- Chapter 19-1 - I’m in Trouble Because The Emperor Thinks My Time is Limited Chapter 19-1
“H, heuk! What nonsense are you talking about?”
My voice didn’t come out properly because of the hand that strangled my neck.
“You smell like me. It’s no use pretending you’re not. It seems that you were having fun amid humans, but it’s too bad that you’ve come in front of me.”
As soon as I questioned his words saying I smelled like him, there was a change in the jewel that was binding me. The black pupils were torn vertically and transformed into reptile eyes.
I already knew what those inhuman pupils were.
The cold stare made me think of Laroque.
“A-A dragon-“
There was no answer from the man, but that was enough because the long torn pupils gave off a creepy light.
The man’s true identity was a dragon.
It was only then that I understood that unreal beauty.
But I still couldn’t figure out why the man strangled me.
I tried to loosen his grip, but it was not easy to even push the man’s body away due to his formidable grip.
If the man applied a little more force to his fingertips, my fragile human neck would be broken as it is.
Physiological fear overcame me.
My survival instinct turned my eyes to the direction where Lionel left, but the man noticed my gaze and burst out laughing.
“It’s the same for the dragon of the world when stumbling to live.”
For some reason, there was a sense of anger in his ridicule.
“But to no avail. The humans you are waiting for won’t know what’s going on inside. I blocked the entrance with magic, so they will only come in after you die.”
The man lowered his head near the back of my neck. He wanted to sniff briefly, then moved only his pupils to make eye contact with me.
“But you, you smell strangely weak. Was it because the soul was separated?”
The man muttered something incomprehensible. His gaze looked at me as if evaluating me.
“Not only that, you can’t even shake off this much strength.”
“If you were like me, could you do it easily?!”
In the midst of this, I shouted vigorously.
My words asked him to think differently so I could survive. But no matter how much I prayed, I didn’t think the man would let me go.
I swung my legs forward to survive.
The man who was one-sidedly beaten in the stomach just frowned and was not pushed back at all.
“Are you really weak?”
This time, his reaction was purely surprising.
I was about to choke to death, but that’s all he said. When I thought I was really going to die, the man suddenly let go of the hand that was strangling me.
When I coughed uncontrollably due to my rapid breathing, the man stepped back and looked at me.
He responded with a strange question.
“Why?”
But I was dumbfounded.
Didn’t you mistake a normal human for a dragon and suddenly started to strangle them? This man is a true madman. No, it was a crazy dragon.
“If you can polymorph into a human form, you wouldn’t be a baby dragon that just hatched. Why are you so weak?”
“Because I’m human.”
The man frowned when I spoke weakly, rubbing my sore throat.
“Are you crazy?”
The man didn’t seem to believe me.
“If you were this weak, your mother wouldn’t have left you alone.”
“I am human.”
When I said the same thing over and over again, the man’s face turned annoyed.
“I won’t be fooled by your words, so-“
“And I don’t have a mother.”
I interrupted the man. My voice was rough and not coming out properly due to my sore throat.
“I don’t have a family to protect.”
I didn’t mean to sound sluggish, but I didn’t have any strength in my body, due to lying down for three days. A mixture of fear and irritation made my heart beat fast.
“I don’t know why you’re trying to kill me, but I don’t have any intention of dying quietly.”
“You’re a dragon.”
As soon as I finished speaking, the man caught the tail and held it/drooped.
I was angry at the man who said the same thing, but I paused for a moment at the face looking at me.
The man was expressionless.
“Even without your parents, another group would have looked after you. Dragons are selfish, it is difficult for them to admit it.”
This situation that was repeated over and over was frustrating, but that was all I could say.
“I’m human!”
The man bit his lip at my evil cry.
