Chapter 620: 619 You bully the minority with numbers
“Mo Xiuchen, that’s not what I meant!”
Luo Haofeng raised his hands, hastily explaining to Mo Xiuchen.
Actually, he wasn’t scared of offending Mo Xiuchen, but rather scared of offending Wen Ran and consequently being ignored by Bai Xiaoxiao.
If not for that, he wouldn’t even bother explaining.
“Ranran, what did Ah Feng mean just now? Did you get the hint?”
Mo Xiuchen disregarded Luo Haofeng, casting a warm look at Wen Ran beside him, gently stroking the back of her hand.
Wen Ran chuckled lightly, “I understand, Luo Haofeng. It seems that you frequently have trysts with beautiful women in hotel rooms. No wonder you’re so comfortable on the hotel couch. However, you don’t look like the kind of innocent man who would rent a hotel room with a woman just to chat!”
“Pffffff——”
Qin Mu spat out his drink.
He quickly took out a tissue to wipe his mouth while struggling to contain his amusement. His careless display was quite uncouth, making his face flush with embarrassment.
“Ah Mu!”
Luo Haofeng shouted. Part of the water that Qin Mu had spit out landed on him. A precise saying was that Luo Haofeng was quick enough to move out of the way. Otherwise, the water would’ve sprayed onto his face. He strongly suspected that Qin Mu did it on purpose.
“Ah Feng, you can’t blame me for this. Blame your numerous past indulgences. Even Wen Ran doesn’t believe you are a virtuous gentleman. You spent last night with her best friend and haven’t confessed to anything,” Qin Mu casually said.
“What needs to be confessed? All I did was spend one night sleeping on the couch. Okay, I admit that I wanted something to happen between me and Xiaoxiao. However, when I’m around her, I feel dirty about having such thoughts, so I restrained myself,” Luo Haofeng explained. Luo Haofeng and Mo Xiuchen were like brothers to Qin Mu. They had, unabashedly, talked about such matters casually before this.
Luo Haofeng found it difficult to speak in his usual manner with such topics in the presence of Wen Ran.
“While we are curious about what didn’t occur when you and Xiaoxiao spent a night in the same room, we are more bewildered that you could sleep on a couch with no discomfort. As far as I recall, you slept on our living room couch overnight and woke up the next morning quite upset.”
Wen Ran said calmly, a soft smile on her bedazzling face.
Luo Haofeng gave a dry laugh but quickly recovered. Assertively, he said, “That is the power of love. Take Mo Xiuchen for example. He used to have no interest in women. But look at him now. Had I not known him for over twenty years, I would have thought his soul got swapped. Isn’t that so, Ah Mu?”
He tried to make an alliance, but Qin Mu showed no intention of backing him.
After throwing the tissue into the trash can nearby, Qin Mu leaned back against the chair. His eyebrows relaxed, he nonchalantly retorted, “What we’re discussing now is you, not Mo Xiuchen.”
“Oh, you guys are ganging up against me!”
Luo Haofeng dramatically complained. His handsome face full of grievances, like a child. His accusations of them ganging up against him made even Wen Ran laugh.
“Ranran, don’t bother with him.”
Whilst Mo Xiuchen spoke with a hint of a smile, his mood didn’t appear to fluctuate. He maintained a composed, warmly beautiful demeanour.
“Mo Xiuchen, you’re not actually going to get mad and treat me unfairly, right?”
Faced with Mo Xiuchen’s indifference and urging Wen Ran to ignore him, Luo Haofeng became nervous.
“What unfair treatment can Mo Xiuchen give you?”
As Qin Mu asked, curiously, his phone started to ring, indicating there was a new message.
He took out his phone and when he saw the message content, his expression subtly darkened as his lips pursed.
“Ah Mu, you’re going on a blind date?”
Leaning over to glance at Qin Mu’s message, Luo Haofeng exclaimed in surprise.
“When’s the blind date?”
An undertone of perplexity echoed in the depth of Mo Xiuchen’s dark eyes, as he turned towards Qin Mu. Meanwhile, Wen Ran stayed silent.
Qin Mu curved his lips into a faint smile and nonchalantly replied, “It’s arranged by my mother. It’s at 10 o’clock. I need to leave now.”
After finishing his coffee, he stood up, taking out his car keys. He glanced at Wen Ran, then handed the keys to Mo Xiuchen, “Mo Xiuchen, you can use my car to take Wen Ran around these few days.”
Mo Xiuchen didn’t refuse his kindness. “Do you want us to give you a lift? You’ve given us your car. How are you going to reach your blind date?”
Qin Mu replied casually, “I can just take a taxi.”
“Mo Xiuchen, Ah Mu is going for his blind date. We shouldn’t let him take a taxi! Let’s drop him off and also, we can weigh in on whether the woman is a good match for him.”
Luo Haofeng’s interest was piqued. He enthusiastically suggested, not waiting for Mo Xiuchen’s response.
Qin Mu merely glanced at him coldly, stood up, and walked away.
Mo Xiuchen remained silent, watching as Qin Mu’s figure disappeared out the door. A struggle bubbled beneath the depths of his lowered gaze.
“Mo Xiuchen, where are you two going to have fun?”
Seeing Qin Mu leaving, Luo Haofeng felt a tad disappointed that he couldn’t witness the spectacle of his blind date. However, he soon regained his cheerfulness and looked at Mo Xiuchen and Wen Ran with curiosity.
“Ranran, where do you want to go?”
Mo Xiuchen paid no heed to Luo Haofeng. He seemed to still be miffed about his previous comments. Wen Ran was quietly enjoying her breakfast. He handed her a napkin to wipe away a crumb from the corner of her mouth.
Luo Haofeng sulked and led himself to take a sip of his coffee.
Wen Ran chuckled and looked into Mo Xiuchen’s eyes, “You should arrange it. I’ve only been to A City once or twice, and I’m sure you’re more familiar.”
“Okay!”
Mo Xiuchan agreed warmly.
“Then you guys take your time exploring. I don’t want to be a third wheel.”
Luo Haofeng stood up, sensibly not wanting to be a disturbance to Mo Xiuchen and Wen Ran. He knew it was best to leave without making any unnecessary explanations.
Mo Xiuchen finally looked up at Luo Haofeng. Luo Haofeng understood from his gaze what was expected. He nodded, leaving behind the words, “Have a good time,” and left.
“Mo Xiuchen, aren’t you eating?”
With Qin Mu and Luo Haofeng gone, only Wen Ran and Mo Xiuchen were left.
Mo Xiuchen shook his head with a gentle smile, “I already ate earlier. Take your time; there’s no rush.”
Wen Ran nodded and resumed her breakfast.
Mo Xiuchen was familiar with A City and played the role of a tour guide well, leaving Wen Ran completely satisfied with the outing.
Ever since their vacation in Bali, he had also developed a fondness for taking photos of Wen Ran.
He bought a camera and clicked lots of pictures of her. Of course, there were also pictures of the two of them. However, more often than not, he took single shots of Wen Ran, capturing her varied expressions and different smiles.
