Super Elation Under the Sun - Chapter 58
Chapter 58 Nobody Has Come to this Mountain in the Past Ten Years
The huge tortoise was trapped on the lake surface indirectly, and when it wanted to retreat at last, it couldn’t escape, so it was killed by Li Fuyao. Then Li Fuyao got the chance to enter the second stage of swordsmen. The man under the lake thought this thing came to a successful issue, so after the huge tortoise died, he didn’t stay here but returned to the great river where he had been. As for the huge tortoise’s carcass, it was useful, but since Li Fuyao had said that he would give it to the boatman, the man wouldn’t want to grab it. After he went back to his domain, if nothing else, as he planned, he would travel around the rivers within an area of one thousand miles these days and deliverer his decision, in case that there was something wrong.
After this fish demon who could be called the top one in the rivers within one thousand miles left here, three people walked out of a shabby temple on the top of Menchen Mountain.
The shabby temple was really broken, but anybody knew that it was almost impossible that there were Buddhist buildings under Sword Mountain, so although it was a temple, there was nothing about Buddhism inside.
And the three people couldn’t be Buddhist monks.
The man who walked ahead was dressed in cyan clothes with a long sword with no sheath on his waist. The sword blade was cyan, like the wild grass in spring. In fact, this long sword was named Wild Grass. The man with Wild Grass on his waist looked ordinary. After he walked out of the shabby temple, he looked at the foot of Menchen Mountain under the cloud and fog and kept silent.
The second one who came out of the temple was a heroic woman wearing grey clothes with her hair in a bun randomly fastened by a wooden hair clasp. She also had a long sword on her waist, but this was a snow-white sword with a sheath. The woman looked indifferent. She knew that there was a person under the mountain, but she still didn’t lower her head to have a look. She just looked ahead and even raised her head slightly.
The last one was a man dressed in ordinary grey clothes, but was good-looking. It was safe to say that he was handsome and unrestrained. He had a short sword covered with a black sheath on his waist. After he walked out of the temple, this man smiled and asked the two next to him, “How many years have passed since the last one climbed the mountain?”
The man in cyan who looked ordinary replied in a low voice, “Ten years. Nobody has climbed the mountain in the past ten years. However, Xian, if you had stabbed that tortoise with the sword, I think it’s uncertain whether there are some people who can reach the mountaintop, but at least many people would have climbed the mountain in the past ten years.”
The man in cyan spoke politely, but the female swordsman in grey was not so euphemistic. She stated coldly, “Xian Chunan, because of your benevolence those years, no new disciple has climbed Sword Mountain in the past ten years. Don’t you feel guilty?”
After a moment’s silence, Xian Chunan responded softly, “Xie Lu, even if I feel guilty, I won’t compete with you on swordsmanship.”
With only a few simple words, Xian Chunan saw through Xie Lu. The man in cyan showed a thumbs-up sign in the distance and praised, “Xian, you deserve to be the Number One Scholar in Dayu. You are really intelligent. I admire you.”
Xie Lu who always fought more than speaking didn’t say more. After she turned her head, she unsheathed the long sword from her waist. This long sword named Light Snow showed more sword Qi instantly, and there was much sword intent at the gate of the shabby temple. The sword tip of Light Snow pointed to the man in cyan in the distance, and Xie Lu gritted her teeth. “Liu Yibai, do you really think your Wild Grass surpasses my Light Snow in rank on the mountain?”
She said with much provocation. If others said that to Liu Yibai, he would wave his sword to stab without demur, but this woman in front of him was his junior sister apprentice and his old friend who had stayed with him all the time for one hundred years. How could he fight against her at will? Looking at Light Snow which was a little inferior to Wild Grass on the ranking list of swords pointing to him, Liu Yibai begged for mercy. “Heroine, you are the number one in the world. You are the only female Sword Immortal. How would you bother to stab me?”
Xie Lu withdrew the sword Qi and sheathed Light Snow. Then she snorted and stopped talking.
Liu Yibai furrowed his brows. He wasn’t afraid of fighting against this junior apprentice who focused on swordsmanship, but they had no great difference in the stage. Although he was a little more powerful, if he wanted to defeat her, it would be decided after one thousand rounds in one day and night. This lady would get more excited while fighting, but Liu Yibai couldn’t insist. More importantly, after this fight, she wouldn’t give up but would start the second fight or the third till she defeated him one day. So Liu Yibai often talked about three things that he feared, and the first one was competing with Xie Lu on swordsmanship.
The swordsmen in the human world always disdained to intentionally let the opponent win.
