Chapter 652: Chapter 296: Battle Emperor Dragon, Thunder Guardian_2
In those dark red eyes, there was a mix of brutality and a cold sharpness, like a swordsman who had reached the pinnacle of martial arts cultivation, composed and powerful.
But monsters will always be monsters, and as its disdain for living creatures fueled its brutality, the monster began to emit the aura of a Level 7 Peak beast.
The sharp and oppressive aura made Jack Clark’s eyes focus.
This monster was incredibly strong; it definitely possessed the combat power of an early stage Level 8 warrior, even under the classification of Level 7 Peak, and Jack knew he would need to be serious in facing it.
Roar!
With a roar, the monster bolted up, and a terrifying Sword Intent surged up from its body, the rusty battle sword in its hand vibrating with a buzzing resonance.
Suddenly, black gold vertical pupils appeared in Jack’s eyes, with five rings of black runes forming a chain of light that slowly rotated at the edges, emitting a Terrifying Aura that struck fear into all living beings.
Centered on that Void creature, the space within a 15-meter radius around it cracked like a mirror with a snap and then shattered with a boom, including the Void creature itself.
After being amplified five times, the might of the Void Double Pupils was even more fearsome. Even a mere ten percent burst of Void Energy was enough to instantly kill this powerful monster.
By now, it was almost true that Jack could merely look at someone, and they would explode.
However, just as Jack had darted more than a hundred kilometers horizontally today, he stopped once again; a figure surrounded by thunder was waiting for him on a mountain in the distance.
“Brother Callum, I knew I’d see you if I stood on the mountain.”
In a flash, Jack’s figure appeared before Damon Lopes, looking at him curiously, “…Mr. Lopes, do you need something from me?”
“I found the residence of the Thunder Lord,” Damon said with a hint of excitement in his voice.
“The Thunder Lord,” Jack raised an eyebrow.
“The Thunder Lord was one of the top strong men of the Ancient Civilization. I’ve been searching for a few days and have finally discovered the entrance to his mansion here.”
Jack looked puzzled: “Then what?”
“I can’t defeat the puppet war general guarding the gate,” Damon confessed earnestly.
I should have known this guy wouldn’t be suddenly so noble, waiting here for him after finding something valuable, only to get stuck because he couldn’t get past the guardian.
Jack asked, “What is the strength of that puppet?”
“Late Eighth Layer,” Damon responded.
“What, late Eighth Layer? Are you sure I can handle it?” Jack was incredulous.
After Jack’s breakthrough to the mid-stage of the Seventh Layer Heaven, he estimated that his combat power had just barely entered the mid-eighth level without using the Void Double Pupils or the Fighting War Emperor Dragon Form.
With that power, he could possibly hold his own against some mid-eighth level monsters, but if he wanted to slay them, he would still need to play his trump card.
As one approached the later stages of higher orders, the gap between each small realm grew significantly, and Jack felt that even in his Emperor Dragon Form, he could at most contend with the late stages of the Eighth Layer.
Not to mention defeating that puppet.
Damon said with confidence, “Brother Callum, I believe in your strength. You can do it. Let’s give it a try, and if it doesn’t work out, we’ll leave it be.”
Jack was speechless, “I’m just afraid that giving it a ‘try’ might end up meaning death.” After hearing that the gate guardian puppet was at the late Eighth Layer stage, he didn’t want to risk it.
That was the late Eighth Layer, not the late Seventh Layer. A moment’s inattention could mean complete obliteration.
Still, Damon persisted, “Brother Callum, the battle puppet isn’t like those monsters. As long as we step out of its defense range, it will stop pursuing.”
“The mansion of the Thunder House is very well preserved, and I’m certain there are Thunderbolt Law Fragments inside, and maybe even the inheritance of the Thunder Lord himself.”
“One of the thirty-six Monarchs, an inheritance from a being comparable to a Heavenly King or even stronger—aren’t you tempted, Brother Callum?”
Upon hearing that there were Thunderbolt Law Fragments that could resonate with his true martial arts phantom, and there might also be an inheritance from the Thunder Lord, Jack immediately looked serious.
“Let’s do it.”
Whoosh whoosh!!
In the barren and silent mountain range, Damon Lopes, the Innate Awakened One of Thunder, maintained a speed beyond Supersonic Speed, accompanying Jack Clark in their side-by-side sprint across the mountain peaks.
As an Innate Awakened One with control over thunder, Damon’s speed was also swift, and after breaking through to the Seventh Layer Heaven, his regular movement speed had reached supersonic levels.
And once he unleashed his Limit Breakthrough in the Thunder Movement, his speed would become even more terrifying.
Under Damon’s guidance, the two crossed over a hundred kilometers in just over ten minutes, traversing mountains to reach the peak of a mountain in the heart of the range.
Atop the mountain peak, aside from the cracked rocks, there was only a ten-meter-tall stele wrapped in thunder patterns, vaguely inscribed with the ancient characters ‘Thunder House.’
“The mansion is located in a stable small world, which is why it’s been preserved so intact. However, it requires the power of the Innate Thunderbolt to open it,” Damon explained as he placed his hand on the stele, with bursts of purple lightning dancing about.
As the stele absorbed the Thunderbolt Power, its surface glowed with thunder patterns. At the top, a silver-blue bolt of lightning exploded, striking a side of the Void.
Instantly, a crack formed in the Void, slowly widening into a ‘door’ three meters tall and two meters wide, appearing before them.
On the other side of the door was a spacious square with a diameter of hundreds of meters, at the far end stood an imposing complex of buildings, where the sky within glimmered with lightning and roared without pause.
Following Damon, the two stepped into the gateway of the small world.
“Brother Callum, that platform is the battle puppet’s line of alertness. Stepping on it will invoke an attack from the battle puppet, but if we step out of the platform’s range, it will cease,” Damon stated, still eager to venture inside the Thunder House but warning, “That battle puppet is very fast. If it’s too much for us, we’ll just give up.”
