Chapter 3: I’m a Drama Queen, Show Hand!

Elrond remembered that among those newbies who started playing the game, there was no innate psionic. Everyone started as ordinary warriors or mages.
One could awaken their elementary aura only after obtaining the skill book.
From there, one would then step into the world of a psionic.
But it would take at least three months to achieve this.
Elrond had just transmigrated to this world but he was already the strongest psionic ever.
This was the best piece of news for him.
Every psionic had a rank.
One would start from the lowest Rank E and level up to the highest Rank A.
And to get the different titles, a psionic was required to achieve at least a day of aura value.
Only then would one be able to obtain their rank titles.
The energy level requirement for an E-class psionic was one black hole. For example, Helen Henry was one of the stronger E-class psionics.
After one’s aura exceeded 1,000 points, the calculation of energy level would be based on black holes. A black hole was equivalent to 1,000 aura points.
An A-class psionic was a watershed, also known as a Destroyer. A single move from them could destroy an entire planet.
If one wanted to become an A-rank psionic, then one had to achieve 100 black holes of aura value.
Helen Harry walked towards Elrond again. The leader had personally told her to oversee the brainwashing process. Mistakes were not allowed.
Elrond put on a dull expression as his eyes looked straight ahead.
Helen Harry suddenly bent down as she leaned closer to him. Her face was only inches away from him, and her moist breath sprayed on his lips.
Elrond didn’t have any romantic thoughts and he knew that he had to remain quiet. It was such a crucial moment that he was not in the mood to let his thoughts run wild at all.
“Who are you?” Helen asked softly with a hypnotizing tone.
Turning a deaf ear to Helen’s words, Elrond’s facial muscles twitched as he showed a dazed expression.
“I usually not good at acting, but there shouldn’t be any problem to put on a poker face,” Elrond thought inwardly.
Helen Harry whispered into his ear. As she mumbled, her warm breath moistened his ears and her ruby-red curls tickled his neck.
It was a little ticklish. From the corner of his eyes, he could see Helen’s smooth fair skin from the open collar of her combat uniform, and that almost blinded his eyes.
But Elrond’s heart remained unperturbed.
“Your name is Zero and you are the most loyal servant of New Life Organization. You will devote your entire life to the organization, never to betray it. It will only end when you die in a battle for the organization.”
Helen Harry asked again, “Who are you?”
The motive of this question was different this time. She was trying to confirm if the brainwashing process had been successful.
Elrond did not answer her immediately. His dull eyes were still looking forward.
Helen Harry frowned and shot a cold, sharp look at Henry York.
Henry York mumbled, “I have always followed the procedures for the brainwashing process. There shouldn’t be any mistakes.”
Elrond suddenly opened his mouth and said, “I— am— Zero—, loyal to— New Life— Organization—.”
Hearing Elrond’s answer, Helen Harry was very satisfied and said, “Bring it back for a rest. I’ll go inform the leader.”
Elrond knew his crisis was resolved and he was safe for the time being!
He finally breathed a sigh of relief. When he was on the brainwashing device, he had already decided to portray himself as a slow-witted figure, to lower the enemy’s vigilance.
“Leader, Zero has completed the brainwashing process and is currently in a stable condition,” Helen Harry said through the mini-sized walkie talkie.
“How did the brainwashing process go?” A dull male voice came from the other end of the walkie talkie.
“I presided over the entire process so there shouldn’t be any problem. Moving forward, I intend to train Zero into a warrior. What do you think?” Helen Harry asked.
“Go ahead and make the necessary arrangements,” the dull voice said and cut off the conversation between them.
After hanging up the call, Helen Harry’s eyes were turned icy cold.
No one knew who her killing intent was directed at.
…
At this moment, Elrond gained the right to move freely after taking a shower.
As long as it was not a particularly confidential place, he could enter at will.
Moreover, there were many occupation manuals in this place, so he could read them as much as he liked.
At this point, no one believed that he would become a psionic.
In the eyes of the New Life Organization, he was just a tool that was slightly stronger after the modification. Based on his talent, it would take a few years before he could become a psionic.
Although Elrond owned three incredible abilities, he lacked the basic theoretical knowledge in mechanics.
Reading these occupation manuals would help in his growth.
A huge bookshelf was placed in the south of the brainwashing laboratory.
Elrond took a look and found that there were plenty of manuals on psionics’ jobs.
It made him exhilarated.
It was just like someone offering him a pillow when he was sleepy, which was what he needed now.
His goal was “The Complete Book of Basic Mechanical Theory”, a book on basic knowledge of mechanics. He took it from the bookshelf and started flipping through the pages.
The contents of the book were all about mechanical theory. Those sections on theory and detailed drawings were difficult to comprehend. Elrond patiently read it for slightly over ten seconds, and a message popped up on the interface.
“You have completed self-study of basic mechanical knowledge. In view of your intelligence, the learning progress of ‘Basic Assembly’ is now at 80%.”
“Sure enough,” Elrond thought delightfully. Although he could not understand the contents, the system would automatically judge and assist him in gaining the knowledge.
Henry York, who was standing by the side, was confused. The experimental subject’s behavior seemed like it was learning. Could it be that the experimental subject was increasing its learning ability?
Henry York did not stop Elrond so that he could observe it.
The entire room was silent, except for the flapping sound of a book.
The speed of the pages flapping grew faster. Elrond’s expression did not change, but in fact, he was slightly anxious. Every second that passed was not only time but his freedom as well.
The door opened again with a bang. Helen Harry walked in and frowned when she saw this. “What’s going on?”
“It’s like this—” Henry York explained and told her about his conjecture about the Sideria No. 1 experimental.
“Are you saying that his learning ability had been enhanced?”
Henry York replied, “This might be the result of the mutation of the reagent, which caused a mutation on his intelligence.”
At this moment, a new notification appeared on the panel.
“‘Basic Assembly’ has progressed to 90% (+10%). You have acquired the foundation of Mechanics. Mechanical knowledge tree unlocked!”
“You have comprehended the following new skills; ‘Intermediate Mechanical Affinity’, ‘Mechanical Strengthening and Modification’ and ‘Intermediate Mechanical Creation’.”
Looking at the information provided by the system, Elrond was overjoyed.
Now that he was even more powerful, he had taken another step towards freedom.
At this moment, Helen Harry rushed over and stopped when she was around 3 feet away from Elrond.
She breathed out a puff of mist as she talked.
“From now on, your mission is to strengthen your training and become a loyal warrior to the organization. You will dedicate your whole life to the organization.”
