Reluctantly Willing - Chapter 52
Chapter 52: Sick
More than ten days have passed, and the news on the Internet was still viral and there was no sign of stopping.
Gu Jun looked at the comments on the internet and was so angry that he dumped all the documents away. Hiring the online ghostwriters yielded no results.
“Mr. Gu, it seems that the other party has influential backing. We don’t have any media people. This is very disadvantageous to us.”
“At all costs, within ten days, this news must be suppressed.”
Chen Chen was stunned upon hearing that. Even after hiring so many online ghostwriters, the news was not suppressed. How could the news disappear in ten days’ time?
“I’ll try my best.”
If it was just a temporary rumor, people would just laugh and forget about it. Once a rumor lingered too long, everyone would come to know about it. Even when it was over, An Xiaoyan would probably be criticized and scolded by passersby. He did not wish to see that happen.
…
“Someone has started to intervene in this matter. Do we need to do more to resist it?” asked the assistant. The news on the Internet had been somewhat suppressed, for the time being. As long as the other party is willing to spend a large sum of money, they will most certainly guide the news.
“No, there’s no need to. Gu Jun won’t be able to suppress it.”
The suppression of news was only temporary. The rebound would be the best part of the game.
Ten days later, Gu Jun opened the web pages. At first glance, he saw An Xiaoyan was still on the cover page. Suddenly, he felt a sense of powerlessness. He still had no means to suppress the news even after spending a fortune. He simply had no connections in the media industry to do so.
Scrolling through the comments, he saw a few newly uploaded photos. He clicked them to see, and saw pictures of An Xiaoyan drinking at Night Charm Luxurious Nightclub.
On a grandstand, An Xiaoyan stood on it and drank liquor, with a huge crowd looking on. There were many other pictures of An Xiaoyan wearing sexy clothes, accompanying the guests to drink.
It never occurred to him that an unintentional consequence of that endeavor would lead to such an outcome today. If he had known beforehand, he would not have let An Xiaoyan go to Night Charm Luxurious Nightclub.
He had mocked An Xiaoyan countless times, now he finally had a chance to mock himself. He even hated himself a little, for pushing An Xiaoyan into a pit of fire.
If things were to go on like this, there may be no chance to salvage it all.
Old Mr. Gu never thought that his son would come home. He used to call and urge him to come back home, but now he appeared voluntarily, which actually surprised him.
Since the founding of the Sheng Kong Group, Gu Jun had moved out of the house and lived independently. He was not fond of this rich family at all. In the past, when old Mrs. Gu was around, she would be the one who treated him with a sincere heart. Now, the house was full of snobbish people who had no skills other than finding ways to accumulate wealth.
Old Mr. Gu glanced at his son and snorted as he continued to flip the newspaper in his hand.
Gu Jun was not too bothered. He simply sat on the sofa and said what he wanted. “Can you help me with one thing?”
Things were fine before he opened his mouth. After he spoke, his tone made Old Mr. Gu angry and he glared at him; the reason being that he had the same attitude even when asking for help. After years of dealing in business, he learned to maintain his composure even when he was angry.
“If its business related, I can’t help you. Many family members and shareholders are all looking at you and Gu Jing. Even if you’re my own son, the competition is still fair, and I won’t act hastily.”
He did not finish what he intended to say. After all, Gu Jun was his own son. He had a partiality for Gu Jun. If it was a trivial matter, it was not impossible for him to use his own people to help Gu Jun out in secret as he wanted to give Gu Jun a warning.
Gu Jun knew exactly what his father meant. He never thought of relying on his father’s wealth to get ahead. Gu Jing’s father, Gu Jun’s second uncle, died young. If he and Gu Jing competed based on their father’s wealth, Gu Jing would most certainly lose.
“Help me suppress a piece of news.”
This matter was neither too big, nor too small. If his father wanted to deal with it, it could easily be done.
