When the car entered in the mansion compound styled after the classical European royalty, Song Shi Cheng quickly come to realise this is his home. Once the car stopped, he started to survey the surroundings after exiting the care.
Although the mansion had never been described in the details in the novel, the style of the mansion was definitely worthy of the Song’s family influence and strength. Surrounded by lush trees in a tranquil environment, the mansion was composed of three main structures arranged in a triangular shape. The two smaller structures formed the left and right wing of the mansion enhancing the majestic of the main structure in the middle. In the midst of the garden, there was a mighty stone lion statue surrounded by flower bed adding on to the majestic and noble atmosphere of the whole mansion.
The other features in the mansion were a flower garden, an artificial pond, a swimming pool and a tennis court. Although Song Shi Cheng wasn’t able to judge the value of a mansion of this grade, he had once seen the picture of a mansion which looked quite similar. It was the mansion of professional footballer Beckham and it was valued in range of four to five hundred million US dollars.
As the idea of him going to live in this mansion in the future enjoying a lavish life, Song Shi Cheng couldn’t help lamenting; being a rich villain is definitely great!
“Welcome home Madam, Young Master!”
A group of servants and security guards were standing at the entrance of main building welcoming them. A quick glance revealed there were at least thirty to forty personnel!
As soon as she exited the car, Ji Jing immediately approached a middle-aged housekeeper and asked, “Ah De, has everything been prepared?”
The housekeeper immediately nodded and started waving his hand. A servant then came over with a basin filled with ceremonial papers and placed on the ground. The servant then took out a lighter and lit up those ceremonial papers. (TN: To those not familiar with Chinese customs, this was a practice to purge all the misfortune before they stepped into their home.)
“Now, step over the basin to purge all the misfortunes.” Ji Jing said with a smile towards Song Shi Cheng.
Song Shi Cheng could only smiled bitterly as he thought of the fact that most wealthy people are very superstitious. Nonetheless, he had still stepped over the burning basin. When he saw everyone including Ji Jing and Ye Wen Sheng entering the mansion, he hesitated for a moment before saying, “Mom, I have been in the hospital for quite some time. Let me stay outside for a while to get some fresh air.”
At this point in time, not only had he no idea about the house layout, he didn’t even know where his room is. Although he could use the excuse of memory lost due to the concussion, it would still be an exaggeration for him to forget such common stuff.
Thus, he could only let everyone enter first and slowly search for his room later.
Ji Jing didn’t suspect anything was wrong and just nodded, “Sure. Today’s weather is pretty decent. A bit of exercise might just help with your recovery. Go ahead. I have something to discuss with your Uncle Ye.”
Obviously, Ji Jing would have to come up with a plan to deal with Chen Guo Tao’s scheme.
As everyone entered the mansion, there was still this tall and sturdy man remaining on the same spot. From his uniform, he wasn’t a servant or a security guard.
The tall and sturdy man had walked right in front of Song Shi Cheng and bowed. He then said in a low and muffled voice, “Young Master, Chui Zi would like to beg for your forgiveness.”
Chui Zi. He was the personal henchman of Young Master Song.
Song Shi Cheng knew this is a simple fella who’s all brawn but no brain. Thus, he’s not worried about exposing himself. So, he just arrogantly said, “What forgiveness are you pleading for?”
“I didn’t fulfil my duty of protecting you. It’s up to young master how you should punish me for allowing you to get injured.” Chui Zi had honestly confessed not realising it his master had changed to another person.
Song Shi Cheng knew Chui Zi’s fighting capability was quite decent. He was a freestyle fighting champion and an ace fighter within the circle. However, he had written that Ye Tian’s martial art was superior. There was this scene previously where Young Master Song had brought Chui Zi along to harass Ye Tian but was thoroughly trashed by Ye Tian instead.
During the fight at the hospital’s stairwell, Chui Zi couldn’t protect Young Master Song because he had already been knocked out before that.
However, Song Shi Cheng quickly noticed an anomaly. Chui Zi had not visited him all this time he was hospitalised. So, he could ask a probing question, “You’ve been staying here all this while?”
Chui Zi nodded as he said, “Madam blamed me for not protecting you properly. She had punished me to stay at home and take care of your dogs.”
His dogs?
That’s right, Young Master Song had a habit of instructing his dogs to attack other people.
Getting his thoughts back on track, Song Shi Cheng took another look at Chui Zi. As the antagonist, he should have at least a few henchmen around him. This loyal Chui Zi would be ideal for the job. It’s just a pity that this fella is dim-witted. He will just obey any instructions without questioning it. However, this works to his advantage as he could find out more about his surroundings from Chui Zi. “I understand. Let me speak to my mom on this. You’ll still work for me in the future.”
Song Shi Cheng’s word had immediately made Chui Zi very happy as he franticly professed his gratitude and loyalty.
“For the time, accompany me to take a walk. We’ll go check out my dogs.” Song Shi Cheng said. As he started walking, Chui Zi immediately moved right behind him. Thus, he could only abandon the idea of letting this henchman of his to lead the way.
It was fortunate that the garden wasn’t exactly humongous. After walking from some time, he could hear the sound of dog’s barking from a corner of the garden.
As he passed through a row of flowers, he could see a row of kennels attached to the side of the fence. A wide variety of dogs were resting around those kennels. There was a Border Collie, German Shepherd, Golden Retriever, Alaskan Husky and other sorts of large breed dogs. Of course, the largest dog amongst them was a Caucasian Shepherd locked within a kennel. Although the dog was lying on the ground sleeping, none of the other dogs dared to step within its territory.
As his footsteps were heard, the Caucasian Shepherd took a look and immediately stood up and barked twice the moment it saw Song Shi Cheng.
The other dogs had immediately rushed over to surround him and started barking. Apparently, these dogs had received proper training.
Song Shi Cheng played with the dogs for a short while. He later saw the Caucasian Shepherd roaming inside its cage. As he looked closer, he notice its right hind leg was bandaged.
“How did this dog got injured?” Song Shi Cheng frowned. As he continued to examine the dog, he noticed there were areas where the fur was missing.
“Young master, a while ago your cousin came over with a Tibetan Mastiff and insisted for it to have fight with Ah Da. That’s how Ah Da got injured.” Chui Zi muttered in embarrassment as gave himself a slap on the face. “This is Chui Zi’s fault. I ended up embarrassing young master.”
“Ok. Stop sulking. I’m not blaming you for what had happened.”
Song Shi Cheng just waved him off with disinterest. He couldn’t stand this level of excessive servility.
From Chui Zi’s mouth, he had managed to obtain some new information. The Caucasian Shepherd name is Ah Da. Following this line of thought, the other dogs name should also start with “Ah”.
He had also found out that his relationship with this cousin of his must be quite poor. After all, his cousin had brought along a Tibetan Mastiff to pick a fight and injured his beloved dog. Not only that, Chui Zi also said the act was meant to humiliate him.
It was just that Song Shi Cheng couldn’t recall when he had ever written about the Song family ever having relatives. Could these be new characters introduced automatically by the novel’s world?
Then again, this world had turned into reality. Not only are all the supporting characters behaving independently now, other characters which had never been introduced in the novel will also start appearing.
While Song Shi Cheng was deep in thought, a low pitched whine could be heard coming from his back and was subsequently followed by a playful male voice, “My dear cousin brother, you’re finally back. You know, it hadn’t been fun having the dogs fight when you’re not around.”
