As Black Chicken spoke, he drew out his mobile phone and brought up a document containing a family tree. He showed this to Tang Qianmiao.
“Look Boss, this is Chairman Lu Qintian, he recently died of illness. This is his second wife Chen Lan, and then there’s his two daughters. The elder one is Lu Xinqing and the younger one Lu Wanyu. And this is Lu Xinqing’s husbandーXu Fei, he’s married into the Lu family.”
Tang Qianmiao’s eyes flashed for a moment when she heard Lu Wanyu’s name. The short-haired girl who had taken responsibility for her own actions came to her mind.
How coincidental that they were classmates.
“Go on,” she said as she regained her composure and continued to eat at a leisurely pace.
Black Chicken smiled as he continued, “According to the detailed research I’ve done, this girl Lu Xinqing was born out of wedlock. She was born when Lu Qintian was having an affair with Chen Lan before he divorced his first wife. And before his first wife died, he kept the mother-and-daughter in secret. During this time, he and his wife also had Lu Wanyu. What a scumbag.”
“Get to the point.”
Setting the gossip aside, Black Chicken zoomed in on the key facts, “Now that Lu Qintian has died, it has been announced that his estate will go to his wife, Chen Lan, and elder daughter, Lu Xinqing. As for the younger daughter Lu Wanyu, she has no inheritance at all. The moment he passed away, his elder daughter announced that she would be terminating our collaboration. Don’t you think it’s strange?”
Tang Qianmiao set her chopsticks down and looked contemplative for a moment. “Get them to continue to investigate the cause of Lu Qintian’s death as well as dig for more information on Lu Wanyu. Let’s go to the factory to take a look.”
With that said, she got to her feet.
LM had integrated production and sales operations. They had their own factory and their collaboration with their material suppliers had always been steady. If they were to change suppliers, it was almost certain there would be some sort of butterfly effect.
This matter was serious. She had to make a trip to the factory to take a look.

On the way, Da Bai sent her some news.
[Da Bai: I’ve heard about the matter. I’ll have someone deal with it, so it’s better for you not to interfere. Just focus on your studies.]
She smiled.
[Tang: Who was the one who threw the company to me to manage while he’s gone gallivanting around?]
[Da Bai: (Kneeling.jpg) Ever since I left the capital, not a day has gone by that I haven’t blamed myself.]
[Tang: (Get lost.jpg)]
[Da Bai: Seriously speaking, you’re in your third year and it’s time to focus on your studies. Score well and get yourself into Utrecht. I’ll hire a manager to look after the business in the meantime.]
Tang Qianmiao stared at this message and slipped into a deep train of thought.
She had always been a planner. Utrecht University was one of the top three universities in the country. It had beautiful surroundings and most importantly, it was the top university where her pet subject was concerned. Hence, this university was indeed part of the plans that she had previously made.
But now, her mother’s death has brought some uncertainty to her future and she had to rethink a few things.
All afternoon, Tang Qianmiao was at the factory and did not go to school. When Xue Ying, the teacher-in-charge, received Black Chicken’s call, she sounded impatient for the first time.
“Pardon me for being blunt. As the parent of Qianmiao, you are aware that the child is in her third year now. It’s been less than a week since she transferred to our school and this is the third time she’s applying for leave. How is she going to catch up with her school work this way?”
Black Chicken replied, “The child is sick, so what can we do?”
The impatience was evident in the teacher’s voice. “We’ll let it go this time, I hope there won’t be a next time.”
Having said this, she hung up. When another teacher nearby overheard this, she asked curiously, “What’s wrong? You sound angry.”