Gu Jun continued talking when he saw that Old Mr. Gu kept quiet, “You must have heard about the news, about someone named An Xiaoyan, which became the talk of the town. The person in the picture is not me. You should know that this type of news is not good for me. Why don’t you send someone to remove this news?”
Old Mr. Gu knew very well what was really going on even though he was unwilling to read the contents of the newspaper.
“If you are just out having fun with the people from the nightclub, I can turn a blind eye to it. But if you are truly interested, I’ll break your legs. Go and take a look and see which successor has a vague relationship with a man? Do you still want to have children?”
“I already have a child.”
“Huhh, you call that a child? I haven’t even seen him once. I heard that he can’t even speak well. How would you let a simpleton take over your business? You should learn from Gu Jing and find a girl from a family of equal social status. It may even do our business some good.”
Once he heard that, Gu Jun knew his plea was a success. After all, his father would not want to see his son lose at the starting line because of the scandal.
“Um.”
“Alright, go home. Refrain from indulging yourself during these critical times. If you really want to have fun, find someone reliable. Why find a man?”
After leaving the Gu family’s old house, Gu Jun felt a mix of emotions
What if, in the future, An Xiaoyan can accept me? Thinking halfway, Gu Jun dropped the idea as he knew that An Xiaoyan would not accept him.
Once Old Mr. Gu stepped in, the matter was resolved. Within a few days, An Xiaoyan’s news disappeared from the Internet. Another wave of news about minor celebrities was hyped up in its place. The things people talked about after dinner gradually had nothing to do with An Xiaoyan anymore.
“Jing, you must already know that the news has been suppressed,” Gao Shan said angrily. In order to make the news of An Xiaoyan big, she had pleaded with her father for a long time and even promised that Gu Jing would become the head of the family.
Gu Jing was not shocked that the news was suppressed. Sooner or later, the news would pass. However, he was curious why Gu Jun would ask his father to suppress the news.
Regarding this enemy, Gu Jun did not seem to be treating him with the attitude he should take toward an enemy. After all, no matter how big the news was, the one on the losing end would be An Xiaoyan.
The best is yet to come.
…
“An Xiaoyan?”
“Um.”
“You can go out now.”
“Okay.”
“Tomorrow Chen Chen will take you to where you want to go.”
“Thank you.”
“But you must come back.”
“I won’t run away.”
With An Xiaoyan’s promise, Gu Jun felt more relaxed. He embraced An Xiaoyan and inhaled his fragrance. He seemed to understand why Guo Guo loved to stick around An Xiaoyan. It was because An Xiaoyan was like a ripened apple, exuding fragrance.
After enjoying his scent for some time, Gu Jun’s body involuntarily warmed up and An Xiaoyan could feel something hard leaning against his waist.
As a man, he naturally knew what it was.
“Do you want to do it?”
Gu Jun did not wish to agree, but it had been more than half a month since he had last relieved himself, and his sexual desires were becoming more prominent. Moreover, An Xiaoyan was particularly gentle today, which gave him an illusion that they were a couple who had been together for many years, lying on the bed together.
An Xiaoyan took off his coat, trousers and lay naked on the bed, waiting to be violated.
Gu Jun saw An Xiaoyan’s smooth back, picked him up and held him in his arms.
He wanted to look at An Xiaoyan and let An Xiaoyan look at him. They were no longer their usual front-to-back position.
“Don’t do that, Mr. Gu.”
“It doesn’t matter, Xiaoyan. This seems good.”
“Since Mr. Gu says it’s good, it is good.”
This was the first time they saw each other face to face. Gu Jun had always wanted to see the expression of An Xiaoyan, but the fact was it was not as he wished. An Xiaoyan kept his eyes closed, his teeth bit his upper lip, and his eyebrows frowned, as if he was in great suffering.
It is clearly a beautiful thing, yet An Xiaoyan must display a an expression of torment.
Unknowingly, Gu Jun’s movement slowed down, and An Xiaoyan’s frown was slightly eased. By the end of everything, An Xiaoyan was already unconscious.
