I Refuse To Reject His Proposal - Chapter 1
Unfortunate Life
(3rd Person POV)
Even if the moonlight wasn’t reflected, someone jumped into the mountain fearlessly in the dark. Holding a skirt inappropriate for climbing the mountain, she looked back. Her face was full of anxiety and nervousness because she was chased.
“Hoot”.
When the branch, which could not be avoided, brushed the ball, a raw snatch occurred. Eileen roughly brushed the blood from the back of her hand but it was useless. Rather, the wound on the back of the hand was spread out, and more blood was staining her skin.
“Ugh”.
Eileen shrank in the hot pain felt on the soles of her feet. When the shoes came off, they looked like they were stabbed by a pointed object. She wanted to ignore the pain and move forward, but her feet were shaking.
Eileen, who staggered, so that her feet would not strain, leaned against the tree, breathing heavily. When it stabilized a little, she bowed her upper body to see the throbbing soles of her feet. At the same time, the necklace inside her clothes flowed out.
Her pendant was hanging from a thin string and she stared at it, her eyes shaking.
“Where did it go wrong?”’
Eileen grabbed Ethan’s necklace, yes, that pendant was her Brother Ethan’s relic and sadly it was the item causing all the misfortune that happened to her.
It began when Ethan married the Archduke.
Ethan was the manifestation of a Dominant Omega and had a political marriage with the Archduke of Alpine. Less than a year later, her brother returned as a cold corpse.
She couldn’t believe that a healthy person such as her brother suddenly died like that. However, when she learned about what happened to him, she realized that death was indeed the only resolution.
Ethan wasn’t loved by the Archduke. Her older brother, who was suffering from his heat, was eventually cooled down by receiving pheromones and relief from another person who wasn’t the Grand Duke. Ethan ended his life after falling into depression.
Eileen couldn’t imagine how much pain her brother has been through.
How sensitive an Omega’s body is to an Alpha’s pheromone? How desperate an Omega is to an Alpha’s appearance that it made her brother crawl over.
Getting married made her understand her brother’s pain. The disastrous feeling of holding unto her partner’s pants right after marriage, like a beast always in heat.
Her unwanted relationships, the violent pheromone showers, and her unhappy marriage left Eileen on the brink of collapse.
“Eileen!”
Eileen’s heart almost stopped at a loud cry that the mountain rang.
Eileen moved her foot so that was not forced to exert force. The body, which had reached its limit, was becoming insensitive.
Eileen, who wished to rest right away but aimed to escape from her husband, took a step forward with desperate struggle. However, when she felt someone else’s footsteps within a short period of time, Eileen’s eyes flashed fear.
It was her husband, Patrick.
“Why are you here?”
It didn’t matter how far she ran. Eileen, who was trying to get away, would always be caught by her husband. Other than his presence, she glanced at her feet.
It was a cliff with no end in sight and deep sound of the wind. A man came from Eileen’s back, he was looking at her with bewildered eyes.
“Eileen.”
As Eileen hurriedly looked back, Patrick stood with a fishy smile.
“Did you run away again?”
“Don’t come near me!”
“Alright, please calm down.”
Patrick smiled as he glanced at the cliff behind her. He was similar to a cat tormenting a cornered mouse as he sharpened his tone.
“You have nowhere to run…”
Eileen bit her lower lip. She wrapped her fingers on Ethan’s pendant as if her life depended on it.
“It was quite difficult to come here. Eileen, won’t you come quietly over here and give your husband a hug?”
It was a friendly tone that didn’t quite match the man chasing his runaway wife. However, even in the dark, she could see the dangerous glint in his eyes. She stepped back without realizing.
“Don’t, please let me go.” Eileen eagerly asked Patrick.
She didn’t want to live with him anymore.
Every day was torture.
She had a whole day of screaming in pain, Eileen had become completely lifeless. However, Patrick was completely ignoring her words.
He still glared at Eileen’s white skin with insidious eyes.
“Eileen, think carefully. Why are you asking me to let go of you when you have nowhere to lean on? Your parents and your older brother have left this world; I am the only one left. Come over here and obey me.”
Patrick’s words became thorns that penetrated Eileen’s heart.
“You know, if I’m in a good mood, I’ll tell you a very interesting story.”
Patrick spoke in a light tone that didn’t suit the situation.
“Your home. Do you know who knocked it down?”
