Super Elation Under the Sun - Chapter 47
Chapter 47 A Teenager Who Liked Drinking
Anybody else who said that there was too much water mixed in the wine in front of the shopkeeper would be kicked out of the tavern, but this middle-aged woman wasn’t angry. She just chuckled, “Only you said so these years, sir.”
Li Fuyao looked steadily forward and didn’t give a glance at the middle-aged woman’s plump breasts that she showed purposely. After drinking a bowl of wine, he stated in a low voice, “It must be because you have only three customers in this tavern these years, Lady.”
The middle-aged woman was surprised and then laughed, “Sir, this joke is not funny.”
Li Fuyao stopped talking and just drank.
The middle-aged woman just looked at him several times in astonishment and then ignored this weird customer. She turned around and returned to the counter. Then surprise on her face was replaced with excitement as she saw customers again in the tavern.
Qing Huai sat at the table for about eight minutes and found that the heavy rain wouldn’t stop soon, so she gulped down the bowl of wine in front of her, thinking that it tasted good seemingly. Then the genius girl from the demonic land dragged the wine pot over and drank one after another bowl, as if the wine mixed with water was really water.
Li Fuyao smacked his lips and looked at Qing Huai drinking in this way. He couldn’t help but sigh, “If the elder who made the wine is still alive, he would rebuke you after seeing you waste it.”
Qing Huai whose face was red after she drank a lot talked more, “Nobody dares to rebuke me except for my father.”
Li Fuyao asked in surprise, “What about your mother?”
Qing Huai laughed, “My mother never rebukes me.”
Li Fuyao felt a headache.
Looking at Qing Huai finishing the last bowl of rice wine from the pot, Li Fuyao stared at the shopkeeper helplessly.
The middle-aged woman took out another pot of wine from the counter and asked, “Sir, would you like more?”
Li Fuyao turned to the girl who was shaking and sighed, “No more.”
The middle-aged woman put the wine pot back and rested her chin on her hand on the counter. She looked at Li Fuyao and asked with a bright smile, “Sir, you carry half a machete on your back, so you must be a powerful hero with a knife. In the novels, the heroes always bring broken knives or swords, so you must be one of them, right?”
Li Fuyao replied seriously, “In fact, I am a swordsman.”
A swordsman was totally different from a hero as she said.
A hero was just a warrior, but a swordsman was a cultivator.
The middle-aged woman joked, “I haven’t seen a swordsman with a machete on his back.”
Li Fuyao pointed at his nose, “Isn’t it here?”
“Sir, you are a good talker.” The middle-aged woman smiled at Li Fuyao.
Li Fuyao had no wine to drink and glanced at Qing Huai who had fallen asleep over the table. Then he looked at the heavy rain outside, thinking that the sleeping pills in the wine couldn’t poison her, but why did she fall asleep? Was she really drunk?
The rain didn’t stop and Li Fuyao felt bored, so he thought about the moving trend of the vital energy in his meridians, wondering what would happen if the sword Qi stabbed the meridians when it wandered inside after it turned from the vital energy. After all, the swordsmen were different from the other cultivators. After they entered the Sword Qi Stage from the Focus Stage, the vital energy all over the body would start with the heart and turn into sword Qi. The sword Qi was a swordsman’s foundation to ensure that the swordsman was almost invincible when he had a close combat with a cultivator at the same stage.
To put it plainly, the sword Qi was more powerful than the vital energy of the other cultivator.
There was no sound in the tavern except for the old Confucian scholar’s snore, but the sound of hooves could be heard from outside.
It came constantly and densely.
Nobody at the north border of Yanling except the North Military Government could transfer so many cavalrymen. But it was unusual that such a cavalry from the north border where there was no war for a long time left the border and came to wander in the inland area. Moreover, the cavalrymen who left the military camp in such weather cannot be patrol at the border commonly.
Hearing the approaching sound of hooves, Li Fuyao could be sure that these cavalrymen came to this tavern.
He calmly looked at the middle-aged woman who turned pale all of a sudden.
The middle-aged woman pretended calm and smiled apologetically, “Sir, I wanted to make you sleep with the sleeping pills so that you won’t see what would happen next, but unexpectedly, you have so powerful martial skills and can be sober after drinking so much. Then I’m sorry that I have to knock you out later. Otherwise, there must be trouble if you see what will happen.”
Li Fuyao shook his head with a smile and pointed to that sleeping old Confucian scholar, “Lady, why don’t you take care of him? The old gentleman must have woken up.”
The middle-aged woman turned to the old guy snoring and replied in surprise, “Sir, you must be joking again.”
Li Fuyao didn’t express his opinion but slowly took the broken machete off his back and responded with a smile, “If it’s your personal affair, Lady, just ignore me. I am going to cross the border of Yanling and go to Dayu soon. If I offend the people from the government, they will probably let me go after I leave Yanling. If either side of you takes actions against us later, I will certainly help the other side.”
The middle-aged woman looked doubtful but didn’t speak.
Outside the tavern, in the heavy rain, a troop of cavalrymen stopped the horses and stood still. In the front was a middle-aged man with whiskers in armor. He looked at a thin man who did nothing but made the rain split from the top of his head, asking in a low voice, “Mr. Liang, it this the right place?”
The thin man called Mr. Liang sniffled and asked with a smile, “The demon Qi is the strongest here. Where can it be except here?”
The middle-aged man who looked ferocious got the accurate answer and didn’t ask more. He patted the horse and walked out for several steps before announcing loudly, “The North Military Government at the north border of Yanling is handling a case. Anybody irrelevant should get out of here immediately. Otherwise, if people from Yanling are injured under the blind swords when the soldiers from the government come in to fight later, they shouldn’t complain.”
After he finished his words, nobody came out of the tavern. The middle-aged man laughed with self-mockery. “Right. How could anybody come to such a tavern? Even if there are some people inside, they must have been swallowed by the demon.”
Then he waved his hand. Dozens of cavalrymen on horseback in a row had the bow and arrow in hands aiming at the tavern.
Later, dozens of arrows were shot at the same time.
They passed through the door and windows and flew into the tavern with the strong wind.
As soon as they shot the arrows, they started the next round. After they shot five times, Mr. Liang stood up and walked in the heavy rain.
When he came to the door, he whispered with a smile, “Isn’t it great to leave such a treasure to me?”
While at this time, the barehanded teenager stood in front of the wine pots and grabbed those arrows because he felt sad for the wine pots which would be broken by the arrows. After the arrows stopped, this teenager with arrows filling his hands threw away all of them angrily and then picked up a pot of wine, speaking to the shopkeeper who was in a trance, “This pot of wine is the reward to me.”
So when Mr. Liang stepped into the tavern, he saw a teenage boy who still drank wine by the table at leisure when there were arrows everywhere around him and two drunk customers were sleeping over the table next to him.
In his eyes, such a scene is really absurd.
