“I’m not a trash can!” Ji Anan was about to throw the chocolates away.
Sana caught them before she did. “Don’t throw them away! Take pity on these perfect chocolates… Especially since Beiming Yechen was the one that gave them to you…”
When she made it home, Sana would light up incense sticks, and from now on, she would pray every day for Beiming Yechen to go blind and fall for her.
Beiming Yechen had his arms behind his head as he backed away from Ji Anan and, while facing her, asked, “Do you really plan on going to a mixer?”
Earlier that morning, Ji Anan received another phone call from Old Master Beiming inviting her to yet another banquet.
No matter how much she repeated that she had a boyfriend, the old man refused to believe her…
“Cheating in public? Wait for me after school, and don’t you dare try to escape.”
“What do you plan on doing?”
“Acting as my granddad’s driver and taking you home.”
“What a coincidence! I have a date with my boyfriend tonight. Please stay away from me, because I don’t want to be seen as someone’s charity project. Appearing with you in public puts tremendous pressure on me!” Ji Anan waved her fists at him menacingly, gesturing for him to get lost.
Beiming Yechen grinned, revealing his perfect white teeth. The girls couldn’t help but stare in a daze and fawn over his dazzling smile.
“What boyfriend?”
“There’ll be one soon. Now, get lost!” Ji Anan swung her bookbag forcefully towards his body.
He swiftly swerved to the side and started tugging at her wild curls.
“Why are you following me?”
“I’m waiting so I can help your blind boyfriend cross the street…”
Ji Anan threatened, “If you continue following me, then later, I’ll be the one helping an incapacitated person get to the hospital.”
As he stood back and watched the prideful and cheeky figure walk away, he couldn’t help but grin in amusement.
With a snap of his fingers, an extravagant car pulled up to the curb.
“I’ll see you tonight, little country bumpkin.” As soon as he finished speaking, his debonair figure leapt into the car, drawing screams from a bunch of girls.
Sana chased after the car as she waved longingly and shouted, “My name is Sana! See you next time… Bye bye, bye bye. Bye bye…”
There were screams wherever Beiming Yechen was.
By the time she became a freshman, Sana had already heard about the legendary Beiming Yechen…
She had heard all sorts of stories of how he was as a person, including how he breezed his way through everything in school.
When the girls gathered together to gossip, he was the subject nine times out of ten.
Ji Anan worried about being ridiculed by Beiming Shaoxi if she went to the manor, since he had written her a check, so she set her mind on finding a boyfriend so she could shut him up!
…
A sleek Maserati suddenly pulled up right in front of Ji Anan.
A chauffeur in a white uniform held up a lace umbrella.
Ji Anan was about to make a detour when a high-pitched and haughty voice called out to her, “Stop right there.”
It was a girl with luscious waves of hair, long eyelashes, a pert button nose, and a sharp chin. In her princess dress, she looked like a living Barbie doll.
She had an air of elegance that displayed her affluent upbringing.
“You’re Ji Anan?” She looked Ji Anan up and down. “You’re the one that was with Brother Shaoxi last night?”
Ji Anan’s face soured as she lamented her bad luck. What had she done in her last life to deserve such relentless harassment from Beiming Shaoxi?
The students passing by all stopped to stare.
Two wrestler-like bodyguards stepped up from behind the girl in the princess dress, and they rubbed their fists menacingly, as if they were preparing to strike Ji Anan any second. “Miss, don’t bother. Let us do the dirty work for you.”
“Wait, I still have something to ask her,” declared the girl haughtily.
Ji Anan attempted to run, but six bodyguards blocked her path.
So, this was it. Was she doomed to be beaten up? She would probably make headlines in the news tomorrow and become famous around the school.
Ji Anan felt wronged. Why should she have to suffer a beating?
She couldn’t run, she couldn’t fight, and nobody was willing to help her…
“How dare you climb into Brother Shaoxi’s bed!”
