“Do you know how to act?”
She looked at that actress viciously. She looked like she was going to rush forward and bite her to death!
When she saw Yan Chengchi sitting at the side, her viciousness hid away. She pretended to look pitiful.
Remain calm, she got to remain calm.
It was Yan Chengchi who changed the script. If she had shown any displeasure, he would suspect that she doubted him. He would not be happy about that.
“Are you still ok, Mingna?” the director asked over the megaphone.
“I am alright; Young Master Chi trusted me to do a good job, and I will not disappoint him.” Jiang Mingna tried her best to smile and looked at Yan Chengchi shyly.
Then, she turned her head and glared at Xia Changyue, who was standing beside Yan Chengchi.
The smug look on her face seemed to be gloating and reminding Xia Changyue that she longer had the right to stand next to Yan Chengchi.
Xia Changyue lowered her gaze and ignored her provocation. Being so close to Yan Chengchi was already making her nervous enough.
She noticed that Yan Chengchi was tapping his fingers on the chair’s armrest. Xia Changyue tensed up straight away.
She knew that this little action implied someone had made him enraged.
Who was it, though?
Xia Changyue turned her head and looked around her. There was no one standing close to him, let alone had the chance to offend him.
“Everyone, get yourself ready. We are doing it again.” The director used the megaphone to reorganize the set.
Xia Changyue was no longer interested in gloating over Jiang Mingna’s plight. She turned her full attention to Yan Chengchi. She tried to remain calm by thinking that maybe his habit had changed. After all, they had been separated for four years.
“Cut!”
After the nth take…
“This take is not bad. It should be alright, let’s have a break. We will be filming the male lead’s part shortly.” The director informed loudly via the megaphone.
Just as everyone was about to heave a sigh of relief, Yan Chengchi, who had been sitting at the side while looking very unapproachable, began to speak slowly. “Rumor has it that Director Wang has very high standards for his works. Apparently, rumors are just rumors.”
“What do Young Master Chi mean?” The director started to have cold sweat and asked Yan Chengchi respectfully.
“Who would drink room temperature beer at the pub in such hot weather?” Yan Chengchi said with a smirk. He deliberately emphasized every single word.
“We should use chilled beer to film under hot weather. The colder it is, the more realistic the film will be.”
His seductive smile was mesmerizing and compelling at the same time. It felt like whatever he said was the absolute truth.
“…”
Why did he only decide to say that ice-cold beer has a better effect now?
The director looked at Yan Chengchi in a shock.
“Do you think I am wrong then?” Yan Chengchi raised his eyebrows and said with an evil sparkle in his eyes.
“Of course not. Shall we redo it again right now?” The director immediately asked without a second thought.
One could offend anybody, except Yan Chengchi.
“The project is yours, so you have the final call. I am just here to check whether Yan Corporation should continue to fund this TV series we have invested in.” Yan Chengchi said lightly.
When he said that, he raised his eyes and glanced at Xia Changyue, who was standing beside him.
She had good endurance now. She didn’t complain despite standing there for so long.
She used to complain that she was tired after only standing for two minutes. She would then ask him to support or carry her.
She could even stand up to an hour without complaining now…
Yan Chengchi narrowed his eyes. He knew she deserved it, but his heart couldn’t help but ache. He turned and looked at his Special Assistant.
