Chapter 30: Striking the Mountain To Lure out the Tiger
Ron had planned to keep an eye out for a while.
He suddenly saw a familiar figure.
“It’s him.”
Ron’s eyesight was dozens of times sharper than before, and he could see clearly that Smith had poked his head out from behind the tree to observe the people disembarking from the ship.
They disembarked.
The tour guide continued to introduce them.
“Everyone, follow closely. This is an uninhabited island, and there are some natural beasts on it.”
“But don’t worry too much. We have weapons.”
While no one was looking, Ron landed at the back of the crowd and suddenly kicked.
The next moment, he appeared behind a large tree.
After the crowd left, he walked into the forest and climbed to the top of the tree.
His feet stepped on the topmost branch of a large tree.
That way, even if there were surveillance cameras, they would not be able to find Ron.
“An uninhabited forest, how is that possible?”
Roan’s form leaped between the adjacent trees, his skill more swift than that of the old ape who had spent most of his life in the mountains.
He was as light as a swallow.
In the span of a jump, tens or hundreds of meters, there was no pressure at all.
Soon Ron found his target, Smith, who was looking around.
Smith went straight to a large rock and looked around cautiously, even nervously.
He moved a large rock away, and the rock before him opened into two, creating a dark hole.
Smith walked straight in, and the big stones closed together again.
“It’s really hidden.”
Ron did not jump off the tree, but pointed in the direction of the boulder and took aim.
The next moment, formic acid shot out from his fingertip.
A hundred meters away, the formic acid turned into a green arrow and shot at the moss-covered rock.
The rock immediately emitted green smoke and melted bit by bit.
The stone’s structure was much harder to corrode than the human body. He shot out several waves of antic acid to corrode the stone.
Rawne jumped down from the tree and went straight to the boulder. He followed the pathway’s stairs, exploring the way down.
The tunnel went on for more than ten minutes. There was a pool of water underground. Looking around, it was all solid walls.
Just as Ron wondered if he should dive into the water, the ground shook.
Several whirlpools appeared on the surface of the pool. The water level dropped rapidly, and finally, a new foundation appeared. There was also light.
“Looks like they know I’m here.”
Ron walked down the stairs without hiding himself.
Before he reached the bottom, he smelled a strange, bitter smell mixed with smoke.
At the bottom, Ron could see that it was a steel pot with something black cooking inside.
Needless to say, Ron knew what they were.
There were even workers purifying it.
But when the staff saw Ron arrive, they acted as if they did not see him and continued their work.
Roan continued forward until he reached a large iron door. With a gentle push, it creaked open.
What reappeared before Ron was an empty basketball court.
There were a few other people tied up in the middle of the basketball court. One of them was Mary.
“I lured him here. Please let my family go.”
The other two people who were tied up were a blonde woman and a seven-year-old child.
Ron’s eyes fell on the men in black on the second floor.
“Hahahaha.”
The leader of the men in black beside Smith said, “Mr. Smith, I promised you that I would let your family go, so I’ll let them go.”
Then, the man in black took off his hood.
This was a man with blond hair and blue eyes, just like Ron, except that he was very burly.
“Mr. Ron, I didn’t expect you to come so easily. The power of love is truly great. Let me introduce Myself, my name is Robert Sean.”
Ron didn’t look nervous at all. He smirked and said, “So why did you call me here?”
Sean slowly started down the stairs.
“If Mr. Ron can agree to one condition, I will not only release everyone here, but I will also return the Van Gogh painting of your father-in-law to you. How about that?”
“Oh, then you have to tell me. If you want me to die, I won’t agree.”
“Hahaha, Mr. Ron really has the genes to be funny. No wonder Miss Mary with such a figure is your girlfriend.”
“From what I know, Mr. Ron was originally a regular street vendor.”
“But a few days ago, something rare like the ‘Dindall Bible’ suddenly appeared.
“Then, you put up Tom and Jerry limited edition cassette tapes.
“Then it was the Starry Sky Rolex watches.”
“What are you going to say? Be straightforward.”
Ron interrupted impatiently.
Sean had already walked up to Ron. “Mr. Ron, I just want to know, where did you get all these treasures?”
“Oh, I see. You want to know my dealer, right?”
Ron laughed. “Then I’ll tell you.”
Sean hadn’t expected it to go so well, but at the same time he felt it was only natural.
After all, Ron’s woman and friends had been kidnapped, and now he thought of Ron as meat on the chopping block.
“But—”
Ron raised his voice and looked at everyone.
“Are you sure that the person behind me is someone you can afford to offend?”
Ron fell silent.
Sean’s expression changed drastically.
It was not that he had not thought about this.
However, they were also a very powerful mercenary group in the world.
They were really afraid of very few forces.
However, to sell a painting worth over ten million USD to a street vendor, how could he be a normal person?
Or could it be an ordinary force?
When Ron saw Sean’s expression turn ugly, he naturally placed a hand on his shoulder and said, “I earn a margin of at least half for what I’m selling now, think about it.”
Sean’s entire body trembled.
When he’d snatched the painting and done the kidnapping, he’d already investigated Ron.
Normally speaking, even if Ron helped people sell valuable items, the middle profits would not be that drastic.
But it was true: Ron had not only bought a house, but a car, and he had nearly $20 million in savings.
What did that mean?
This meant that the person behind Ron had given these things to him for nothing.
Who was so generous and kind to Ron?
Sean couldn’t understand why.
“Mr. Ron, we don’t mean any harm. We just want to befriend the person that is behind, supporting you.”