Xian Chunan was always a gentleman. Nobody knew why he didn’t become an official in Dayu after he was selected as the Number One Scholar but came to Sword Mountain to practice swordsmanship. However, he just practiced swordsmanship and never agreed to compete with Xie Lu on swordsmanship every time she suggested. Nobody could make him unsheathe his short sword, Hidden Fish, with the reason of competing. But Liu Yibai knew that this senior fellow apprentice had a solid foundation of swordsmanship. Xian Chunan had stayed in the Sword Qi Stage for ten years in order to thoroughly study the meaning of sword Qi. Later he broke through naturally and crossed the Fundamental Stage, Sanctification Stage and Dawning Stage peacefully within fifty years without difficulty. Liu Yibai just didn’t know whether Xian Chunan had finished the Dawning Stage and entered the Revelation Stage.
If Xian Chunan entered the Revelation Stage, he would be one of the rare powerful masters in this human world. With swordsmen’s peerless fighting capability, if they were at the Revelation Stage, they could even be matched against the cultivators at the Ascending Stage from the three religious sects.
And if they fought against the cultivators at the same stage, they would be invincible undoubtedly.
But the endless magic tools of the cultivators from the three religious sects made swordsmen dread.
Anyway, the cultivators never dared to get close to the swordsmen.
Xian Chunan looked down and stated with a smile, “No swordsman has climbed the mountain in the past ten years, but it is not my plan. When Sword Immortal Chao explained swordsmanship on Sword Mountain, he was angry at the current situation on this mountain. Many people climbed the mountain, but few could reach the mountaintop, so when he left here, he kept a wisp of sword Qi on Menchen Mountain. In fact, no matter if that tortoise is there, not many people can cross Menchen Mountain.”
Liu Yibai asked with a frown, “Sword Immortal Chao left a wisp of sword Qi on Menchen Mountain, and then who can come to the foot of Sword Mountain from that mountain?”
Xian Chunan smiled bitterly and kept quiet.
Xie Lu asked coldly as always, “Why does Chao Qingqiu interfere in the matter of Sword Mountain?”
Xian Chunan turned his head and expressed with seriousness rarely, “Xie Lu, even the masters on the mountain would speak to Sword Mountain Chao with caution. You shouldn’t have spoken impolitely.”
Xie Lu snorted. “He is just a swordsman who doesn’t stay on the mountain. If he really considers for Sword Mountain, why doesn’t he stay here and give instructions to the swordsmen?”
Xian Chunan shook his head. “Sword Immortal Chao doesn’t owe us.”
All people in the human world knew that Sword Mountain was the last place to pass down swordsmanship. The war six thousand years ago made all the Sword Immortals die on the battlefield, and later the swordsman sects everywhere had few attainments. Now only Sword Mountain was left as the last place, but nobody knew that although this Sword Mountain was the place to pass down swordsmanship, few of the swordsmen who had climbed the mountain stayed here. The swordsmen on the mountain gave instructions to the followers, and the others left the mountain to help the people who suffered from injustice. Chao Qingqiu was the only Sword Immortal in the human world, so no matter if he stayed on Sword Mountain or travelled around the world, nobody could comment on him. Xie Lu said that just because an old story on Sword Mountain made her determined to be the second Sword Immortal and the first female Sword Immortal in these six thousand years and she didn’t like Chao Qingqiu.
Xian Chunan stated peacefully at last, “Just wait and see. If that teenager can cross Menchen Mountain and come to this shabby temple, he would be the first one who qualifies to climb the mountain since ten years ago, but that sword stair on the mountain would probably be more powerful than the sword Qi left by Sword Immortal Chao. It is uncertain if he can reach the mountaintop.”
Xie Lu turned around and went back to the shabby temple silently.
Meanwhile, Liu Yibai pressed the handle of the long sword Wild Grass on his waist and expressed with a smile, “Xian, if this teenager can climb the mountain successfully, can you let him be my disciple? I can give this sword Wild Grass to him.”
Xian Chunan asked while smiling, “Aren’t you afraid of Xie Lu?”
Liu Yibai turned pale with fear. “What? She also likes that teenager?”
Xian Chunan tilted his head and pondered. After quite a while, he said in a tone like somebody, “I, Xie Lu, will become not only a Sword Immortal but also the most famous teacher on swordsmanship in this human world.”
The corners of Liu Yibai’s mouth twitched, and he looked weird. After a moment, he turned to go back to the temple without saying anything.
Xian Chunan stopped looking at the foot of the mountain as he couldn’t decide if others could climb the mountain smoothly.
But from the bottom of his heart, he hoped that teenage boy could climb Sword Mountain step by step. After all, they hadn’t seen new comers on this mountain for a long time.
That teenage boy who had no sword met a man in white on the stone stairs of Menchen Mountain.
