Chapter 3: Chapter 3: The Unique Talent – Devour!
Translator: Simple MTL Editor: Simple MTL
Nothing strange happened.
Bruce just squatted down and covered the pile of bones with his right hand, and as he did, he felt a stream of heat coming from the pile as it entered his body!
The stream of heat was small but continuous, like a warm river flowing into his body.
It lasted for half a minute.
When it stopped, there was a slight cracking sound, and then the pile of bones was reduced to a small heap of grayish-white ashes and disappeared with the wind, almost as if any valuable essence from the bones had been completely drained and absorbed by something else.
During this, the bones making up Bruce’s body had also undergone some changes.
They seemed to have become a little thicker.
The color of his bones also seemed darker, they had turned from a bright, pale white to a grayish-white.
However, the biggest change was to his attributes!
[ name ] : Bruce
[ race ] : Undead-skeleton
[ level ] : Level 1(10/100)
[ status ] : Health 10, Mana 15
[ attributes ] : Strength 0.8, Agility 1.2, Energy 1.0, Spirit 1.5
[ talent ] : Devour (unique)
[ skill ] : temporarily unavailable
He didn’t know when his skill would appear, but his four-dimensional attributes had changed slightly.
His agility and spirit had not changed, but his strength had increased from 0.7 to 0.8, and his energy had gone from 0.8 to 1.0!
Bruce looked down and saw three new messages on his status panel.
“You have absorbed the essence of the skeleton, and your body has become stronger.”
“Your strength has increased by 0.1.”
“Your energy has increased by 0.2.”
The number of messages that had popped up, happened to be the additional value of his four-dimensional attributes!
‘This must be the effect of my unique talent [ devour ]’ he thought.
His lower jaw cracked, and if it had not been for the fact that he was a skeleton and couldn’t make any sound, Bruce would have laughed out loud due to this sudden realization.
His only talent – Devour!
If his assumption was correct, it would mean that his talent allowed him to absorb the essence of any enemy he killed, and convert it into his attribute values!
The Second world was a real world, but because it was still a game, and it had digitized, surreal game rules.
In such a strange world, what was the most important thing?
Faction?
Class?
Equipment?
Inheritance?
No, the most important thing was attributes!
To increase mana, it required attribute values!
Better equipment required attribute values!
To advance in class, it required attribute points!
Even the lost inheritances that could allow someone to fly, often had extremely high attribute requirements!
In such a realistic game world, the four-dimensional attributes affected the physical body the most. Even with a stupid pig, if its four-dimensional attributes were stacked to the limit, it would still be a stupid pig god that was strong enough to fight against Gods!
Whether it’s an NPC, player, or a monster, attribute points were essential for everything!
Such a strong talent!
Such a strong skill!
How could it not make him extremely happy?
Nevertheless, this would not make Bruce arrogant. Even though he had the talent to be the strongest, he did not forget he was still a skeleton at the bottom level of the undead race, at the bottom of the entire game world.
Before he could turn his potential strength into true power, he still had to a long and arduous journey.
Once again, Bruce picked up a bone from the ground and carefully headed towards another skeleton a few meters away.
5 meters.
3 meters.
2 meters!
Kacha!
There was no surprise when the leg bone crushed the skull of the skeleton in front of him, just like the first time. The grey skeleton shook slightly and then fell to the ground.
“Ding, you have killed the weak skeleton!”
“You have gained 10 experience points.”
A familiar heat wave surged into Bruce’s body.
When the second pile of bones had been absorbed and turned into a pile of ashes, a new system notification appeared on his status panel.
“You have absorbed the essence from the bones. Your body has become stronger.”
“Your strength has increased by 0.1.”
“Your agility has increased by 0.1.”
Upon hearing the system’s voice, Bruce’s eyes flashed with excitement. He picked up another bone and went deeper into the ruins in front of him.
A few hours had passed, and it had gotten dark and gloomy.
A grayish-white skeleton was walking across the scattered bones. There was not a single trace of flesh on its body; it was only a slender skeleton. However, it gave off a feeling of solidity just by looking at it. It did not fit in with the other skeletons he had seen here before.
Within a few hours, Bruce had killed over a hundred skeletons nearby. This had gained him over a thousand experience points, and also greatly increased his four-dimensional attributes.
Bruce’s attributes panel had changed to:
[ name ] : Bruce
[ race ] : Undead-skeleton
[ level ] : Level 4(32/400)
[ status ] : Health 38, Mana 15
[ attributes ] : Strength 3.5, Agility 4.0, Energy 3.7, Spirit 1.5
[ talent ] : Devour (unique)
[ skill ] : temporarily unavailable
Within a few hours, he had risen from level 1 to level 4, and apart from the spirit attribute, the other three had increased by two or three times. This was a brilliant gain!
