- Chapter 72-1 - Escaping the Archduke of the North’s Obsession Chapter 72-1
After spending a few more days with Isabella in the cabin, Seria returned to Arpeon using the Teleport Tower.
However, Seria returned to Isabella’s hut and also brought an uninvited guest in three days.
Victor got off the carriage in a hurry, and Isabella could only give him an awkward stare when he started scrutinizing her.
“I didn’t expect you to visit this shabby place yourself, Your Highness.”
Isabella requested a letter of recommendation from Prince Victor through Seria, but she never dreamed that he would visit her here.
“I was curious about the person whom Seria missed so much.” He emphasized the word ‘so much.’
Even his smile didn’t reach his brown eyes.
Prince Victor was jealous, that’s for sure.
Was it because Seria talked a lot about her to Prince Victor?
“I heard that you and Seria met in the Lilith Kingdom.”
She already knew that Prince Victor would be curious about their relationship, so she and Seria agreed that they had met in the Lilith Kingdom when they were young.
“Yes, that’s right, Prince Victor,” Isabella replied.
“Why are you living alone in the Northern part of the Acnis Empire, then? Do you have any family?”
“Oh, actually, I came to the Northern Kingdom because I had a relative here. But now, I’m alone.”
“Is it true that you saved Seria’s life when she was young?”
“Yes, I saved Princess Seria from drowning in the past.”
Prince Victor still looked suspicious of the lies that spilled from her lips.
“Victor, will you keep asking my sister like that?”
Bewildered, Prince Victor waved his hand at Seria’s question.
Still, he couldn’t hide his dissatisfaction.
“No. I was just wondering how you two got close. Seria. You’re not mad at me, are you?”
Isabella suppressed a small smile when Prince Victor tried to appease Seria.
It appeared like Prince Victor didn’t change except that he had no memory of her.
“I told you to be nice to her no matter what, Your Highness.”
“Well, I think I’m doing great so far. Isabella, if you have any difficulties in the future, feel free to contact me, alright?” Prince Victor said urgently and stared at Isabella.
“Thank you for agreeing to introduce me to a good job, Your Highness.”
“Oh, yes. You want to work as a pharmacist in Rubella Castle, right? Wouldn’t you rather work at Arpeon?” Prince Victor suggested. “I know the Archduke there, and it wouldn’t be easy working for him.”
Isabella hurriedly shook her head in refusal.
That didn’t cross her mind at all.
“No, I want to work at Rubella Castle.”
“Really? Maybe, you had no desire to leave this place?”
“Yes. Rubella is my home.” Isabella answered.
Prince Victor nodded slowly.
“Well, there’s nothing I can do about that. Pack your things first before going to Rubella Castle with Seria and me.”
“Since we are already here, Prince Victor and I decided to spend a few days with you at Rubella Castle, sister,” Seria added so that Isabella would understand.
“It would help you get the job faster if you came with us rather than a letter of recommendation. By the way, I heard you made this medicine, too.” Prince Victor said while shaking the red medicine Isabella gave Seria to get rid of her coldness.
“Yes.”
“She didn’t feel cold anymore after drinking it. Butler Marc would be glad to have a medicine maker like you. Marc is worried about Duke Kyar’s condition.”
“Your Highness, Duke Kyar?
“Yes, I don’t know the exact details. Marc would tell you once we get there.”
Isabella remembered seeing Duke Kyar in Rubella Castle not long ago.
He looked a little tired, but at least he wasn’t sick.
Why were they looking for a good pharmacist for the Archduke anyway?
Isabella anxiously packed many things in her bags that she could use in Rubella Castle.
After that, she asked Prince Victor and Seria for permission before coming out of the cabin to find Ignis.
Isabella gestured at the giant firebird, and Ignis flew to her side immediately.
“I had to go to Rubella Castle now, Ignis. What are you going to do? You can stay here if you want.”
“No! It’s a bit frustrating to be a small bird for long periods, but I’ll be by your side!”
Isabella flashed a grateful smile at Ignis.
“Thank you, Ignis. I like being with you, too.”
Ignis had been with her ever since she opened her eyes in this world.
That was why Isabella was deeply attached to him.
Ignis’ company made her feel safe and comfortable, or… maybe she had relied on him too much.
She couldn’t imagine life without Ignis at all.
