It’s Not Night - Chapter 65
Chapter 65
The view brightened.
‘This place…’
Andra saw the long, adorned fingers wrapped around her shoulders, and she realized that she was peeking into Anat’s memories again. She must have fallen asleep. How many more times would this happen?
She looked around and saw that she was now on the watchtower. Her gray hair fluttered wildly in the cold, rough wind.
“Anat, he’s just a human.”
Nera, the owner of the fingers, whispered in a gentle voice.
“This transpired perhaps due to Basham’s prank. Why do you care so much about that human?”
Nera added in a hoarse voice. But Andra did not answer. No words came out of her throat. Instead, she was just staring at Dean, alone in the distance.
Dean was hunting. He hunted animals mercilessly. Kill and kill again. He knew only how to kill. Every time the beasts’ stomachs were wrenched open, their intestines poured out, and dark red blood covered them. At this point, Dean became like a beast himself, not human.
It felt strange to just watch him like this. She just couldn’t take her eyes off of him. She was worried about how isolated that poor human would be, and despite it all, she felt sorry for the foolish man who mistreated her body. More than anything else, she wanted to keep looking even though she was already watching, and even when she was watching him, her heart was empty. Andra couldn’t take her eyes off Dean.
“Anat.”
When Andra didn’t say anything, Nera shook her body with a nervous look. Then a stream ran down Andra’s cheek. It dropped and fell to her feet.
Seeing this, Nera looked at Andra bewildered. Andra thought that Nera’s face was so unfamiliar to her. She was angry, and amazed to see the person who pretended to be kind bewildered to some extent. Apart from her mood.
“My sister, our Anat. Why are you crying?”
Nera hastily asked Andra.
“What made you cry so much? Why are you crying for a human?”
She wipes the tears for her with cold fingers. Nera looked like she was really worried. To Nera, Andra was opening her mouth with a wet voice. Of course it wasn’t her will, it was Anat’s will.
“Nera, why am I so sad? As you said, he’s just a human, but why does looking at him make me greedy?”
“Anat…”
“I want him by my side. I want him. I want him to look at me. I hope he spends time with me and smiles at me. Why am I like this? Is this what you call greed?”
Tears kept flowing from the corners of her eyes. Nera shook her head at Andra’s question.
“No, no, that’s…”
But Nera couldn’t say it until the end. Maybe it’s because it’s a feeling she doesn’t even know about. Andra was clutching at her chest and shedding tears. She appealed to Nera.
“Nera, my sister. It hurts here. Why, why do I have to suffer like this? Call Mother. I feel so strange Nera, please.”
She grabbed Nera while weeping and spewed out several words—she didn’t even know what she was saying. Her chest pounded heavily and her breath was lodged at her throat. It was so suffocating. Just as she fell in love with Dean against her will, this too might be Basham’s prank.
“Basham, Basham! What the hell have you done to me! You said it was a prank! Why hasn’t the prank ended?!”
Her legs gave out beneath her. Andra couldn’t stand upright and threw herself into Nera’s arms, screaming. Nera did not know what to do with Andra. As if she had never expected it, her vision darkened in an instant, with the last sight of Nera’s hardening face.
Andra closed her eyes.
“I think I want you.”
And when Andra opened her eyes again, Dean was standing in front of her. The man looked puzzled. He stiffened, unable to believe what he had heard. The fluttering eyelashes, as if in bewilderment, were saying so. Andra walked over to him. The distance between the two quickly narrowed.
“Dean, you asked me before. Did I ever love you?”
“ …….”
“I want to love you from now on. If this feeling of wanting you could be love.”
Tears welled up from the man’s eyes. The tears that flowed like jade beads became a river and did not know how to stop.
Dean began to cry like a child. He acted like someone who couldn’t control his emotions. He wept and wept and wept. Andra quietly reached out her hand and wiped his tears away.
“I’m sorry I didn’t notice earlier.”
“You really… are the most cruel person.”
Andra nodded her head at Dean’s words that were drowning in tears. Yes I know. The man spreads his arms wide. Andra opened her arms and fell into his embrace. The deep, hot warmth seemed to engulf her. Andra closed her eyes.
“I will love you with all my life… There is only one thing I want. That you will love me, too.”
“Yes…”
A god is in love.
Was this fine?
But right now, she thought that she didn’t want to do anything in this warmth. She held him close as she felt her whole body was crumbling. She embraced him as much as she loved him. For this moment, she just wanted to hug him tight.
She didn’t even know what the end of this love would be.
Suddenly, the view changed once more.
