Chapter 25 You Really Dug People Out?
“This mountain might be dangerous! Everyone, pay attention!” Lucia stared with her big eyes and looked around vigilantly.
Yu Guang and the rest walked on the mountain path. Since Yu Guang said that he had seen the two fugitives on the mountain, then it was very likely that they were here.
The three of them surrounded Yu Guang and were extremely alert. It was as if they were facing a great enemy at the slightest movement of the grass.
At this moment, the grass a few meters away suddenly let out a strange sound, and the grass shook quickly.
“Who is it?”
Han Nan was like a startled bird. He immediately shot out a vine and wrapped it around him. Instantly, the grass and trees flew in all directions!
The mountain forest was like a natural bonus to Han Nan’s giant wood skill. This was simply a good place for him.
Everyone focused their eyes and took a look. In the distance, a little white rabbit kicked the vines twice and landed in the grass in a panic. Then, it ran away without a trace.
“I was scared to death.” Han Nan wiped the sweat from his forehead. “So it was just a rabbit.”
Yu Guang looked at him indifferently and comforted him. “I think you don’t have to be so nervous. The situation on the mountain is quite clear. The only enemy may be the mountain mosquito…”.
“Shh!” Han Nan whistled and lowered his voice in disgust. “Are you a police siren? You’re so loud! What if we’re discovered?”
“Yes, you don’t know anything. If we attract attention, should we fight or protect you first?” Lucia followed up with a warning.
Ever since they went up the mountain, Yu Guang’s casual attitude had killed the last bit of good feelings in her heart. In her eyes, Yu Guang was just a pretty boy. He was nothing but a face.
She rolled her eyes and thought, “If it wasn’t for Cui Anyu, who would bring a braggart here?”
Yu Guang stared at the two of them with a serious expression, thinking that Han Nan’s attack just now would have shaken the mountain. Even a deaf person would have heard it.
Cui Anyu looked at Yu Guang awkwardly. Before they saw the two fugitives, no matter how much they said, their attitude towards Yu Guang would not change.
She simply hinted at Yu Guang with her eyes, asking him to try his best not to say anything unnecessary.
In response, Yu Guang spread his hands, naturally giving face to the team leader.
He heard the sound of the waterfall becoming louder and louder. He pointed to the left and said concisely, “It’s over there. We’ll be there in about ten minutes.”
Han Nan rolled his eyes in disgust. He thought that he was the only useful man in the team. Although he was unwilling, he still walked at the front. He was very unhappy when he heard Yu Guang, who was hiding behind, giving orders.
“Don’t dawdle. Let’s go,” Lucia reminded him.
The four of them maintained the three-ring-one formation, like a tortoise moving its house. They walked with extra caution with every step.
Finally, they reached the place where Yu Guang pointed. The three of them were already drenched in sweat. Han Nan sat down under a tree and shook off his clothes to cool down, while Cui Anyu and Lucia supported their legs and did not sit on the ground no matter how tired they were.
Only Yu Guang seemed to be relaxed. His face was not red, and he was not panting. His footsteps were quite brisk.
While the three of them were resting, he walked into the grass and brushed the weeds with his feet. In front of their curious gazes, he picked up a shovel from the pile of grass and walked to the empty space where the fugitives were buried. He did not say anything and just started digging. After all, the place was not deep.
Lucia covered her mouth and said in surprise, “How did he know that there was a shovel in that place? Could it be that he really buried those people?”
“Hehe, it’s too early to make a conclusion. Let’s wait for him to dig them out first.” Han Nan mocked while shaking his clothes. He was a little chubby and was the person who was most afraid of the heat.
At this moment, Yu Guang had already finished digging. “I found them. Come over quickly.”
“No way!”
“So fast?”
“Even earthworms hide deeper than that!”
Han Nan jumped up from the ground and ran to Yu Guang. He suddenly froze on the spot. Cui Anyu and Lucia walked over with a mixture of confusion and calmness. Their expressions were the same as Han Nan’s.
There was a transparent ice sheet on the ground. Under the ice sheet was a two-meter-deep pit. Two men with fierce expressions maintained a strange posture and were looking up at Yu Guang.
The two men had tears in their eyes. Seeing Yu Guang was like seeing a living bodhisattva.
“My lord night watchman, you’re finally here! Quick, dig us out!”
“Help, I’m about to pee my pants. My lord, please move faster. Please, I’d rather go to
jail!”
As the two men wailed, Yu Guang smashed the ice sheet on the surface with a shovel. In an instant, the shattered ice pieces fell to the bottom of the pit like stars.
“You really buried them!” Han Nan cried out in disbelief. He no longer had to worry about controlling the volume of his voice.
He had countless questions in his mind. Did Yu Guang catch those two here on the mountain, or were they seriously injured before Yu Guang caught them? Regardless, this proved that Yu Guang seemed more like the bad guy than these two.
Yu Guang used the simplest words to describe the truth. It was a physical burial!
While Han Nan stood rooted to the ground in shock, Yu Guang pulled the two ice sculptures out of the pit. Since the two of them were too noisy, he sealed their mouths again.
He stood beside the ice sculptures, clapping his hands as he introduced, “Two level-three C-rank guys, Old Fan and Fatty Qiu. One is a hermit, and the other is a guard.”
When Cui Anyu heard his accurate description of them, she frowned slightly. “You’ve fought with them?”
Yu Guang nodded, confirming her guess.
Lucia and Han Nan sucked in a breath of cold air at the same time. He was a beastmaster without subdued beasts. How could he win against two experienced level-three C beastmasters without help?
Han Nan turned to look at the two frozen men in disbelief. They looked at Yu Guang with hatred and fear in their eyes. It was likely that Yu Guang had really captured the two of them. But what evidence could prove that they were vicious fugitives?
Although he was surprised, he was still skeptical of Yu Guang.
“Let’s inform the chief to confirm their identities first.” Han Nan reminded Cui Anyu that some things still needed evidence. It was impossible for Yu Guang to just say whatever he wanted.
“Okay, I’ll contact the chief right away.” Before they left, Xie Heji gave Cui Anyu a phone number and told her to call them if anything happened to her. Thus, she dialed the number of the Awakened Home.
While Cui Anyu was calling, Han Nan walked to Yu Guang’s side. His plump arms rested on Yu Guang’s shoulders, and the tip of his toes tapped on the crushed ice on the ground as he said, “Brother, did you do all this ice? Aren’t you a beastmaster?”
“Yeah, I’m a beastmaster.” Yu Guang nodded without any hesitation.
“Then why is your skill so similar to Cui Anyu’s? What’s your relationship with her?” Han Nan rubbed his chin, squinting as he interrogated him.
