“Not much besides holding hands and kissing on the lips.” Xia Feng shrugged his shoulders indifferently as he answered Cheng Zhiyan. “That’s how it is on television anyway.”
Cheng Zhiyan remained quiet as he stared at Xia Feng for a while. Finally, he opened his mouth to spit out one word, “Naive.”
After that, he made a beeline for his classroom.
“Huh, how am I naive? If that’s what you think, then why don’t you tell me what a girlfriend is for?” Being called naive had initially caught Xia Feng off guard, but being unable to swallow Cheng Zhiyan calling him naive, he’d tugged at his sleeve and continued to bug Cheng Zhiyan, asking for an explanation.
Yet regrettably, Cheng Zhiyan had resumed ignoring him.
After school was over for the day, Cheng Zhiyan packed up his things and started to walk out of the classroom.
Xia Feng, carrying his own book bag and tottering behind Cheng Zhiyan, continued to ramble on. “Um, Cheng Zhiyan, why are you walking so fast? I have something to tell you. Someone requested that I deliver something to you.”
“What is it?” Cheng Zhiyan asked indifferently as he kept walking off the school campus.
“Hee, hee, hee, take a guess. I’ll give it to you if you guess correctly.” Xia Feng had a mischievous expression on his face as he followed behind Cheng Zhiyan.
“I’m not interested.” Without even glancing at Xia Feng, Cheng Zhiyan made straight to his bike that was parked outside of the school gates. Then he stooped down to unlock it and prepared to ride away.
Xia Feng was quick-witted. With an agile leap, he swiftly sat on the back of Cheng Zhiyan’s bike. Then he exclaimed, “Cheng Zhiyan, aren’t you curious at all? Why can’t you just give it a try? Make a guess.”
“I told you, I’m not interested.” Cheng Zhiyan got on the bike, turned his head around to glance at Xia Feng, who was still sitting on the back of his bike, and appeared frustrated as he said, “Get off my bike. I’m going home.”
“I’m not getting off. If you won’t make an attempt to guess, then I’ll follow you home, and I’ll stay until you do make a guess.” Xia Feng stubbornly clung to the back of Cheng Zhiyan’s bike as he spoke.
“…”
Cheng Zhiyan felt speechless after hearing this, but he also felt too lazy to continue arguing with him, so he simply starting riding the bike home.
“Although, by the way, I’ve never played at your house before.” As he sat on the back of the bike, Xia Feng continued to talk aimlessly. “If you’re really unwilling to make a guess, just take me to your house to play. Oh, by the way, I’ve heard that you live in the Sunshine International neighborhood. That’s actually not that far from where I live.”
The bike moved forward quickly. Seeing that they were approaching the Sunshine International neighborhood, Xia Feng was overcome with excitement.
However, Cheng Zhiyan didn’t ride into the neighborhood with him. He simply stopped at the gates.
“Huh, why not go in?” Xia Feng hopped off the bike and asked Cheng Zhiyan confusedly.
“I have to go to pick someone up.” After locking the bike, he carried his book bag with him as he walked toward the kindergarten that was near the neighborhood gates.
“Kindergarten?” Xia Feng glanced at the building in front of him and tugged at the corners of his mouth as he asked, “Cheng Zhiyan, do you have other siblings? I thought single-child families were the norm right now? Does your family have more children than what is allowed?”
“Could you please shut up.”
After hearing Xia Feng ramble on and on throughout the entire ride, he finally couldn’t resist the urge to turn around and yell at him.
The on-and-on rambling finally came to an abrupt stop.
Xia Feng looked at Cheng Zhiyan with a defeated expression. He then made a zipping gesture near his mouth with his hands. Only then did Cheng Zhiyan turn around and continue to walk forward.