‘This place…’
“Ah…”
Before Andra could grasp her situation, Dean’s lips started at her collarbone and climbed up to the nape of her neck. Her body slowly heated up at the explicit kiss. An exhilarating breath escaped her mouth.
“What are you thinking about?”
Andra didn’t focus on him and looked away for a moment, and the man bit her earlobe as if to punish her. It didn’t hurt, but even that was irritating to her, and she let out a small moan and rubbed her body.
“No, just…”
As she looked over Dean’s shoulder, where Andra was now, it seemed to be the bedroom in Anat’s memory that she saw the first time she went into Anat’s memory.
A luxurious room overflowing with all kinds of jewels and gold. Andra was lying on the bed there, intertwined with Dean, just like the last time.
“Focus on me.”
The man couldn’t stand it anymore, and rubbed Andra’s round shoulder. It was like a petty punishment, and it didn’t hurt. Rather, it tickled. Dean’s large hand pulled the half-pulled hem of the robe completely to the floor. He began to caress the woman who became naked in an instant.
“Mmngh…”
Andra decided to focus only on him, as Dean said.
A soft and gentle love affair continued all night. The man knew very well what the woman wanted, where she felt better and where she cried. It was an act close to a dedicated service to her. The man was obsessed with constantly touching and kneading Andra’s skin.
So she was able to entrust her body over and over to the hot gaze that looked at her.
“Dean.”
Someone sat at the bedside and stroked Andra’s body with a large hand. Andra knew the owner of the touch well.
“Sleep some more.”
“I love your touch.”
“Then I am glad. It is an honor to be able to reach you like this.”
The man’s fingertips tickled Andra’s ear. Andra couldn’t stand it and let out a low laugh at her. Yes, like that… Andra closed her eyes and began to feel each one of his hands, which continued to caress her. Big, rough but warm hands. The warmth tickles her heart. Happiness filled her chest.
“You can’t leave.”
“God, you are speaking something obvious.”
At Andra’s words, Dean whispered earnestly. So satisfied with the answer, Andra reached out her hand and took his hand, which gently caressed her skin. Then she dug into his knuckles and interlocked them.
“Stay like this for a moment…”
Andra took the warmth of his hand and went to sleep. She just had the thought that she would only wish time had stopped as it was. But at a certain moment, she wanted to open her eyes.
Before she could even open her eyes, the soft tongue squeezed her lips. The suffocating kiss began.
* * *
Dustin returned to the academy without finding any answers. And he was now in front of Andra’s dormitory.
‘Why am I here…’
Dustin looked confused as he looked around where he was standing. Before he realized it, he was already in Andra’s room. Her room was the same as he had seen before. All of a sudden he found the bedroom with a dim light streaming over it.
It’s late at night when not a single cry of the grasshoppers could be heard. Andra seemed to have turned the lights on in the middle of the night and was doing something alone. He slowly hid himself and walked towards the bedroom. Through the half-open door, he saw Andra sleeping, lying over the desk.
Maybe she was writing and organizing her research before this, but her desk was cluttered with pens, notebooks and books. The light that was pouring was also coming from the lamp placed on the desk. Standing in front of the door, Dustin let out a low sigh.
‘Even at the historical site, she buried her face in a book in the archives and didn’t budge, and it’s the same here.’
Dustin strode inside and looked at Andra. Scrolls and metal discs from the dungeon were scattered around her, who was breathing quietly. He looked down at Andra for a moment, then gently grabbed her to lay her on the bed.
Dustin, who gently laid Andra on her bed, looked down at her for a moment. Her blonde hair, shining as softly as a golden wheat field, still gleamed, and her skin, as white as a child’s, shone transparently. Besides, her sharp nose, peach-like cheeks, and rosy lips… It’s a pity he couldn’t see her eyes as they were closed, but he knew that those eyes would have resembled the blue sky.
Andra was more beautiful than anyone else.
‘Since when ….’
Did Andra look beautiful?
Dustin kept staring at Andra without realizing it.
At some point, he couldn’t take his eyes off her.
It was only recently that he began to carefully examine Andra’s appearance. He looked at Andra from head to toe, as if he couldn’t miss a single thing.
It was like an imprint on his mind. What shape the eyebrows were, where that particular mole was, how small her hands were. Even the smallest details, he traced them with his eyes one by one. He couldn’t stop doing this, even though he realized how funny and absurd he was being.
‘It’s really strange. She had such a disgusting face.’
In fact, Dustin wasn’t particularly interested in Andra’s appearance before. It was because he had not previously wanted to give Avellin’s famous daughter any attention. Moreover, they were so contemptuous towards each other, so would the other person’s appearance catch his eye?
They hated each other so much while they were busy tearing each other apart.
