Chapter 51 – In A Fit Of Anger
Regardless of her feelings, Aileen opened her mouth again, “Miss Ashia Bliss.”
“Yes.”
It was that expression again. Aileen instantly erased her embarrassment and continued her words with a face close to apathy. Ashia saw that expression on her face. Lisa’s expression was just like that when tried to ruin her work.
“…Please speak.” Ashia narrowed her eyes as she looked at Aileen.
Aileen pursed her lips into a straight line with a calm look. “You said you love the Grand Duke Kaligo.”
“And so?”
“Aren’t you hoping for his happiness?”
“…”
“You will be a weakness in his path.”
“…”
“I can give him wings. I can even give him the throne of this empire if he wants it.”
The original now tried a different method—from coaxing to intimidation. Aileen’s words now sounded more like the original rather than her own thoughts. Ashia knew that, and even when she already knew that, her heart was still seething.
“Do you want him to fall?”
“Haa…”
‘Calm down. She isn’t in control right now.’
Ashia’s heart pounded wildly like a raft in a stormy sea. She took a few deep breaths as she tried to calm down herself. But as if laughing at Ashia’s feeble struggle, Aileen even added the following.
“You are not in the position to be greedy for him.”
“…I beg your pardon?”
Ashia’s eyebrows furrowed deeper.
‘I guess it had to come to this.’
Ashia quietly stood up from her seat. “Did you fall in love at first sight with His Excellency the Grand Duke?”
“…”
She walked towards the tightly closed door. “Or did that close friend of yours make you do this? I am talking about Lisa.”
Aileen’s gaze turned back to Ashia when she said Lisa’s name.
“…Do you know Lisa?”
“Yes, I know her.”
“How…”
“…A person who takes people’s lives lightly for their own greed.”
“…”
She unlocked the locked door. The uncomfortable friction sound echoed as the metal collided against metal.
“I think the friend who needed that medicine was Lisa.”
“…Yes.”
“Did the medicine work?”
“Yes… thankfully.”
“I see… I didn’t expect that the medicine I made would make her get better.”
‘What an extremely ill-fated relationship.’
In a way, Lisa was the female lead in this empire. It wasn’t certain, but it could only be called an end if only one of them (Ashia and Lisa) died.
‘And what’s more, the pair of the female lead and the Magic Tower’s Master (Aileen and Lisa)…’
It was a combination she had never dreamed of in the original.
“…To think that Your Royal Highness is close to such a person. I am afraid it will hurt your reputation.”
“…”
“Do you know that it’s easy to become like someone you’re close to? It would be a big trouble if Lisa’s shamelessness and greedy heart started to act up.”
Ashia opened the store door widely with a generous smile. Her hair fluttered as the cold wind blew into the store. Her chest felt refreshed. As she slowly closed her eyes and inhaled the wind for a moment, she turned towards Aileen. Aileen’s face had already turned pale.
“…Greed?”
The word greed would not suit a woman who was revered as a saint in her own land. Aileen grinned. She stared at Ashia as she clenched her sweaty fist.
The wind from the opened door shook Ashia’s hair and dress. She continued to talk as she brushed her platinum-blond hair behind her ear.
“I will try to be more straightforward from now on.”
Ashia’s words weren’t directed to Aileen, but to the original novel—as if she was looking at it, as if it was listening to her.
“If he were here, he would have accepted my love right away and offered to be my lover, but what a pity he isn’t.”
‘Don’t you think so?’
She smiled leisurely. Ashia no longer had any plans to run away. She was now entangled with both the male and female lead she had been avoiding. She even thought that she should make the original regret that she was thrown in front of the main characters—whether it was through courage, stubbornness, or fits of anger.
“Please go back safely. I will send you off here.”
“…” Aileen rose from her seat and picked up her coat. “Miss Ashia Bliss…” she walked slowly and called Ashia in a weak voice.
‘Ah, even her sullen look and voice were pitiful, spontaneously stimulating the protective instinct.’
Clicking her tongue, Ashia took a step back from the entrance and answered, “Yes, please speak.”
“…Think carefully about the conditions I said.”
“…”
Even with a wounded expression, Aileen didn’t give up. No, she continued the original’s intentions.
‘Haa… until the very end?’
Ashia’s smile became firmer as a result of her confusion as to which “Aileen” was speaking at the moment.
“I think our conversation has come to an end, Your Royal Highness.”
“… ”
Aileen glanced at Ashia one more time before completely walking out of the shop.
Ashia mumbled in a deep sigh, “I can’t believe I’m fighting a princess over a man.”
As soon as she tried to hold the handle of the shop door again, a big shadow fell in front of Ashia.
“Oh?” She raised her head and looked up.
Kaligo stood in front of Ashia, silently staring at the path where Aileen had disappeared.
