Chapter 25: Troll

Xiao Yu was thinking about what equipment he should forge for himself. He had killed a few Adventurers in the past few days, and he now had enough materials to forge new equipment.
Since he was not a Boss yet, Xiao Yu could not own equipment named after him—he could only choose from what was available to craft. This equipment was linked to the storyline or monster titles. Currently, Xiao Yu had three options.
Diviner’s Long Robe. It was a grey robe for Goblin Diviners. It required 25 Adventurers’ Remnants.
Chief Goblin’s New Outfit. It was a coat made from wolf skin. It was unlocked after he completed the plot event to become the Chief Goblin. It required 40 Adventurers’ Remnants.
Ahriman’s Priest Robe. It was a bright red robe that was unlocked after he completed Ahriman’s plot. It required 45 Adventurers’ Remnants.
Xiao Yu chose the third one without hesitation.
[Name: Ahriman’s Priest Robe]
[Type: Equipment—Magic Garb]
[Quality: Excellent]
[Features: Protection +10, Fire Damage +4]
[Chances to drop after killed by Adventurer: 23%]
[Note: It is a priest robe that is worn by some priest worshiping Ahriman.]
It was the best item he had unlocked so far.
When Xiao Yu equipped the robe, he looked like a servant for Ahriman. Normally, the ending would be bad for such a guy. He just hoped he would be an exception.
On the third day, Xiao Yu reached the Campfire early in the morning again. He saw a gigantic monster sitting by the fire. It was not eating a Goblin Chef this time, but leaves from a tree.
Xiao Yu was delighted. It was a Troll.
Trolls had larger bodies than Ogres and very low IQ. They were almost like beasts. Unlike Ogres, Trolls preferred to eat vegetables. They were easier to tame too.
[System prompt message: You Campfire has attracted a Troll. Do you want to recruit them?]
[Monster Name: Aldo (Troll)]
[Monster Category: Troll (Big size Human-type creature)]
[Monster Rank: Level 13 Normal]
[Monster skill: Tree Attack (Pick up a tree branch and attack. Attack type changes to siege and deals double damage to buildings).]
[Skill: Tree Swirl (Once equipped with a tree branch, attack in a cone shape within 8 yards and deal damage to all enemies within. They will be either knocked back or blasted away, depending on their size).]
[Recruit Price: 600 Food, 7 Population]
[Maintenance Price: 30 Food]
[Note: It is a Troll with low IQ that does not even know where it is from.]
Although it was just a normal monster, it was no weaker than a common Rare Elite. The Troll was a strong race.
It was very suitable to be used in attacking Night Whisper Village later on, so Xiao Yu decided to recruit him.
The Troll looked at Xiao Yu and started mumbling some words. “Food… Aldo… eat… help…” He was trying hard to express himself, but he could not find the right word for it. He did a smashing gesture to show that he would fight for Xiao Yu.
It was true that a Troll’s IQ was slightly too low, but it assured Xiao Yu that this Troll would not have anything up his sleeve. “Big boy, you are one of us now. You will be my mount and bodyguard.”
[System prompt message: Troll Aldo has joined your Horde. You can now give your orders to him as the chief.]
After recruiting the Troll and the army of Goblin Scouts and Warriors trained by the Goblin Trainer, the Mud Horde became very strong in combat power.
A Troll, three Black Rock Orcs, a Goblin Trainer, four Goblin Overseers, 30 Goblin Scouts and Warriors, about 20 Goblin Slaves, and three player characters. These men were all Xiao Yu had.
The problem with such a huge population was that the Food would not be enough. Even if all the Goblin Slaves were working 24/7, the net change of Food in their warehouse would still decrease as the days went past. They had to launch the attack within three days, or his men would rebel against him due to the lack of food.
The outcome of today’s meeting did not matter. He needed to launch the attack either way. Xiao Yu still had high hopes for today’s conference. There would be no issue at all if all these leaders were players.
All was prepared and now he was just waiting for the right moment.
Night fell and Xiao Yu left the camp with Aldo, the Black Rock Orcs, the two player characters, and 10 Goblin Warriors.
Monster Forces were considered as potential enemies to each other, so the names shown were yellow. It was very possible for them to be attacked by the others at any time. They could be killed permanently as it was a fight among Monster Forces.
There were no players around as the monsters were stronger at night, thus they were not caught by anyone.
Xiao Yu rode on the neck of Aldo and he had a very clear view of the front. He could easily deal damage to others from this height.
He could see further since he was much higher. He saw the abandoned building nearby.
Night Whisper Forest used to belong to the Blizzard Kingdom. When the Army of Disaster wiped out Aizelasi, the guardians in this region were killed too. Although the Army of Disaster was chased away in the end, the land was already contaminated. The Night Elves joined the alliance and needed a space in the land of Aizelasi. Since the Blizzard Kingdom did not wish to reclaim this land, it was given to Night Elves and became Night Whisper Village. However, the Night Elves did not like proper buildings, thus this one here was abandoned. It has since become a landmark.
Xiao Yu asked his men to stop outside and entered the building with the Black Rock Orcs.
In less than 10 minutes, everyone was gathered promptly. Gnoll Hogg, Kobold Golden Tooth, and Bandit Blake Rhode arrived with their men too. They each had some men guarding a side of the building.
The monsters looked at one another and waited.
Hogg (Gnoll Leader), level 13 Elite. He was fierce-looking and had a bloody, giant machete in his hand with messy leather armor.
Blake Rhode (Bandit Leader), level 12 Rare Elite. He had black leather armor and a black hoodie. His eyes were cold and he looked very cool.
Golden Tooth (Kobold Leader), level 9 Rare Elite. He was standing by the door, ready to escape if things went wrong.
And last but not the least, the main character, Eric the Flame Warlock. Level 12 Elite with a bright red robe. His face looked creepy, even in that formal outfit. Maybe it was just how Goblins looked.
