Sixty-five Dragons (3)
The complexity of this arrangement was also reflected in the variety of seeds she had brought back this time.
At Grade 2, the recipe for Spirit Returning Pills was different. The main ingredients required were all now at Grade 2, and the recipe now included not only Chimebell Grass and Qingyu Flower, but also another ingredient called Spirit Ascension Grass.
After reaching a certain quality, the initial grades of elixirs could be enhanced through the alchemist’s “Spirit Ascension.” This pale purple herb had the effect of aiding alchemists in successful Spirit Ascension, thus earning it the name Spirit Ascension Grass. It was very costly, similar to that of the main ingredient, the Grade 2 Spirit Returning Fruit.
Of course, the price of the Grade 2 Spirit Returning Pills would be raised in accordance as well. The market rate of one bottle was three medium-grade spirit stones. Mu Wanwan speculated that based on Uncle Zong’s tendency to directly raise prices by half, if she managed to refine them, they would be sold for four and a half medium-grade spirit stones per bottle.
As for the Condensed Snow Pills, she would also work hard to refine some this time. Not particularly for selling purposes, but purely for the nourishment of the dragon and little chirp at home.
As she ventured into the courtyard earlier today, she could still detect a subtle trace of toxicity lingering in the air. Occasionally, from the scales discarded by the dragon, a wispy black mist would emerge. Mu Wanwan had even suffered an ankle injury from it before.
The sensation was akin to a slight numbness accompanied by a prickling ache—she supposed it was an effect of the curse the dragon had been afflicted with in the past.
She was already in such pain from that slight wound, let alone Mister Long, who had borne the full brunt of it.
Mu Wanwan lowered her head, her eyes resting on her fair palm. Yet, in her mind’s eye, she saw the scene from hours ago when her hand was stained with Mister Long’s fresh blood. The man stood stubbornly in the courtyard, his seemingly cold and indifferent eyes carrying an overwhelming, dominating aura.
A faint smile appeared on Mu Wanwan’s lips as she mentally calculated the time, then fed the dragon another Condensed Snow Pill.
“Chirp~” As Mengmeng slept, its bald little wings and the tuft of feathers on its head twitched along with its small body’s movements. It let out a soft chirp as if it had dreamt of something delicious.
Mu Wanwan couldn’t help but smile. Thankfully, Mengmeng was fine and well. She looked at the overcast sky outside, swallowed a Spirit Returning Pill herself, rolled up her sleeves, and prepared to get to work.
Though her days were now filled with challenges, she wasn’t alone anymore.
For a brighter future, she had to work hard! The first step to creating a better life was to start with cultivating the seeds!
Pumped with confidence, Mu Wanwan began to work on her business venture. Meanwhile, Mister Long was absorbing spiritual energy from the spirit stones to counteract the curse’s backlash within his body, while the adorable Mengmeng…
…Was indeed dreaming!
The little chirp was having a very “happy” dream~
In its dream, Mengmeng had grown incredibly large, becoming a super majestic and invincible chirp!
Then, Princess Wanwan appeared!
She was dressed in a beautiful green gown, cradling a large pot of spiritual fruits and elixirs—all of them Mengmeng’s favorite. Then, she smiled gently at Mengmeng.
Mengmeng was deeply moved. It shook the stylish and spirited tuft of feathers on its head and made to nuzzle against Princess Wanwan’s hand and then enjoy the carefully prepared treats.
However, just as Mengmeng was about to approach Princess Wanwan, a wicked dragon descended from the sky. It had menacing broken horns, an evil countenance, and ruthless methods. His body was larger and more muscular than Mengmeng’s, and he stood between Mengmeng and Princess Wanwan.
“Chirp—!! (Super ferociously!)” Angered, Mengmeng rushed forward to push the wicked dragon away. But the wicked dragon acted swiftly, and with a wave of his hand, sent Mengmeng flying and crashing into the wall.
“My lady.” The wicked dragon blocked Mengmeng’s path and lifted the princess in his arms, flashing an (evil) grin.
“Chirp!! (Wanwan belongs to Mengmeng!)”
About to kiss the princess, the wicked dragon was annoyed at being interrupted. He pressed down on Mengmeng’s head with one hand, transforming it into a chubby spinning Mengmeng top~
As Mengmeng spun and spun, it felt its head hurt.
It looked up and saw that the wicked dragon was clutching the tuft of feathers on its head and offering it to the princess.
Princess Wanwan was delighted. “I love feathery things like this the most. It’s so soft and adorable. Thank you, my dear Mister Long. I really like you!”
Then, they leaned against each other. Princess Wanwan even fed the wicked dragon some fruits. Poor Mengmeng felt hurt; the chubby chirp sat despondently on the ground, holding its head and crying out in complaint.
“Chirp!”
And so, when she returned to the room after being hard at work, she found that Mengmeng was visibly downcast and even seemed to be ignoring her.
Thinking that Mengmeng wasn’t feeling well, she placed more fruits and elixirs near it, then softly comforted Mengmeng for a long time until it regained some of its spirits. However, its eyes remained teary, as if it had suffered a great deal of grievances.
Assuming that Mengmeng was frightened, Mu Wanwan was even more patient than usual. Little did she know that the feathery chirp was actually feeling sad because of a dream!

With numerous tasks to accomplish and the concern that Mister Long’s injuries would worsen during the night, the now Rank 3 cultivator Mu Wanwan chose not to sleep to recover her physical and spiritual energy, but rather, chose to focus on cultivation.
She also kept an eye on Mister Long while doing so.
By the time Mister Long regained consciousness, four days had quietly slipped by.
The heavy snow had finally ceased, and outside the room was the long-lost bright sunlight, casting warm rays through the now-cleaned windows, leaving patches of light on the clean floor.
The scent in the air was no longer the unpleasant smell of blood, but the pleasant fragrance of blooming Condensed Snow Flowers. His body felt dry and clean. She must have cleaned him up.
Also…
Sensing a completely different sensation in a certain area compared to others, Mister Long’s perceptive mind couldn’t help but realise what had happened. A blush spreading from his ears to his cheeks, he shifted his arm, feeling the torn clothes that was awkwardly wrapped around his waist. Lashes trembling, Mister Long slowly opened his eyes.
Before him lay the familiar palace. He slightly propped himself up into a half-sitting position, his long black hair cascading down.
