Chapter 437: Chapter 437 Shooting Competition_1
When Julius Reed left, rumors had already begun to spread through Gonzalez City.
Almost immediately, the news that Itai Huntington was intimately involved with a man swept through the entire Gonzalez City like a tornado.
And the person involved, Julius Reed, was wandering around the shooting range, looking for Itai Huntington.
Dexter naturally didn’t dare to retaliate, as the four words “Itai Huntington” were like a death warrant, terrifying to everyone who heard them.
Who would dare to oppose Itai Huntington?
That would surely be asking for a death wish.
“Yo! Isn’t this the ‘Freeloader King of Gonzalez City’, ‘The Radcliffe Family’s Son-in-law’, Julius Reed, Mr. Reed himself?”
Just as Julius Reed was searching for Itai Huntington, a familiar voice rang out from behind him.
He turned around and saw that it was Zane Percival, who had intended to trouble him that day.
Zane Percival had evidently learned of his identity through Bran Cook, which wasn’t surprising at all.
He would have learned sooner or later, and it made no difference anyway.
When Zane Percival spoke of a son-in-law, he purposely called him a ‘dog son-in-law’ to insult Julius Reed.
They say a son-in-law is no better than a dog, and that was exactly his implication.
“What does Young Master Percival want here? Surely you’re not following me?”
Julius Reed looked him over with interest.
Zane Percival, thanks to his family’s not so minor assets, counted as one of Bran Cook’s several loyal ‘dogs’.
After all, even to play the role of a dog, one needs certain credentials.
“Bullshit! I come here often, but how did you manage to sneak in?”
Zane Percival raised an eyebrow and said, “Your wife’s company is about to go bankrupt, I heard she just managed to get a bank loan, and now you’re out here enjoying yourself?”
He rolled his eyes and chuckled, “I’ve always been puzzled, why previously no bank would grant your wife’s company a loan, and now they’ve all agreed? Could it be that your wife, behind your back, has been ‘accommodating’ these bankers?”
Laughter erupted behind him.
The Gonzalez City shooting range, an entertainment center for the wealthy.
Zane Percival showing up here naturally meant a bunch of lackeys followed.
The ones from the KTV before were this lot.
Their family backgrounds were quite decent, or they wouldn’t have been able to hang out together.
Seeing Zane Percival humiliate Quella Radcliffe, they all joined in the jeering.
“Do you want to know why?”
Julius Reed asked with a mysterious air.
“Of course, I’m very curious how your wife, at the same time…”
Bang!
Julius Reed threw a punch, sending Kairo Percival kneeling on the ground.
“What the hell! You dare to start a fight!”
“You’ve hurt Younger Percival, you’re not going to get away with this!”
“Such nerve!”
Those young men hadn’t expected Julius Reed to act so swiftly and decisively, completely unprepared.
Zane Percival was kneeling on the ground, his face reddening to a purplish hue: “You… you damn dare to hit me! You waste of space! I… I’m going to kill you!”
Being kicked by a son-in-law, Young Master Percival wouldn’t need to bother going out anymore.
He couldn’t face anyone after this!
“What is going on here!”
The security at the Gonzalez City shooting range, upon hearing the commotion, immediately rushed over and surrounded them.
“Someone hit me! This piece of trash!”
Zane Percival held onto his belly, struggling to stand up.
“Did you hit him?”
The security approached Julius Reed, scrutinizing him closely.
Looking very unfamiliar, he must be here for the first time.
“What’s wrong?”
A woman’s voice rang out, prompting everyone to clear a path.
It was Itai Huntington, graceful and poised as she approached with a smile on her face, “What happened while I was shooting some rounds?”
“Sister Huntington!”
Upon seeing Itai Huntington approaching, Zane Percival hurriedly greeted her with respect.
No one dared to provoke Itai Huntington, and neither could he.
“This man hit me! I want to teach him a lesson!”
Zane Percival pointed at Julius Reed, speaking with spite.
“It’s normal for men to have some conflicts. But everyone here is a person of dignity; there should be some element of a gentleman’s duel, right?”
Itai Huntington said with a smile, “Resorting to violence immediately is just too crude.”
With her chastising him, Zane Percival had no choice but to swallow his anger, looking at Julius Reed with unwillingness in his eyes.
“You all can disperse now!”
Itai Huntington waved her hand, and the security staff immediately left.
Meanwhile, the people in the café had heard the commotion outside and came out one after another to see what was happening.
And to their astonishment, they found Itai Huntington standing with the man who had hit someone.
This sparked another round of discussion among them.
“Gentleman? Fine! I propose a shooting contest! This place is a shooting range after all. Let’s shoot! The loser should kneel down and apologize!”
Zane Percival’s eyes twinkled as he sneered, “Mr. Reed wouldn’t chicken out, would he?”
In his opinion, a son-in-law who lived off his wife certainly hadn’t been to such a place before; aside from shooting, he probably couldn’t even handle a gun!
“Of course, you can refuse, but I’ve offered you a gentleman’s way out. If you don’t care about your reputation, I’m afraid I can’t do as Sister Huntington suggested.”
He was unaware of the relationship between Julius Reed and Itai Huntington, since his circle would never be privy to such information.
Furthermore, there truly was no relationship between them.
So Zane Percival assumed Itai Huntington’s appearance was merely to smooth things over.
This widow frequented the place often, practicing her shooting whenever she had the chance.
“Shooting contest, eh? That does sound like a fine idea, but kneeling and apologizing seems insufficient, doesn’t it?”
Julius Reed scratched his head and said, “How about this instead? The loser has all his teeth knocked out. Your mouth is too foul; you insulted my girlfriend just now.”
“If you’re seeking your own destruction, that’s not my problem! Since it’s come to this, I’ll indulge you, and you shall fully become someone who lives off a woman! Let’s see how you eat when you have no teeth left!”
Zane Percival was initially taken aback, then laughed heartily, “You’ll have to drink porridge!”
The rest of the crowd also joined in, mocking, as if they were all waiting to see Julius Reed embarrassed.
“Let me tell you, losers like you shouldn’t even dream of standing up for themselves. What do you have to compete with me?”
Zane Percival gave a disdainful snort.
The man was clearly digging his own grave!
“Zane Percival is very good with a gun; he’s among the top three in the entire club,”
Itai Huntington intervened to remind.
What Zane Percival was doing was obviously a trap laid for Julius Reed.
If Julius Reed agreed, there was no chance of winning!
And the loss would be miserable!
Even though Itai Huntington knew Julius Reed was formidable, there are specialists in every field, and when it came to shooting, Zane Percival was definitely in the top five in the province!
He had even won awards for his skills.
“No problem, I’ll make sure he’s utterly convinced, right? I’ll make it easy for you; this is your last chance. Are we set on a shooting contest?”
Julius Reed said carelessly.
“Yes! Today, Sister Huntington and all the people around are witnesses,”
Zane Percival pointed to the many onlookers who had come to watch the excitement: “Ten shots. Whoever scores the most, wins!”
The more people there were, the happier he was!
After all, he needed as many people as possible to witness Julius Reed getting his teeth knocked out!
To see him kneel down and beg like a dog!
Once the news spread, Bran Cook would surely hold him in higher regard!
