Chapter 4: Robbery, Masked Man (2)
She was so scared and frightened to the point of breaking out in cold sweat that she dared not move. Once the sharp sword was retracted, she decisively pushed the medicine bag beside her into the cauldron’s space and jumped out of the carriage.
This time, she saw the situation clearly.
The coachman was dead and her six bodyguards were engaged in a fierce battle with an assassin.
The assassin was dressed in black, donning on a silver mask on his face. He looked extremely similar to a martial artist—his martial skill was even high. Even if he fought against six, he wouldn’t find it strenuous.
This person was not a friend!
Gu Feiyan chose not to make herself visible. She secretly rolled away to place with lush grass, intent on escaping without a sound.
Unexpectedly, the masked assassin had already noticed her. Once he got rid of the guards entangling him, the masked assassin leaped up into the air and landed right in front of her.
Without another word, he raised his sword and stabbed forward.
“Wait a minute!” In the nick of time, Gu Feiyan closed her eyes and shouted, “I did not give the young general the medicine yet!”
With that, she felt the sharp sword qi suddenly stop.
She sighed, secretly relieved that her intuition was right.
Judging from the assassin’s martial arts skill, he belonged to an esteemed clan. It’d be impossible for someone like him to assassinate a mere girl like her, so he most likely came here for the medicine.
The man at the pharmacy made it very clear that she needed to deliver the medicine to the military camp before daybreak, otherwise, General Chen would be in danger.
Gu Feiyan was about to open her eyes when the masked assassin placed the sharp sword on her neck. The ice-cold touch caused her to shiver unconsciously, however, what was colder than the sharp blade was the voice of the masked assassin.
“Where’s the medicine?”
“Yes… yes…”
She opened her eyes, albeit carefully, and looked at the masked assassin dressed in midnight clothes; he was tall and slender.
The silver-white masked covered a third of his face, only revealing the color of his lips and eyes.
The corner of his lips curled up slightly, looking at the world before with a cold and proud domineering gaze.
His eyes was also cold and piercing.
Just by closing and opening his eyes, his pair of eyes emitted an impression of pride that was pleasing to the eyes. None would mock him even if they stood from afar and only the heavens knew the kind of handsome features that were hidden beneath the mask.
Gu Feiyan was slightly stunned when she gazed into his eyes.
She’d only seen her master’s eyes before. His glint struck at the bottom of her heart, but surprisingly, this man managed to do so as well.
