His and Her Forever Love - Chapter 45
Chapter 45: That Depends on Your Performance!
Because every time he showed her this type of expression that gave her goosebumps and caused her hair to stand on end, it meant that she was about to get into trouble.
It was the same type of expression that he had shown on the day before when he had made her drink that coffee.
That laugh… it made Song Wenxin remember things that were still very fresh in her mind.
…
Right about that time, Jiang Beihan suddenly raised his eyebrows, raised his well-toned arm, and draped it across her shoulders.
Stunned, Song Wenxin froze and uttered, “W-What are you doing?”
Not answering her immediately, he lowered his head and inched it closer to her.
His pitch-black eyes stared intently at her face.
The warm air exhaled from his nose fanned across Song Wenxin’s nose and cheeks.
That alluring breath caused Song Wenxin’s heart to beat involuntarily out-of-control, and so rapidly…
Opening her eyes wide, she raised her hands to clutch at her own pajamas, suddenly feeling the urge to take deep, deep breaths to try and soothe this embarrassing sensation.
Even though this man did not like women, shouldn’t he sometimes be a little more considerate toward them?!
With a face that was exceptionally good-looking, he was behaving in such an ambiguously sensual manner toward women… behavior that was misleading and could result in misunderstandings.
If she had not known that he preferred men, Song Wenxin really feared that she might not have been able to restrain herself…
At that thought, her face flushed and heated up involuntarily.
This was a first for her, where a man was concerned, that she felt this way.
…
“Recently, Song Jiamu seems to have been negotiating a very important collaboration.” Jiang Beihan said, eyebrows raised smugly as he noticed her confused state.
Collaboration… Hearing that word, Song Wenxin was suddenly alerted, recalling that her brother had talked about a big business deal when she was home earlier that day.
Putting her brother’s potential business deal together with Jiang Beihan’s smug smile earlier, Song Wenxin was instantaneously jolted into thinking that the business partner that her brother had alluded to was…
“Are you the business partner that my brother was talking about?” Song Wenxin asked, sitting upright in surprise.
“It was such a small deal that I did not need to get personally engaged!” Jiang Beihan scoffed.
Song Wenxin had no rebuff for what he had just said.
Truth be told, in Jiang Beihan’s eyes, the small scale of her family’s business was indeed nothing.
But, to her brother and the Song family at this time, the business collaboration was very critical!
So what Jiang Beihan was really telling her now was that, if she refused to do as he had ordered, he would stop all the talks with Song Jiamu about the collaboration.
She did not understand why he had to use this matter to threaten her. Was it just to make her knit sweaters and other stuff for him?
He was Jiang Beihan. Surely he did not lack for sweaters…
Or perhaps he was just bored out of his mind and toying with her.
She felt that she was getting more and more lost trying to understand this man’s logic.
Biting her lips, Song Wenxin asked guardedly, “So, are you saying that if I agree to knit stuff for you, you will continue to discuss business collaborations with my brother?”
“That depends on how you perform!” His lips curled as he removed his arm from her shoulders and stretched out against the sofa, crossing his long legs.
“Depends on my performance?” Song Wenxin paused before reacting, and, lurching toward him, she asked, “Are you referring to me knitting you a sweater?”
“You have to keep me in a good mood. Only then will Song Jiamu be happy, too!” Jiang Beihan nodded and explained, keeping his words short and to the point.
Hearing what he had just said, Song Wenxin understood the meaning behind his words.
The meaning behind his words was that as long as she did everything according to his instructions—hence putting him in a good mood—he would continue to discuss business collaborations with her brother.
