Monster Logger - Chapter 26
Chapter 26 Golden Resin
Soon, with a low growl from the leader, the remaining Wind Speed Dogs slowly left with their leader.
The Wind Speed Dog that Qin Ming had saved walked a few steps with the team. Suddenly, it turned around and looked at Qin Ming, who was standing on the spot, and whimpered.
It was calling for Qin Ming to follow. Qin Ming thought for a moment. Those Two-Tailed Leopards might not have gone far. Now that they had formed a grudge, it would be difficult for him to escape if he encountered them alone in the future.
Now, he was confident that he could kill a Two-Tailed Leopard one-on-one.
If it was one against two, he could at most win with some injuries. If it was one against three, he could run even if he couldn’t win.
But if there were more Two-Tailed Leopards, it was hard to say if he could escape.
It was already the third day. Even if there was no hope of completing the third evolution mission, he wanted to stay alive for five days.
The leader glanced at Qin Ming and did not say anything.
Clearly, Qin Ming had fought against the Two-Tailed Leopards alongside them just now, which had more or less brought them closer.
At the very least, those Wind Speed Dogs no longer had any resistance towards Qin Ming and seemed to have accepted him.
He followed the Wind Speed Dogs on a long journey.
An hour later, they came to a huge tree.
This tree was bronze in color and about 50 meters long. It was so thick that even five or six adults holding hands would not be able to reach all the way around it.
It was much larger than the surrounding trees and was quite conspicuous.
This was the lair of the Wind Speed Dog Pack.
In addition to the Wind Speed Dogs that were out, there were also 30 to 40 Wind Speed Dogs waiting under the tree.
When they saw that it was Qin Ming and the others, they first looked up before lying back down.
Clearly, they were all companions of the same pack and were very familiar with each other.
The Wind Speed Dog that was saved by Qin Ming took the initiative to come to Qin Ming’s side and brought him to the tree to rest.
Qin Ming saw that the leader had also come under the tree. It stretched out its front claws and dug at the thick tree trunk.
A few cracks appeared on the bark, and some golden resin flowed out from these cracks.
Then, one by one, the injured Wind Speed Dogs came to the leader’s side and smeared the golden resin on their wounds.
The resin was like honey that gradually solidified on the wounds of these Wind Speed Dogs.
What is this? Qin Ming was puzzled.
The Wind Speed Dog that Qin Ming saved had already returned to his side covered in resin. It barked at him.
It meant that he should apply some too.
Curious, Qin Ming walked over to the leader.
When the leader saw Qin Ming coming over, it did not reject him. It also applied resin on a few wounds on Qin Ming’s body.
Qin Ming felt a cooling sensation on his hot and painful wounds.
Not only did it quickly stop the bleeding, but his wounds also gradually healed and became less painful.
Qin Ming realized that this golden resin actually had a healing effect.
And the effect seemed to be quite good.
Some of the subtle wounds scabbed over in a few minutes and completely healed.
No wonder these Wind Speed Dogs chose this tree as their base, Qin Ming thought.
If he discovered that the resin of this big tree had such an effect, he would also take it for himself.
With such a huge tree, the resin was almost inexhaustible.
This was a treasure tree.
Qin Ming looked at the bronze tree again and again, studying the resin.
Although this resin was a treasure, it was a pity that it only had the ability to treat external injuries.
If a spirit monster swallowed it, it would be useless.
He thought, If this resin is beneficial to the evolution of spirit monsters, it’d probably have been devoured by other powerful spirit monsters long ago. Why would it continue to be here?
Late at night, Qin Ming rested in the lair of the Wind Speed Dogs.
He decided to follow this group of Wind Speed Dogs for a while and observe how they usually moved around. At the same time, he would try to find any traces of natural treasures that might appear.
At this point, the only way he could think of to evolve was to devour rare heavenly treasures.
Even if the chances of him finding them were slim, he had to try.
That was the plan, but something unexpected always happened in reality.
The next morning, before dawn.
The group of Two-Tailed Leopards followed their trail and found the Wind Speed Dog’s lair.
This time, there were even more of them. There were nearly a hundred of them.
This was the first time Qin Ming had seen such a large-scale operation.
The first to notice the commotion was the Wind Speed Dog leader. He let out a warning roar.
Only then did Qin Ming open his eyes in a daze.
It was dark all around, but behind the bushes in the distance, he could vaguely see dozens of pairs of slightly red beastly eyes staring at him.
The Two-Tailed Leopards had made a comeback so quickly and had directly surrounded the Wind Speed Dog’s lair. This was something Qin Ming had not expected.
There are so many of them. It’s a huge problem… Qin Ming looked around and felt a headache coming on. He didn’t expect there to be so many Two-Tailed Leopards.
There were only about 50 Wind Speed Dogs here, but there were nearly 100 of them.
In terms of numbers, they were already completely crushed.
The Wind Speed Dogs were in a very dangerous situation now.
This was the cruelty of the spirit monster world. If one was not careful, one might be exterminated.
Their only advantage was that they had a Level Two leader.
Among the Two-Tailed Leopards, there was no such Second Realm combat power.
But even so, Qin Ming still didn’t think highly of the Wind Speed Dog Pack.
He had seen the strength of that leader before. It was very strong, but it was far from enough to make up for the difference in numbers.
Otherwise, they wouldn’t have suffered such a huge loss when they fought the Two-Tailed Leopards.
Qin Ming saw that the Two-Tailed Leopards’ encirclement was the same as the previous encounter. They planned to capture them in one fell swoop and completely cut off the Wind Speed Dogs and Qin Ming’s escape route.
Even if Qin Ming wanted to escape, he didn’t have the chance.
He was prepared to die in battle. Thus, the death battle of the pack officially began.
This time, Qin Ming didn’t hold back at all. In order to protect himself, he went all out to kill as many Two-Tailed Leopards as he could.
The scene quickly became bloody. Blood and flesh flew everywhere.
Even though the Wind Speed Dogs were at a complete disadvantage in terms of numbers, they were very cohesive. With a command from the leader, no one except Qin Ming wanted to escape.
A few minutes later, after Qin Ming severely injured five or six Two-tailed Leopards, a long wound was torn open on his back by the Two-Tailed Leopards. It was enough to affect his subsequent movements.
He endured the pain and jumped onto a tree branch to catch his breath.
His claws cut open the bark and saw the golden resin flowing out. He immediately rolled on the branch twice to let the resin cover the wound on his back.
Although it wouldn’t heal for a while, at least the bleeding stopped.
