- Chapter 20-1 - I’m in Trouble Because The Emperor Thinks My Time is Limited Chapter 20-1
“Were you abandoned?”
I thought, looking at the man, or Melanie who was making a weird sound.
‘What’s wrong with this crazy guy?’
I couldn’t answer because I couldn’t understand what he meant. He asked something else this time.
“Did they make you like that?”
“Those guys?”
“Dragons.”
Melanie’s face had an eerie feel for a moment.
“Is it a dragon’s work?”
The nuance of the words was strange, but I nodded after a short thought.
It was a contract with Laroque that made me like this, so the dragon misunderstood me.
“Is that what it is?”
Melanie stood in place and kept his head down. He looked worried about something.
‘What’s wrong with him?’
Melaine looked very serious.
I rolled my eyes for a moment in the rapidly sinking atmosphere. He was acting like he was going to kill me right away, but now he didn’t seem interested in my life.
Thanks to that, I was able to move my body little by little.
I was confused because my weak legs weren’t working, but I couldn’t help but be mesmerized.
But before I fully got up, I made eye contact with Melanie.
Before I knew it, the owner of the jewel eyes returned to his human form and was looking at me.
Melanie was intently staring at me as I stopped hesitantly.
“Don’t you want revenge?”
“What?”
A little shrill sound came out of my mouth because I was caught moving.
“Don’t you want to get back at the guy who tried to kill you?”
The low-pitched voice felt dull as if reading a book. However, the eyes that became like those of humans gave off a more ominous vibe.
“I’ll help you if you want.”
I answered with bewilderment.
“You were going to kill me.”
He was the one who tried to kill me for no reason, but I can’t believe he’s going to help me get revenge.
From my perspective, the worst person here was Melanie himself.
Therefore, it was natural that my face was frowned upon.
“You’re the worst bastard.”
I muttered my mind unconsciously. Melanie’s rapidly hardening face finally made me realize what I was saying.
“You snout!”
This stupid big mouth of mine just had to make an accident. It seemed like everything would go smoothly, but my mouth caused an accident.
Melanie scrunched his face violently and clenched his fist strongly. I had to look at Melanie’s face impatiently for his response.
I didn’t know when the offended Melanie, would attack me again.
But instead of getting angry at me, he buried his face in his hands and made a distressing voice.
“I was doing the same thing after all…”
Melanie was distressed.
He murmured a few more words, but I couldn’t tell what he was saying because his face was buried in his hand.
‘What is it this time?’
It was a very difficult response understandably. It seemed that I, who is a normal person, could not keep up with the crazy dragon’s thought process.
The dragon’s rapidly changing mood made me realize it while looking at him with a disgusted face.
I had to find a way out this time.
Melanie stood there in the middle of the path that led to the door, so I couldn’t see the right path.
The strange stalemate continued.
As Melanie suffered longer, my expression grew more uncomfortable.
He lowered his trembling hand and threw an uneasy look at me again.
The faltering approach seemed precarious, but I was rekindling the tension that had disappeared.
I didn’t have a clue what that crazy dragon was going to do.
“I…”
When Melanie spoke with trembling lips, the white door opened behind his back with a loud sound as if it were breaking.
Our eyes naturally turned that way.
Boom!
The next moment, there was a loud explosion and I could feel the heat.
It was Lionel who appeared from the wide open door.
There was a little smoke coming from the tip of Lionel’s hand and I belatedly realized what he had done.
As he hurriedly turned his head toward where Melaine was, as expected, he was looking at his raised arm with a firm expression.
The arm that was raised to prevent Lionel’s attack melted all the hem of his clothes, revealing his skin.
There was a clear black mark on his arm.
“How did you open it?”