Only then did Gu Jun realize that An Xiaoyan had been holding his body up so as to not fall down.
Suddenly he remembered that there was one night when An Xiaoyan, much like in this moment, endured silently, saying nothing but simply bearing it.
The bed sheets had been contaminated with unknown liquids, and the whole room smelled rotten. Gu Jun carried the person lying on the bed into the bathtub.
Gu Jun got someone to renovate the whole bathroom with warm colours. Each time he stepped into this bathroom, he could vividly remember the scene when An Xiaoyan was lying in the bathtub filled with blood.
Initially, the two of them had no intersection in their lives. However, an accident caused their emotions to germinate. When hatred faded away in the heart, another wonderful feeling arose spontaneously.
After cleaning An Xiaoyan up, Gu Jun returned to his room with An Xiaoyan in his arms.
For many days, as long as Gu Jun chose to rest in the villa, he would sleep in An Xiaoyan’s room. An Xiaoyan was aware of this and he would lie in bed voluntarily to wait for Gu Jun’s arrival. The master bedroom next door had been neglected for a long time.
When he woke up, the sun was already out. An Xiaoyan got up in a hurry, and a pain in his waist stopped him in his tracks. There was no sticky feeling remaining, but the hot painful sensation still lingered.
Looking around carefully, he found that it was not his own room, and he guessed that it must be Gu Jun’s room.
That’s true. The bed was so dirty yesterday. Gu Jun wouldn’t want to sleep on it.
Chen Chen had been waiting for a long time. Once he saw An Xiaoyan walking down the stairs with small steps, he hurried up to the stairs.
“Are you all right?” He had a good impression of An Xiaoyan. Gu Jun asked him to take a day off to drive An Xiaoyan around for a day. He somehow felt that Gu Jun’s attitude towards An Xiaoyan had changed.
It was not a bad thing that the hatred was slowly fading away.
An Xiaoyan shook his head. “I’m alright. Sorry to delay you, this will be a short trip and we can return soon.”
An Xiaoyan cautiously took a seat in the front passenger’s seat, adjusted himself to a slightly less painful posture and gave him the address.
They reached the destination very quickly and An Xiaoyan told the landlord that he wished to check the place out. Although a little unhappy, the landlord went to retrieve the key.
There was a layer of dust in the room. He had nothing to take away. He packed up a few things and was ready to leave when he saw the picture frame on the table.
It was an empty photo frame as the picture inside the frame had been torn off by Gu Jun. He no longer had a photograph of himself in the university. What evidence did he have of his university education to show others? Having a certification was just a dream.
Chen Chen noticed that An Xiaoyan had been staring at the empty photo frame on the table for a long time. He guessed that there must have been a photograph in the photo frame before. “Where’s the picture?”
An Xiaoyan recomposed himself and said, “There was never a photograph in it.”
When he walked down the stairs, with each step he a hot painful sensation behind him, as well as liquid flowing out. Fortunately, he was wearing a pair of gray trousers today, which could conceal the unsightly situation.
He took one small step at a time. Just as he had finished going down the stairs, Chen Chen stood behind him and held him up.
“What happened to you? Have you fallen sick?”
An Xiaoyan waved his hand, indicating that he was alright, but Chen Chen knew very clearly that there was a problem. After getting in the car, Chen Chen wanted to drive An Xiaoyan to the hospital, but An Xiaoyan tried to stop him.
“You give me a reason for not going to the hospital.”
“Mr. Gu said that I need to hurry back.”
“I will report this to Mr. Gu, don’t worry about that. Your health is most important.”
“I’m not going.”
Like a stubborn donkey, An Xiaoyan refused to budge. Finally, Chen Chen stepped on the accelerator and drove straight to the nearest hospital.
“Don’t go.” He did not want to be laughed at by so many people in the eyes of the public. During his internship in a big hospital, every such patient would be judged.
“If I really have to go, can I choose the hospital myself?”
Chen Chen sighed and turned around to drive in a remote direction.
