Li Chun did not give much details about the store to Lu Wu. All he gave Lu Wu was the address and the contact person.
Which was also why Lu Wu was shocked when he stood in front of the store.
This was because the address that Li Chun gave him was not the address of an ordinary store. It was a store that sold items for summoned beasts called ‘Li Kai Summoner’s Grocery Store’.
In this society, it was an extremely difficult thing to own a store that was related to summoners. It was almost impossible for any ordinary person to do so.
At one point, Lu Wu even suspected that he might have walked to the wrong place. Lu Wu had to call the boss that he had never met in order to make sure that he was at the right place. Then, after confirming it with the boss, Lu Wu walked into the store.
As he stepped into the store, Lu Wu felt as if he had teleported into a gaming world.
Inside the store, there was a counter on the right side of the door, and on the left side, there was a huge storage space for large-sized summoned beasts.
When he went further inside, there were four two-by-two metres tall storage racks in the middle of the store that were filled with all sorts of weird and peculiar items.
There were crystals, bone pieces, herbs, fruits and even skulls.
Next to the shelves, on all the four walls of the store, there were four display cabinets that were filled with armour and weapons for humanoid summoned beasts.
The entire store had a magical feeling.
As Lu Wu was busy looking around the store, a man in his forties who was dressed in dirty clothes with his hair like a bird’s nest and eyes like a panda walked from the depths of the store.
That’s when Lu Wu realised that there was another door at the back of the store.
As the man walked out of the door, he took a good look at Lu Wu and when he saw Skeleton who was next to him, the man said: “You’re the boy that Li Chun introduced?”
“Yes, my name is Lu Wu. I look forward to working here!”
“My name is Li Kai and I own this store, which means that I’ll be your boss for the summer. Come here, I’ll brief you through your job!”
Li Kai went straight to the main topic and directly took Lu Wu on a tour.
“Your job is extremely simple. All you have to do is just watch the store and clean up the place. However, there are a lot of things here and you have to be very careful when you touch them. Each of them have to be cleaned differently and I’ll explain each one to you separately. Remember what I’ll be telling you now and just do as you’re told. Oh and also, hold on to this!”
Then, Li Chun threw a book at Lu Wu, and Lu Wu saw that it was a bill.
“The things that you need to know about all the items in the store are written there. The functions, prices and effects are all there. When the customers walk in, just try to deal with it. If you can’t, then you can call me. I will be inside the room over there.”
…
Li Kai took about half an hour to introduce and explain Lu Wu’s job scope.
“That’s all for now. Have you noted down all of it?”
Lu Wu nodded his head and said, “Yes!”
Li Kai curled his lips and did not believe that Lu Wu clearly remembered everything he had said.
For the past half an hour, Li Kai mentioned a long list of things, and he said it in such a random manner that even he himself did not necessarily remember what he said. Li Kai definitely couldn’t recall everything that he said, so why would he believe that Lu Wu could?
But, Li Kai didn’t say anything to Lu Wu.
This was just a very minor problem. For youngsters like him who just got exposed to the working world, it was expected of Lu Wu to lie and say that he remembered everything when he actually had nothing in his brains.
He’d just turn a blind eye for now and would correct Lu Wu in the future if any problem arose.
However, when Lu Wu started working, he was shocked.
He noticed that Lu Wu wasn’t lying. He remembered each and every single detail.
Lu Wu paid extra attention to all the details that Li Kai mentioned and cleaned all the places that he was told to.
Although Lu Wu’s actions looked a little awkward because he wasn’t used to doing all this cleaning, he didn’t make any mistakes.
Li Kai was extremely pleased when he saw what happened.
After observing Lu Wu for some time and making sure that there wouldn’t be much problem, Li Kai went to the room at the back of the store and directly headed for his bed.
He was exhausted!
He was experimenting for the entire night and didn’t get to sleep.
Since there was someone here to help him with the store, he finally got to rest.
As Li Kai went to the room, Lu Wu was left alone in the store.
Then, a bright smile slowly appeared on Lu Wu’s face.
This was because, in this store, he found another skill of his golden finger.
Lu Wu could also see the attributes of the items that were related to the summoned beasts.
This was something that Lu Wu realised when he touched one of the items on the shelf as he started cleaning the store.
However, this skill was not fully established yet.
Lu Wu went around testing the new skill he got. Although he could see the attribute bars of the items but most of them were incomplete as some of the columns had question marks following behind them.
For example, the skull that was placed on one of the shelves.
Since Lu Wu’s summoned beast was a skeleton, he became extremely interested.
Lu Wu placed his hands on the skull and its attributes popped out.
…
Item: Skeleton’s brain
Price: 500 yuan
Intro: Nothing special, only for display. It may have some therapeutic function. Please experiment with it on your own.
…
The attributes that the system showed were very vague.
The attributes of the other items were all like this. The introductions were very simple and most of them ended with the same phrase —’please experiment with it on your own’.
Lu Wu realised that the attributes that he could see were those that he already knew.
He knew the price, that’s why he could see the price on the attributes bar. The function was written on the shelf which is why it was shown in the attributes bar.
In conclusion, he would only see the ones that he already knew.
If there was something he didn’t know, then it wouldn’t show up on the attributes bar.
This was ever more extreme than the attribute bars of the summoned beasts.
Lu Wu almost spat out a mouthful of blood and despised the golden finger of his.
If he could only see the attributes that he already knew, why would he still need the golden finger?
What’s it for then? For record?
However, Lu Wu quickly calmed himself down.
Since he was already used to the bullsh*t from the system and he also saw the [Item Verification Function] that was on the attributes bar.
Lu Wu tried it again and realised that this skill could help him verify his guess on the function of the items.
Although he wouldn’t be able to know the complete attributes of the item, it could still help him explore the item’s attributes.
In other words, as long as Lu Wu could infer the attributes of the item, he could truly understand and master the items.
After figuring out how he could use his new cheat, Lu Wu took another good look around the store. This time, he didn’t look at them as merely items on a shelf. He looked at them as if they were questions in an exam.
“Since I have no books to study now, I shall study all of you then!”
