A Flag
“Hey. I told you everything I know, so please help me out.”
“…… Well, it sounds like it’s true that you taught me everything I know, and I’ll try to save your life.”
“Oh, thank you.”
As I was thinking while defeating the devil bats, the sniper was desperately trying to talk to me with tears in his eyes.
Then, when I was about to move to the stairs, a safe area where no monsters would come.
They came out of nowhere.
“Well, what’s that?”
“What’s that?”
They were devil bats, so many of them that they covered all the lights in the corridor. They were flapping their wings at us from the far end of the aisle.
Why all of a sudden? And there was no response to our [Enemy Search]?
“Damn it! Magic Light Arrow!”
“Uhi!”
With the sniper tied up and the members of the Dragon’s Eye at my back, I fire my highest-powered, highest-range [Magic Light Arrow] at the devil bat horde.
My arrows don’t stop, shooting down the devil bat one after the other.
“Yo, you did it?”
The sniper says that with a stunned expression on his face, but unfortunately that’s a flag, so you shouldn’t say it.
I thought something stupid like that, but it was still a flag, and the next herd flew out of the cloud of dust that came out when the Divine Bolt landed.
“You’re kidding!”
In order to shoot down the devil bat that flew again, I put all my magic power into it and prepared to shoot the [Magic Light Arrow].
The “magic arrow” takes a little time to fire due to its size.
The time it takes is less than five seconds for my agility status, but when I’m dealing with a swarm of devil bats that can cover an entire corridor, that gap is fatal.
“Damn!”
The moment I realized I would not make it in time, I thrust the [Magic Light Arrow] that I had created into the ground and used it as a shield.
And just like that, I support [Magic Light Arrow] and prepare for the attack.
“Guh ……!”
And the next moment, a tremendous shock hits the [Magic Light Arrow].
“Gaaaaaaaaaah!!!!”
In the midst of this, I heard the screams of the sniper I protected behind me.
I quickly turned around and saw the sniper and the members of the Dragon’s Eye attacked by the devil bats.
But for some reason, none of them attacked me.
It was as if they recognized me as something different from the Dragon’s Eye members.
After confirming this, I immediately let go of the [Magic Light Arrow] and headed toward the attacking devilbats. But before I could do it. The devil bat had already moved away from the snipers and went out of my sight.
The snipers were!?
“What’s this?”
After the devilbats were gone, I saw the snipers dried up and dead like mummies.
The snipers and the other had ravaged bellies, multiple bite marks, and signs of having had their blood sucked out of them.
And their faces were contorted with fear.
They had probably been bitten by a large number of devil bats, which had sucked all their blood.
And it’s no wonder, since the bat – or bats, in other words.
It must have been that kind of monster, or skill.
But that’s not enough to convince me.
“Why wasn’t I the only one attacked? There was no response to my enemy search, but I’m pretty sure it was a devil bat. Then it would have been strange if they were not attacking me too.”
I was the only one who wasn’t targeted by devil Bat.
I don’t know why.
At the very least, if the corpse of the devil bat that I shot down had remained, I might have learned something, but this time it was completely obliterated by the [Magic Light Arrow].
“……No good. I can’t figure it out even if I thought it, so let’s move on.”
And it’s not that unusual to lose your life like this in a dungeon.
Anyway, there’s no point in staying here like this.
Let’s get out of here as soon as possible.
The snipers are a concern, But now, it’s more about Rina.
In order to save Rina, I can’t just stand around here like this.
I’m sorry to the sniper and the others, but I can’t put the dead body in the [Item Box], so I guess I’ll just have to leave it like this.
At any rate, I proceeded while looking at the map I had taken from the Dragon’s Eye, which had already died out. Using the map as a reference, I determine my current location from the path I’ve been on and head for the stairs in the shortest distance.
I’m not sure if I’d see an ogre, a snake, or something else.
Let’s be as careful as possible.
