While thinking about it, Murphy realized that he had forgotten one very important thing.
The arrow that had been shot through the head of the leader of the Karazan Hurricane Pterodactyls!
So much had happened that night that Murphy had handed the corpse of the pterodactyl over to the high priestess to deal with because she was the only priest in the realm who could hear the oracle of Athena, the goddess of wisdom. Only she would know how to deal with the body of that huge pterodactyl.
Although Murphy knew that many parts of this dragon were valuable…
He also knew that many parts of a flying creature like this were poisonous.
Murphy tested the toughness of the dragon’s skin, and it was great protection against damage from heavy blows. He had used all his strength to strike the dragon and had only left a shallow white mark on its skin. But when it came to damage from punctures, its defense was still relatively average. A spear through with enough force could pierce a hole right through it. Because of the Karazan Hurricane Pterodactyl’s size, if the creature was used to make armor, Murphy believed it would be an elite defensive weapon.
As for dragon meat and dragon blood, Murphy had no intention of trying it.
According to what the high priestess said, these things could even be used as medicine. In the future, when the temple crafted some alchemy items, these could be used as raw materials. However, the precise way to use these things would only be known after the high priestess listened to the oracle of Athena, the goddess of wisdom. Right now, she could only find a way to store as much of these things as possible, just in case they were unexpectedly needed.
. . . . . . . . . . . .
Murphy gently opened the cabinet to the left of the desk and remembered that when he’d been handling the body of the Karazan Hurricane Pterodactyl the day before, the high priestess had quietly ordered for this box to be sent to him.
He was busy dealing with official documents at the time and hadn’t paid it much mind.
Now, Murphy had a good guess as to what was most likely inside the box.
. . . . . . . . . . . .
When he opened it…
Sure enough!
Inside was the silver-white arrow that had been shot into the Hurricane Pterodactyl’s skull.
The arrowhead was triangular in shape, and the body of the arrow was made from a special silver-white metal substance. The material was very strong, and an intricate pattern was carved into it. The pattern started at the arrow’s fletching and ended at the curve of the arrowhead.
it looked like a pattern from a certain story that was used to carry the power of the elements.
“From the looks of the arrow’s complicated pattern, this arrow obviously wasn’t made by humans,” Murphy thought to himself. He touched the heavy arrow in his hands. Not only the special material that had been used to make it, but the complicated carvings in the arrow’s shaft wasn’t something any ordinary person would be able to carve. Even if it had been done using the technology humans had in the future, carving such a complicated pattern on the arrow wouldn’t be easy to do.
As most everyone knows, arrows are consumables.
Under normal circumstances, an arrow could only be reused a limited number of times!
At the very least, you wouldn’t expect to shoot someone with an arrow, and then for that person to pull it out and give it to you to use it again and take another shot.
It was just a consumable, yet such painstaking effort had gone into making it!
The information hidden in this detail alone was enough for Murphy to make many associations and connections.
And after making these connections, Murphy believed that the person who had saved him that day was most likely an elf!
Because only a legendary creature like that would expend so much effort to create a consumable item like an arrow.
In fact, Murphy was right.
Only, what he had been unable to guess was that the silver-white arrow in his hand had been a difficult thing for even a high elf to make!
. . . . . . . . . . . .
Just as Murphy was carefully studying the silver-white arrow, a tall figure in a gray-black cloak was coming toward the Governor’s Mansion.
As a high elf, Rose Tyland Moonwalker had always been careful to keep her distance from humans.
Because based on the high elves’ oracles, the human creatures had the ability to corrupt the souls of other creatures!
In fact, as one of the moonwalkers, she had always been wandering around the continent to collaborate with druids and find clues of ancient Earthly teachings.
She had only rescued the human because it had been convenient for her to do so. It could be called an act of kindness, goodwill, and compassion, but losing a [Mithril Armor Piercing Arrow] was a loss even a high elf like herself couldn’t afford!
Even the most elite moonwalkers amongst the high elves wouldn’t have more than three of such arrows.
So she had to find a way to retrieve that Mithril Armor Piercing Arrow from Murphy’s hands!
In fact, Rose Tyland didn’t tolerate stealing, and Murphy had stolen something that belonged to her!
It was very impolite to interrupt someone’s dreams, even if you had good reason for waking them up.
As members of a race with the longest life span, high elves had the same sleeping habits as dragons.
So, for a high elf, dormancy was an essential part of life!
This strong and fearless man with extraordinary courage had earned a little appreciation from Rose Tyland. At least in her eyes, this leader was much stronger than the nobles of other human settlements!
At least he was willing to fight for his people until the end!
Just this alone was a rare occurrence, even amongst the high elves.
Therefore, she chose not to disturb the tired Murphy from his dreams, and she left just as quietly as she had come.
As a moonwalker, Rose Tyland didn’t stay in one place for too long, and a gut feeling told her that chaos was brewing in the Karazan Mountains. The moonwalkers were protectors of the high elf druids, who believed in the [Teachings of the Earth]. They were empowered by both Mother Earth and the Goddess of the Moon. As ancient druids who were believers of the [Teachings of the Earth], moonwalkers also bore the responsibility of maintaining the balance of nature!
They wandered around the earth and looked for clues of the [Teachings of the Earth].
And restored the natural balance that had been destroyed by those who had been overly ambitious.
Nature’s enemies were the moonwalkers’ enemies.
In fact, moonwalkers weren’t very well-liked.
Even by other elves.
Because in the eyes of all other creatures, high elves were an ancient and stubborn race! Their worldview had been decided before they were born, and no one could ever change their minds.
Therefore, even in the eyes of non-pureblood elves, such as the current grassland and wood elves, high elves weren’t a race that was very well-received.
Rose Tyland had to retrieve the [Mithril Armor Piercing Arrow] at all costs as soon as she could, because she felt that the longer she waited, the more the chaos in the Karazan Mountains would destroy the natural order of things.
After all, ordinary creatures couldn’t withstand the Karazan Hurricane Pterodactyls, who were full of murderous intent.
In the ancient [Teachings of the Earth] from the high elves, the oracle had once told people that when nature lost its balance, the earth would crack open, and lava would spread all over the land. The disturbance would cause a horrible tsunami that would drown many living creatures…
