His and Her Forever Love - Chapter 44
Chapter 44: I Won’t Do It!
…
After she had helped Jiang Beihan wear his scarf, Song Wenxin returned once again to her seat on the sofa and continued to knit the scarf that she had begun earlier.
Focusing on the scarf that Song Wenxin was currently knitting, Jiang Beihan frowned and, unable to suppress his concern, asked, “What is this?”
Was she going to give him two scarves?
Hmm… so far so good. At least she was conscious of her place.
“A scarf!”
Dark eyes staring at the yarn in her hands, he asked, concerned, “Who is it for?”
“I noted that there is quite a lot of yarn left, so I’m planning to also knit my brother a scarf,” Song Wenxin replied after giving him a look.
Upon hearing that, Jiang Beihan’s face darkened instantly, and he was beginning to feel very unhappy.
It was not for him. She was knitting the scarf for another man!
If she could knit him a scarf, she could also knit a scarf for another man!
Did it mean that, in her heart, he was no different from any other man?
Trying not to show his anger, he mustered up his patience and asked mildly, “Do you enjoy knitting scarves very much?”
Did she enjoy knitting scarves for other people?
“Well, I wouldn’t say that I enjoy knitting scarves. It’s just that every time I finish knitting a scarf, I feel a small sense of accomplishment!” Song Wenxin explained with a smile as she looked at the unfinished scarf in her hands.
This feeling was probably similar to fashion design. When one sees their own creation being applied by others, one would feel a small sense of accomplishment.
“Sense of accomplishment?” Jiang Beihan frowned and muttered in a low voice.
“Oh, yes. Why do you ask?” Sensing that he was being weird, Song Wenxin raised her head to look at him, a little puzzled.
However, Jiang Beihan simply shot her a glance as his face was transformed by a smile that looked more like a snigger.
That smile made Song Wenxin’s heart falter, as she had a foreboding that something not very pleasant was about to happen.
Suddenly sitting down beside her, he reached his hand toward her.
Stunned, Song Wenxin immediately shifted away to the other side.
Jiang Beihan’s long arm reached out and, in one swoop, snatched from her hands the scarf that she had just started to knit.
“From now on, you can only knit stuff for me! Scarves, sweaters, or any other items—it’s your choice!” His attractive lips curled up, and he threw the stuff in his hand accurately and faultlessly into the trash bin.
His overbearing arrogance and decisiveness manifested by how easily he landed his shot on the target.
Song Wenxin was shocked into speechlessness as her face instantly showed outrage.
“Jiang Beihan, what do you mean by all this?!” she demanded, looking at him a little angrily. How could he be overbearing, throwing out her things like that and making a load of ridiculous remarks?!
“Exactly what I’ve said. I’ve already said it once, but if you find it difficult to understand, I could repeat myself.” Jiang Beihan replied with his eyebrows raised, his expression calm.
“I won’t do it!” Song Wenxin responded resentfully, arms folded in front of her chest.
She glared at him with her eyes wide open, the anger in her not yet subsided.
Who did he think he was that she must do whatever he wanted her to do?
Looking down at her through narrowed eyes, Jiang Beihan thought that she looked quite adorable when she was angry.
From her expression, she looked like she was ready to devour him whole. However, she was painfully aware that there was nothing she could do to him, so all she could do was to tear her hair out in frustration!
That look of unmitigated rage was very cute.
At her angry protest, Jiang Beihan was not only unfazed but laughed suddenly, instead.
That laugh… hearing that laugh, Song Wenxin’s heart shuddered. Her hair stood on end, and she had goosebumps, feeling in that instant a sense of foreboding that something unpleasant was about to happen!
As far as Song Wenxin was concerned, hearing his laugh was always a lot more painful than listening to his harsh words or having to look at his emotionless, cold face.
