Seeker of First Light - Chapter 27
Chapter 27
‘And in the old days… you know that… the Lord of the Divine Realm…’
The fairies muffled their voices as they spoke. She couldn’t really hear them this time, but she thought she knew what they were talking about.
Chryselua deliberately turned her head away and thought of something else. After a while, the fairies raised their faces again and let go of their lively expressions, leaving rather serious expressions. With that expression, it was the same as the high-honored Skylte Guards in her dream.
“…Well, twilight. I think we need to discuss that further.”
Even thinking about it, they came to an obvious conclusion.
“Well, alright. Anyway, take me or my person’s side for once. It’s a promise.”
“Yes, understood!”
The tension was finally relieved, and Chryselua smiled.
‘I was worried for no reason.’
She couldn’t imagine that the terrifying guys she saw in her dream were actually idiots.
Besides, Axen Arc should have no worries. He was a fairly high-ranking devilkin that he was living safely in Sedition. The concentration of magic she received from him the other day was also quite heavy. There was no way a guy like that could be beaten by these idiots.
Then, in the end, that reluctant dream was not the future she had seen through Dawn’s power. She felt much more at ease.
It couldn’t be helped that these trainees are already not on good terms with Axen Arc, at least it wouldn’t get worse in the future if she took a chance and stopped it.
And they were kind of cute. Perhaps because of the possibility of Chryselua being their superior, they started to pay more attention to her side as they became more embarrassed. She said she would sit on a bench while waiting for the ceremony, so they took out a handkerchief from somewhere and laid it down.
While Chryselua was passing the time talking to the Skylte’s trainees, the bell sounded, announcing the beginning of the ceremony.
Under the cloudless clear blue sky, a high white altar and the pure white Sedition buildings surrounded it. Even though Sedition had a long history, the buildings were never worn out. It was so beautiful that it made her eyes hurt.
It was a long time ago, before Sedition was even established.
There was a time when the dragons, the fairies’ parent trees, and the devilkins just fought without making any concessions.
Their purpose was only for themselves.
The one and only power that reigned over the world in order to monopolize God’s power, who could control the cause and effect of this world.
The three forces, which were neither pushed nor lagging behind, did not even unite to make sure of either side’s destruction. It was because of the ignorant monopoly that they all had. The war, which only hurts if they fight, seemed like it would never end.
Nonetheless, they had no choice but to stop fighting at some point. It was because a disaster more serious than a war between them began to emerge.
A phenomenon in which the world cracks and breaks.
Cracks with sharp, black shapes were formed in wide fields, on the sea, along the grain of clouds floating in the sky, or in empty air. Once formed, the crack gradually grew in size, and if it were not closed in a hurry, it would shatter the world.
Literally, nothing was left in the broken space. It had become an inaccessible wasteland.
As the three powers suffered significant damage to it, they could no longer take it lightly and they stopped fighting and shared the divine power they had fought to monopolize.
Dragons possessed the power of destruction and magic.
The parent tree had unchanging power and infinite vitality.
The devilkins had the power of preservation and the wisdom of the world.
The three forces, who obtained their own land, tried to close the ‘rift,’ a disaster that occurred in the world. In order not to forget the oath at the time, Sedition was built, and this ceremony was held every year. There were many things to say and many things to do, but in general, the purpose of Sedition was to protect the world.
With the sound of the trumpet announcing the start of the ceremony, the representative of the divine world first walked out from under the altar.
He was tall and had long, deep blue hair that looked like the dawn sky.
Naskandeolux, the dawn dragon, dressed in a pure white priestly robe with golden decorations hanging down, proudly walked on the white marble altar. Had there been no disruptions to the schedule, that was where Chryselua should have stood.
How many years has she worked hard at Sedition to be in that place?
Chryselua looked at him vaguely, unable to get intoxicated by the heightening atmosphere.
With the words announcing the start of the ceremony, Naskan reached out to the sky. The golden flame-like magical energy that was swimming around his entire hand shot up into the sky. The sky temporarily turned golden.
Just looking at it, admiration and cheers flowed from here and there, seeing the high concentration of magic. Chryselua also stared at him with his mouth open.
‘As expected of Dawn..’
She did not know how many magic potions she had to prepare for that one time.
How nice it would be if she could be genuinely happy. From her birth, Chryselua, who lacked magic, could not help but feel a sense of deprivation whenever she saw him.
‘You’re good…’
The ritual ceremony was a process of reproducing the old history in a simplified form. The three representatives engaged in a splendid duel that uplifted the viewer by shooting magic in all directions with all their might and ended with drinking alcohol prepared in the middle of the altar.
In fact, this was not the first time that Naskan was in charge of the ceremony.
During his brief stay in Sedition in the past, Naskan was always the head of the ceremonies. She had seen it at least once in the past. If she hadn’t had a relationship with him when he became her escort when she was young, she would have thought he was purely cool.
Naturally, there were many people who fell in love with Naskan.
It must have been a long time ago, so he might have forgotten, but he actually performed the ceremony perfectly with just a few days of practice.
This time Naskan stood there to fulfill her request, but watching it made her feel uncomfortable.
The dawn dragon, Naskandeolux, looked up at the sky and opened his mouth. It was a song that was one of the ceremony processes. A rich and clear bass sound flowed through the entire Sedition with magical power.
When the full-fledged line of the song started to come out, the representative of the spirit realm walked over to the altar.
You with a faint light. ]
It was Sol Noctis.
Sol Noctis, the representative of the spirit realm, wore a blue-colored uniform different from Naskan, the representative of the divine realm, and had ornaments made of twigs and flowers on his head.
The robes trailing at the ends of his arms and legs were replicas of the vines of the parent tree.
Although fairies were said to represent the spirit realm, in reality, all fairies stood as representatives of the parent tree. At this moment, Sol Noctis had the power of the parent tree. Conversely, if the person conducting the ceremony made a mistake, it became the parent tree’s mistake.
Serving as the representative of the ceremony was the final goal of the fairies who came to Sedition and received the rift mission. They steadily improved to become the ceremony’s representative, and if they proved their ability by doing it perfectly, the fairy could retire.
The burden of being obsessed with achievements and survival for the rest of their life disappeared.
However, the risk of making a mistake was also great. Since it would hurt the honor of the parent tree, even the slightest mistake during the ceremony would bring severe punishment
‘…But, there’s no way a perfectionist like him would make such a mistake.’
Sol Noctis walked to the center of the altar, looked up at the sky, and shot the next magic. The jade-blue magic of his blended with the magic that Naskan sent to the sky in advance to form a marbling color.
The Skylte guards right next to Chryselua… Each of the trainees clicked their tongue once. Their faces were all mixed with jealousy and envy.
You will be reborn as beautiful under care. ]
Next, it was the turn of one representative of the underworld, no, the representative of the devilkins in Sedition.
Chryselua, who was sitting on the best bench and watching the ceremony while sucking on candy, jumped up.
