Chapter 26: Stunning Everyone
After the trachea was cut open, Gaia’s insides were revealed.
Due to the erosion of the spores, the entirety of Gaia’s trachea was now infested with the spores.
The spores rapidly grew on Gaia’s trachea, forming a large fat-like blob with small tentacles on it.
The fat was like lichen, covering Gaia’s trachea. That thing was densely covered with tiny spores.
These spores had been parasitizing for a long time, so they had already entered a mature state.
With a light touch, they would spew out the yellowish-green powder, which looked extremely disgusting.
All this time, light green pus was still oozing out of it. The pus was filled with the bacteria.
If it dripped into the lungs through the windpipe, the lungs would quickly become infected.
William and the others outside were extremely worried when they saw this.
Their comrade suffering in there, but they could not do anything about it.
“Ugh!” Brad punched the rock and roared, “When the reinforcements arrive, I’m gonna burn this spore forest to the ground with incendiary grenades.”
“This is problematic. The expert group probably won’t let you do that.” Douglas shook his head and said.
“What the f*ck are you on about? What does the expert group have to do with me? When the time comes, I will fly a bloody plane and level this godforsaken spore forest with f*cking napalm if I have to.” Brad said angrily as he grabbed Douglas by the collar and pushed him against the rock.
Douglas’s expression did not change. He continued, “I’m just stating facts. We might be operating with a lot more freedom now, but when the expert group comes, we will all lose this freedom. The expert group won’t let us just play around on Planet Mushu all willy nilly..”
William, who was at the side, quickly pulled the two of them apart. Giving each of them a punch, he said in a serious tone.
“We are a team. During the operation, no one infighting is allowed.
“Do you understand?” William said loudly.
They had already scouted out this area earlier, finding no traces of large beasts. Thus, William spoke loudly without a care in the world.
“Yes!” Brad and Douglas said in unison.
The others then asked, “Why would the expert group restrict our actions?”
Douglas looked into the distance and said apathetically.
“Because of profits. The only investor backing us right now is the Klaus family. Any results from our actions would also be credited to the Klaus family.
“However…
“Behind the expert group is various factions from all over the world. They won’t consider which method is the safest or the most effective. Their decisions are made through the negotiation of the various factions.
“The investor backing us – the Klaus Family – already took a huge chunk of profits during the initial profit distribution negotiations. Therefore, in the future, the Klaus Family will definitely become the target of public criticism.
“In other words, a lot of factions want the Klaus Family out of the picture. Only then will they have more profits for themselves.”
Douglas said, turning to the crowd, “So cherish this time we still have, because the discoveries we make within these few days will be credited to us, the profit it brings will be credited to us.”
“No wonder the orders are so urgent,” William said. “They wanted us to explore Planet Mushu as soon as possible. Otherwise, it would have been safer to take it slower.”

In the cave, Gaia continued to perform the surgery.
“Start the blood transfusion. The initial volume is 300cc,” Gaia instructed.
The next second, a thick needle was inserted into Gaia’s vein by the robotic arm, beginning the blood transfusion.
A bit of color returned to Gaia’s pale face. He felt a little warmer than before and regained a little more strength, allowing him to continue the surgery for himself.
He continued to operate through the display screen.
The robotic arm’s flexible humanoid finger reached out from the operating table and hooked onto Gaia’s trachea.
A sharp blade extended from the end of the finger and carefully cutting around the spore membrane.
Then, a shocking scene appeared.
Gaia’s finger tapped a few times on the display screen.
A red warning sign immediately appeared on the display screen, but Gaia did not care. He steeled his resolve as he pressed confirm.
In the next second, the mechanical arm reached out and grabbed the edge of the spore film, then pulled it out forcefully.
“Plop!”
The spore membrane was thrown into a storage box.
There was a yellow viscous fluid mixed into the blood that was dripping out. It was the excrement of the spores. It had slow-acting toxic components and the same levels of infectivity.
“Start stitching. Prepare the hemostatic cotton, needle, thread, and bandages,” Gaia ordered quickly.
The robotic arm moved quickly. A second robotic arm with a nozzle at the end extended out and quickly used disinfectant to sterilize the robotic arm.
After cleaning the wound, it started the suturing process.
The final step was to apply the bandage. That was also quickly completed.
The people outside were all focused on Gaia’s surgery. The way he was handling his own operation was as elegant, gorgeous, and precise, it was almost like they were watching a ballet performance.
Every step was done in the most efficient and simplified manner possible. No wonder he dared to cut a forty-minute surgery down to twenty minutes.
They even suspected that Gaia had gone through hundreds of simulations before he joined the fray.
“Time for the next area.”
Seeing that Gaia had finished suturing the trachea, Douglas muttered to himself.
As expected, Gaia, who had finished suturing the incision, controlled the robotic arm to move towards the chest.
The spores on his neck had already been dealt with. Any remnant activity was already greatly reduced and could be easily treated later.
However, the ones on his chest were different. The spores here were very close to many important organs.
Once the spores spread those areas, then Gaia would be beyond saving.
“Phew!”
Seeing this, Douglas heaved a sigh of relief. He sat on the ground, not caring about whether the ground was dirty or not.
Gaia did not disappoint him, or rather, it should be said that it was an eye-opening experience for him. It was indeed rare for such a level of surgery to be done on a body.
“It’s time for the next area again,” William said in surprise.
He had lost focus for just a moment. By the time he regained his senses, he found that Gaia was already dealing with the spores in the second area.
After all, he had just finished dealing with the wound on his neck!
Brad said in a low voice, “Isn’t he going a little too fast?”