Eileen pressed her rampaging heartbeat. She didn’t want to hear it, but she was already shaken by what he said.
“What ……… Who…?”
“The Archduke. I guess there was something in your family that he despised.”
Patrick giggled and added.
“Not only your brother, your parents were all killed by the Archduke.”
Eileen stumbled in shock.
“If you hadn’t run away from me, you wouldn’t have known until your death. Yeah, why don’t you come to me? Calmly breathe in my arms…… Be careful!”
“Ugh”.
Eileen’s tired body stumbled. Falling backwards, she made eye contact with Patrick, who reached out to her with a startled face. His eyes were widened in shock that it made Eileen laugh, something unsuited for this situation.
Her death eventually allowed her to run away from him forever.
Her short life ended just like this. She gave up and finally closed her eyes. The fact that she couldn’t live unhappily weighed so hard that she just wanted everything to end.
It was never an uneventful life.
A bitter aftertaste remained.
‘I wanted to go back to the days when I was happy.’
The time when her whole family was alive…….

Eileen blinked.
“This is…”
She was alive. She could breathe, felt the gentle wind, and continued in her thoughts. She assumed it was a dream but it was ridiculous to have a horrible dream about her death with too much detail.
Her body falling off the cliff was still vivid. In addition, everything that happened to her was too realistic to be called imagination or dream.
Eileen placed her hand to her neck in a habit. She was able to calm down a little by holding a pendant necklace that was always touched.
“Let’s go through the events one by one.”
The room, where she opened her eyes just now, was her room before marriage. And the image in the mirror…….
“What’s that?”
It’s strange that she died and suddenly came back to life, but what she couldn’t believe more was the fact that she woke up to the time before she awakened as an Omega.
“Aren’t you supposed to be awake now?”
“Eileen, how long are you going to sleep?””
She heard a knock and a voice she longed to hear outside. Eileen glanced at the door with a complicated face.
“…Brother?”
The door opened as if listening to Eileen’s request to see the person behind it. A blonde man stuck his head out. Eileen stared at Ethan’s face. He was the man with beautiful features under his golden hair. Eileen’s face was full of vitality after seeing the face she missed so much.
She still couldn’t believe that time had returned but her expectations were slowly rising in the corner of her heart.
“Brother…”
“How long will you continue to be lazy?”
Ethan strode to Eileen and took her hand. As he pulled her slightly, Eileen lowered her foot to the floor for the first time. The soles of the feet, which were stabbed by something pointy only felt the soft touch of fur, the pain completely disappeared.
“You said you have a lot to do today, what are you doing hanging out like this?”
“Today? Ah yes.”
“Okay.”
Ethan messed up Eileen’s hair. At the touch, Eileen closed her eyes. She couldn’t believe that the Ethan in front of her was real.
“You said you have something to check out today. Hurry your feet because you don’t have enough time. Get up! Uncle Cage said he’d come later.”
Eileen opened her slowly closed eyes hearing the name of her Uncle Cage.
She got the exact date after hearing her appointment. She was supposed to meet a merchant who distributes medicine. This realization made Eileen’s eyes widen in surprise.
Eileen grabbed Ethan’s hand, which was about to let go of her wrist.
“Older brother.”
“Hmm? Why?”
Eileen checked the watch while holding Ethan’s hand. He was in a hurry to leave the room but she kept holding Ethan’s hand strongly.
“Come here.”
“What is it this time?”
Ethan, who thought it was Eileen’s prank, smiled softly and let her be. However, Eileen wasn’t playing any jokes. She pulled her brother’s wrist and tightened her grip.
When Eileen was climbing the stairs, she almost tripped and fell. Ethan held her shoulder and told her to be careful, but Eileen dragged Ethan up the stairs, ignoring that she almost fell from the stairs.
“This is the attic.”
Ethan bowed slightly due to the ceiling being lower than his head.
The brilliant blonde hair flowed gently over his white face. In the midst of this, Eileen opened the door to the attic with a dazed mind. She was also bewitched by Ethan’s unnecessarily pretty face.
“Brother, hurry inside and don’t ever come out.”
“Are we playing hide-and-seek?””
The 20-year-old brother recognized what his 18-year-old sister aimed.
In the meantime, his voice gently wrapped around Eileen’s ears.
“That’s right…”
Because there’s a man coming to find you.
