Chapter 477: 476, Building Icy Camp_1
After ending her call with Su Yu, Xue Wenli immediately contacted the National Treasury Administration under the People’s Bank of China.
After searching through their internal system, a colleague from the Treasury Administration gave her an address. The address was for a warehouse at Sihui Bridge on the east fourth ring road of the Imperial Capital, housing 93 tons of gold recently brought back from the largest gold refinery in Tanzania.
Xue Wenli immediately forwarded the address to Su Yu.
Su Yu replied, “Received.”
He leapt out the window from the ninth floor and once he reached the ground, he released the [Teleportation Portal] spell to travel to the Imperial Capital.
Half an hour later, a silvery teleportation portal appeared above the Spiritual Spring Eye on Yunlu Mountain. Su Yu brought with him the 93 tons of gold that he had sourced from the Imperial Capital.
As Su Yu stepped out of the teleportation portal, he could see the entire base camp of Yunlu Mountain below him.
More than three months ago, the Singer Civilization had destroyed all the Skuru expeditionary forces on the top of Yunlu Mountain. The mountaintop was littered with powdered debris, and rampant Spiritual Energy filled the entire area.
After this Spiritual Energy had dissipated, Earth’s Construction Corps climbed to the summit of Yunlu Mountain to build their base.
Three months had passed, and the Human Base on the mountaintop had a concrete structure. Flat areas housed rows of buildings, the interiors and exteriors of which were filled with a myriad of precision instruments. Compared to three months ago, the transformation was simply earth-shaking.
Three military bases were located halfway up the mountain, guarding the mountaintop in a pin-shaped formation. Residing at the top were hundreds of ancient powers from various countries.
As soon as Su Yu appeared, hundreds of different Divine Senses probed him.
After confirming his identity, these Divine Senses immediately became much friendlier and withdrew.
Just then, two figures flew up from the base camp below, heading towards Su Yu.
Both of them were elderly with kind faces and youthful features despite their white hair.
One of the elders was wearing an old-fashioned yellow Tang Dynasty outfit with a black headdress, giving him an impressive aura.
The other elder was clad in simple civilian clothes, appearing no different from an old farmer in the mountains at a first glance, except for the fact that he could fly.
“You must be Su Yu? I have heard about you from the authorities.” The elder in the yellow outfit spoke kindly, his Mandarin tinged with ancient Chinese, “I am the Emperor of the Tang Dynasty, Li Shimin. This elder beside me is a senior from the Eastern Jin Dynasty. His name is Tao Yuanming.”
Su Yu hastily gave them a salute and said, “I pay my respects to both Elders.”
“What brings you here?” Elder Tao asked as he stroked his beard, looking at Su Yu.
“I am here for this, an entity produced in the game world.” Su Yu reached into the space attached to his necklace and pulled out a mini version of the ‘Icy Camp.’
The miniature camp was about the size of a student’s desk, and it looked extraordinarily exquisite. If it were considered an architectural model, it would be a work of art challenging even for Master Level craftsmen, so vivid and lifelike.
“This is…” Emperor Taizong narrowed his eyes and stroked his chin, “This seems somewhat like the ‘Chaos Clock Magical Instrument’ that I have encountered before. It houses a separate world inside. Su Yu, is a separate world also contained within this artifact of yours?”
“More or less,” Su Yu nodded, “According to the game’s explanation, this structure can recruit many creatures after its completion.”
While Su Yu was talking with the two elders, another figure flew up from the base below towards them.
This figure was clad in a “Lancot 003 armor”. Probably due to a lack of experience, the thing seemed to wobble during the flight.
When Su Yu looked at the face of this approaching figure, he immediately identified Snow Leopard, also known as Zhong Feng.
Maybe due to the fact that he needed to put on the armor, Zhong Feng was a little behind the two elders.
“Su Yu, what brings you here? And what is this?” The armor-clad Zhong Feng had reached the same altitude as Su Yu and, looking at the ‘Icy Camp’ in Su Yu’s hand through his transparent helmet, he paused for a moment because it looked familiar.
Su Yu said with a smile, “This is the ‘Icy Camp.’ You should be rather familiar with it, right? This is the same as the camps from the illusion battle just now. After I won the championship, the system rewarded me with five golden camps.”
“This… is really the Icy Camp?!” Zhong Feng was extremely surprised. He hadn’t thought the game would offer this kind of reward.
Elder Tao on the side frowned slightly and asked, “I haven’t followed the developments in the game world very closely. Can you please tell me what exactly the Icy Camp is?”
“How about this,” Su Yu looked at him, “I will build this Icy Camp here, and then you will find out what this structure is used for.”
“Alright.” Elder Tao and Emperor Taizong looked at each other, nodding in agreement.
…
Su Yu looked down at the base below.
The requirements to build the Icy Camp was an empty land that is 100 x 100. But the multitude of constructions on the mountaintop used up almost all of the available land, making it impossible for Su Yu to find a 100 x 100 plot.
Since there was no available land, Su Yu had to create the space himself.
He first retrieved the ‘Icy Camp’ back into his necklace and then descended to a spot on the side of the mountain.
“[Ice Blade Sword]!” Chanting a spell, Su Yu summoned a giant sword, a hundred meters long, made entirely of hard ice in front of him.
He chose a spot lower down on the slope and sliced horizontally into the slope.
The sturdy mountainside was cut open as easily as if a knife was slicing through tofu, leaving a gash a hundred meters deep.
Then he floated slightly higher, and with a vertical slice, he cleared out all the dirt in the middle of the cut, completing a flat platform that was hundreds of square meters large.
Seeing his effortless performance, Zhong Feng couldn’t help but wipe his sweat.
A sixth-ranking Sanctuary Mage was insanely formidable! It seemed that the mathematical models created by experts just couldn’t provide an adequate estimate of the power of high-ranking cultivators.
Su Yu was unaware of what Zhong Feng was thinking.
He took out the ‘Icy Camp’ from his necklace, placed it in the center of the platform, and let it begin construction.
The grand mages from the mountain base camp noticed the commotion and flew down to watch.
They were curious about the Icy Camp. They were very knowledgeable about the cultivation norms on Earth, but they were not as familiar with these foreign tools.
The Icy Camp was covered with heavy snow as it rapidly grew larger after the construction began. Its size increased from that of a student desk to being 100 x 100.
The grand mages used their Divine Senses to inspect the interior of the structure while they engaged in discussion:
“This artifact must be a structure from inside the game, right?”
“It looks like it.”
“Wait, I can feel the presence of life inside!”
“Yes, you’re right. I sense it too. There seems to be life contained within.”
Looking at the blanket of snow covering the camp, a grand mage turned to Su Yu, and asked, “Friend Su Yu, how long will this structure take to construct?”
