Jianfeng-
The day was bright and sunny.
The slim, graceful girl wore Jianfeng’s blue and white clothes, her long double-edged sword shining like snow, casting electric light. Each move was magnificent, the style refined, and the deadly qi of her sword burst into the air. Her posture was excellent as she executed her moves, flying fast with the litheness of a swan, as powerful as a soaring dragon.
Magnetic and fiery.
Until moonlight and a pair of bewitching violet eyes suddenly intruded on her thoughts.
The sword tip that had been steady as a rock shook, beautiful eyes abruptly sharpened, and the blade turned into a closing move, violently retracting the sword’s momentum, along with the overflowing murderous qi. Her ice-blue ribbon dazzled in the sunshine, floating in sharp curves before softly and slowly falling back onto the girl’s silky black hair.
The boy’s voice had been clear and relaxed.
—-“My name is Xia Ge.”
–Xia Ge, –Xia Ge.
Summertime……and a lasting song.
Icy tip of the sword touching the ground, Chu Yao’s exquisite face managed to slightly cool down.
……only a runt trying to be a hero, not someone worthy of Chu Yao’s constant recollection!
“Chi—–”
Cutting a deep, cold scar in the soil, the girl retracted her sword with a backhand, the sound of the sharp blade grazing the scabbard crisp and pleasing to the ears.
“Hello, Sister Chu. I hear you went down the mountain again?”
Chu Yao moved to face the source of the sound. There, amongst the trees of the mountain, stood a girl dressed in blue, embroidered silver butterflies covering her sleeves. Chuckling lightly, she covered her mouth for a moment, hiding her white teeth. Eyes bright, with a witty gleam, she looked absolutely elfin.
However, the coldness in Chu Yao’s gaze did not abate in the slightest: “That’s got nothing to do with you.”
“How could it not have something to do with me?” The girl also wore a long sword at her waist, and her large, round eyes resembled Chu Yao’s. “The opportunity to see Sister’s valiant appearance is rare. I do so regret it in my heart. That I wasn’t able to hurry down the mountain fast enough last night to see you in action.”
“Shut up.” Chu Yao’s tone was as frigid as her eyes: “Chu Yi, don’t think you can do whatever you please just because you’ve entered Jianfeng!”
“Oh?” The girl faintly quirked an eyebrow, her black pupils turned chilly, but a smile still perching on her lips: “How could you say ‘do whatever you please’ to me? Sister, you’re too much. Not willing to give your own little sister even a tiny bit of face. Is there not a deep sisterly affection between us……”
“……ai, never mind.”
Meeting Chu Yao’s indifference, Chu Yi flippantly chuckled again: “I thought that Jianfeng, the place my sister always frets over in her heart, was a good place……but instead it’s like this.”
The girl’s soft, long hair draped over her shoulders, tied back by a light blue ribbon, while the silver butterflies on her sleeves were so lifelike, it seemed they’d fly away at any moment. And, although the shape and size of her eyes strongly resembled Chu Yao’s light brown orbs, Chu Yi’s eyes were pure black.
Chu Yao did not move.
Chu Yi gave a tiny smile, gaze mocking: “It’s just so awesome. Sister Chu, the one and only Sister Chu of Jianfeng who’s willing to dash down the mountain, actually caring about the life or death of those outer disciples……oh, how it makes people idolize her.”
Chu Yao stared coldly at the other girl.
“Chu Yao, how conceited are you? Playacting ‘Savior’ for your audience……” Chu Yi snickered under her breath, “I really don’t know……when will I be able to tear away your arrogant skin? When will I see this proud child of heaven bloody and mangled……”
Swish—-
Ice-cold leaves undid a hair bun, Chu Yi’s voice abruptly pausing.
The sharp leaves had severed three hairs from her head. Chu Yi giggled as they plunged separately into the trunk of a Wutong tree behind her.
A slender white hand on the hilt of her sword, a celestial-like Chu Yao stared at Chu Yi with light brown eyes and licked her lips.
She took one step in Chu Yi’s direction.
A breeze blew, one leaf flying towards Chu Yao. Without a sound, it was dissected into four pieces and left to flutter tidily to the ground.
Chu Yi took an involuntary step back. After that small retreat, she was shocked to realize that she actually……couldn’t move anymore!
She could only helplessly watch as Chu Yao, like a god of murder, cold air surging from her body, came closer step by step……until Chu Yao stood before Chu Yi.
—-“Now I……I truly want to see your heart-rending mutilated appearance, Chu Yi.”
Chu Yao was clearly a delicate and pretty young lady, yet her every syllable was dense with bloodthirstiness. Being stared at by those wild, ferocious light brown eyes, Chu Yi shivered head to toe, that murderous aura piercing every inch of her skin like a needle—-
—-She’ll die!
Certainly……she’ll be killed!!
For a fleeting second, Chu Yi heartily regretted pulling the tiger’s beard while still a fledgling herself.
In the end……too impetuous?
Pupils slightly shrinking, Chu Yi’s body wouldn’t stop trembling from extreme nervousness.
Her chin was suddenly raised by ice-cold fingers.
Her black pupils reflected light brown eyes in a sneering face.
“Oh, scared huh?”
Chu Yi kept her mouth clamped shut, not a word escaping.
Mockery filled Chu Yao’s eyes: “Truly, truly unsightly……”
Cold fingers slowly made their way down to hold Chu Yi’s neck.
While cold sweat drenched Chu Yi’s back.
“I can do as I like. Jianfeng can be as it likes. Understand?”
“Best you don’t let me see you again.”
“I, Chu Yao, do everything well. Except recognizing my own family.
“Trash.”
