.
Hmm, I could manage the poison antidote somehow, but the rest would be tough.
Maybe I could transmute the Poisonous Bite Rat’s venom so that the effect remains, or possibly acquire a new evil eye?
Though compared to the latter option, I feel like the former would increase the cost and risks to the point where it’d be too much to bear.
I mean, if I’m gonna go through with it, I should use the Poison Spitting Rat’s venom as a base and make it a throwable object that’ll affect living things in contact with the ground within a certain range.
“I guess that’s all.”
With that said, I placed the poison receiving bag consisting of Poison Spitting Rat venom on top of the grudge table and tried creating what I had in mind.
“If it hits something, it’ll explode.”
A red, black and purple fog begins to gather.
I stared at it with my 13 eyes and spun my words together.
“The contents will splatter and inflict poison.”
Its purpose was extremely simple.
The image I was visualizing was something like a grenade of sorts.
“At any rate, I just needed to dwindle their numbers down.”
The main targets were specifically the Young Poisonous Rats.
With Poisonous Bite Rats and Poison Spitting Rats, if worse comes to worst, I could always run around them, using their own bodies as cover to protect against attacks and gradually fire off『Magic Eye Of Poison・1++』to lessen their numbers to a certain extent, but this would be difficult to do against the Young Poisonous Rats.
So, this was what I was aiming for.
The result was…
“No good, huh.”
The poison receiving bag was reduced to dust.
Apparently, it didn’t go too well.
“As for the cause… well, it’s probably because it was virtually still the same.”
The only thing I had inside of the poison receiving bag was the Poison Spitting Rat venom.
Maybe if I installed something inside of the poison receiving bag that would launch things out of it, then I might be able to create what I was envisioning.
Though, I doubt I’ll find anything like that in the『Tower of Mice』.
Moreover, one of the properties of the poison receiving bag was that it wouldn’t accept things that weren’t considered a form of poisonous liquid.
“Hmm, this is looking pretty rough.”
I propelled myself off the floor and floated up, vigorously stirring my wings so that I remained in the air and gave everything in the room a quick look-through.
Grudge table, restorative water, rat bones and fur, dangling meat fern flower moss, vines, leaves, and the bud that doesn’t seem like it’d bloom any time soon.
While I was taking a break earlier, I heard that there was some talk on the bulletin board about the dangling meat fern flower buds and how they might bloom if you shook them, so I tried it out thinking that I could get new materials this way, but whether it was because it hasn’t grown enough, or if the information was inaccurate, it didn’t work on my end.
Without any new materials in my possession, I couldn’t come up with any items that’ll help me create what I wanted.
“I guess I’ll just have to log out for the day.”
“Chuuchuu”
The time limit for my login was approaching, so I decided to log out and leave it at that.
Hmm, it’s not like it’s always possible to be fully prepared. Maybe, it’s time for me to take a chance, even if it does turn out to be a bit of a gamble.
