Chapter 24: So It’s Poison
“Actually, it’s not that scary…” Daydreamer pondered for a while and said slowly.
Indeed, Seuss had also noticed that although the black elves had only taken less than two minutes to wipe them out, in reality, those black elves were not very powerful.
“Black elves are an extremely ancient race…” Daydreamer patted his own head and thought about the books he had read before.” They don’t have powerful magic like the white elves, nor do they have powerful bodies like the orcs. The only thing they have is outstanding stealth and scouting abilities. ”
“Because of this, when the Dragon Empire was attacked, these black elves were the best scouts and contributed greatly to the victory of the war.”
“I see.” Seuss sighed. No wonder these black elves were so sharp. Seuss’s stealth was useless in their eyes.
It was impossible for Seuss to defeat them in stealth as they were a race full of natural scouts.. Unless Seuss’s level was higher than theirs, it was impossible for him to use stealth.
“Look at your battle logs!” Madman shouted.
Hearing Madman, Seuss opened his game menu. There was a battle log in it that would record every battle you’d ever fought.
He flipped to the earlier battle segment and saw a string of text.
“You are under attack by Black Elf, Health Points -12. Affected by an unknown poison, 10 Health Points deducted every second, Duration: 1 second.”
…
The rest of the logs were almost the same. If not for the effect of the unknown poison, the few slashes he had just suffered would not have killed Seuss.
Seuss’s defense was not high. In this case, the Black Elves’ attack power was only about 30. That was why they could only deal about 10 plus damage to Seuss.
No wonder Madman lasted for a full minute under the attacks of the black elves. It was because Madman’s health points were high enough.
Madman had originally been increasing his points in the direction of being a shielder. When they killed the leader of the night cat yesterday, he already had five hundred health points. Now that he had leveled up by two levels and bought a set of defensive equipment, he had gained a lot of constitution.
As of now, Madman’s health point had exceeded six hundred, and his defense had reached forty points. Those black elves could not break Madman’s defense at all, and could only deal the lowest damage of one point.
And it was this one point of damage that had added poison to Madman, obtaining a debuff that deducted ten health points per second.
This unknown poison was very different from other poisons. The damage of ordinary poisons was green, and it could be calculated separately from attack damage.
However, this unknown poison was not calculated separately. Even the damage numbers were stacked.
Most poisons had a duration of at least ten seconds, but unknown poisons only lasted for one second.
This was also the reason why Seuss and the rest did not discover the unknown poison in the beginning.
As for Madman, he was frozen in place for a full minute, unable to move or do anything. So he opened the battle log to see what was attacking him.
“The biggest problem now is how to deal with that unknown poison,” Daydreamer said in the party channel. “If we can’t find a way, it will be futile to enter a few more times.”
Everyone fell into deep thought. That poison was extremely terrifying. If they could not solve the problem of the poison, entering the dungeon again would be futile.
Looking at the crystal screen in the hall, there were already many records of others.
Desert Losers Party: Challenge Demon’s Den, Twisted Forest, Challenge Difficulty, Expert-Level, Challenge Progress: 15%, Challenge Counts: 2.
Desert Party: Challenge Demon’s Den, Twisted Forest, Challenge Difficulty, Expert-Level, Challenge Progress: 17%, Challenge Counts: 1.
“They’ve already challenged it five times?” Sirius saw the screen.
“Maybe their fighting style is different from ours. Maybe they lured all the treants together and killed them with their strength. That’s why their progress is so fast.”
Daydreamer looked at the screen and spoke.
“But they must have been taught a lesson by those black elves just like us.”
Seuss’s method of killing the treants was very safe, but it took a long time. This time, it took nearly two hours to clear all the treants.
If Desert Guild really relied on their strength, they would probably only need fifteen minutes to kill all the treants.
Looking at the screen again, Seuss found something very interesting.
On the screen, the Desert Party was at the top of the rankings, followed closely by the Desert Losers Party.
This was not because the expert-level dungeon would be ranked at the front, but because almost everyone was challenging the expert-level dungeon. Only a small number of people were challenging the normal-level dungeon.
Among the teams that were challenging the expert-level dungeon, no one had progressed faster than the Desert Guild. And in the normal-level dungeon, there was actually no team that progressed faster than the Desert Guild.
Because they had stayed in the dungeon for a long time, Seuss did not know what happened after they entered the dungeon for the second time.
After the Desert Guild came out of the dungeon for the second time, they saw that someone had completed 15% of the progress on the crystal screen. They were anxious.
If someone else took the first clear of the dungeon, then the meaning of them painstakingly clearing the expert-level dungeon would be halved.
Thus, all sorts of tricks were employed. In the end, all those who were slightly confident in their own abilities entered the expert-level dungeon.
Only those peaceful players who were not confident in their own skills entered the normal-level dungeon.
The final result was what Seuss saw now. The progress of the expert-level dungeon was even faster than that of normal dungeons.
“Since they have only advanced 2% more than us, it means that they have not been able to deal with the black elves. We still have time,” said Daydreamer slowly.
“Their progress was higher than ours the first time, and it’s still the same now.” Heart of Holy Light said pessimistically, “They entered more often too. How can we defeat them?”
It had to be said that amongst the five of them, the only one who did not have a change in mentality was Heart of Holy Light, because his pessimism had never changed.
“We’ve never seen this kind of poison before, and the black elves in the wilderness don’t have it at all, nor have we seen any related records.”
Seuss paused for a second and continued.
“There must be a way to pass this dungeon. If this method is not outside, then it must be inside this dungeon.”
As he spoke, Seuss became more and more determined. After eliminating all the impossible answers, there was only one result.
The method to resist the unknown poison must be within the dungeon!
