It’s Not Too Late To Love You - Chapter 52
Chapter 52: Both Of Us Are Going To Make The Headlines
Yun Shanshan jumped and stopped crying. She stared at Chi Wan, and suddenly let out a hiccup.
Chi Wan was amused but held back an urge to laugh.
Yun Shanshan blushed and was about to cover her mouth when she hiccupped again!
Eventually, she simply could not make it stop…
Chi Wan could not hold it anymore and burst into laughter.
Yun Shanshan’s face had turned a bright shade of scarlet.
“Alright, since you had good intentions, I won’t pursue this matter any further.” Chi Wan calmed down. “However, Shanshan, this is the first and also the last time that I’ll tell you this. It’s fine for you to do whatever you want, but you must discuss your plans with me beforehand.”
When the girl nodded violently, Chi Wan added, “Just this time. No more excuses.”
Yun Shanshan held up three fingers immediately. “I swear, hic… It won’t happen again, hic!”
Sister Wan seemed cold and unapproachable on the outside, but she was, in fact, kind-hearted and easy to get along with.
Chi Wan patted her head. Yun Shanshan then asked nervously, “Sister Wan, what about you and Second Young Master Wen…”
Chi Wan cut her off impatiently. “Thanks to you, both of us are going to make the headlines!”
“Really really really? Lemme have a look!”
Yun Shanshan revealed her rubbernecking personality as she turned on her laptop, and her pitiful appearance vanished at once.
As expected, the headings of many major websites displayed news pieces such as “Deeply in Love, Celebrity Chi Wan and Wealthy Young Master Spent a Passionate Night in the Same Room”.
Under the headline, there was a high-resolution photo that showed Chi Wan, who was wrapped in a towel and caught in Wen Mo’s embrace.
“Last night, both of you, hehe…” Yun Shanshan giggled mischievously.
Chi Wan brandished a fruit knife that glinted brightly under the light. She grinned menacingly, “You said?”
Yun Shanshan muttered hastily, “…Such fine weather today!”
Chi Wan scoffed. “Stop messing around. The press conference of the film is today. We’ll be late if we don’t make a move now.”
“Ok ok!”
After she changed into another set of clothes and groomed herself, Chi Wan left her apartment.
On the way, Yun Shanshan asked, “Sister Wan, where’s your manager? He’s not even at the press conference. That’s so unprofessional of him!”
Chi Wan was silent for a moment, then she spoke, “After two months, my new manager will take over.”
There was a clause in the contract she signed with Mu Yunshen which stated that the company would reassign her a first-class manager.
Joy had probably received wind of this.
She just hoped that this calculative man would not try to stir up trouble because of this matter.
After she arrived at the press conference, Chi Wan sat on an adjacent seat as she was the second female lead.
She would not speak unnecessarily unless the reporters interviewed her.
Unfortunately, the media was more interested in her romance with Wen Mo than her role in the film.
When the reporters asked about Wen Mo, a regular B-list celebrity would have tried ways and means to steal the limelight.
However, Chi Wan had always been an oddball.
“My apologies, this is a press conference for a film, not a personal interview with the media. Apart from questions related to the film, I won’t answer anything else.”
The reporters could not do anything, for Chi Wan had tactfully shifted the subject to the film.
When the press conference ended, the director told Chi Wan where and when the cameras would start rolling and asked her to be ready.
She counted the days. The cameras would roll and she would start filming twenty days later. She would spend about a month filming in this city before traveling outstation for on-location shooting. Once she returned, she could break up with Wen Mo naturally.
