Chapter 329: Great Forest (3)
Fortunately, the Goard didn’t seem to notice Gorun who was up on the tree.
‘I will die if I get caught!’
Soon, the Goards gave up searching and disappeared. After a while had passed, Gorun sighed in relief. That’s when something wet dropped on his forehead. Gorun looked up and froze.
A Goard was grabbing the branches above him,and its drool was what fell on his forehead as it stared down silently at him. Gorun was so terrified that he couldn’t even move. The Goard’s lips turned into a smile and it extended its arm towards Gorun.
‘It’s over.’
That was the only thing that came to Gorun’s mind.
“Hey, you want to die or something?!”
Gorun was shocked; the Goard’s arm that was reaching out for him dropped as blood splattered on him. There were arrows. Arrows flew towards the Goard’s head, body, and legs, killing it immediately as well as pinning it to the tree.
The Goard’s head was cut off. It wasn’t fully grown, but it was still big.
“These are annoying.”
Jinpok frowned as he cleaned the blood off his axe. Graham shook his head. The man that introduced himself as Bolec was fearful of Jinpok. Bolec had all sorts of scars over his body and seemed like an experienced mercenary. However, he seemed to be terrified of something… or someone.
‘A-annoying? That’s it?!’
Gorun, their newest member, was shocked. Goards were terrifying monsters. Not even the goblins would dare to enter any region with Goards around. Gorun remembered the moment he was rescued. It was an amazing moment when an arrow saved him from death.
‘Dammit, that Ainos is like from a fairytale.’
Gorun then turned to the old guide, Graham. Gorun had heard his name many times before. Graham knew the Great Forest inside out. He was old, but he was a good guide and could tell where monsters were as well as how to easily avoid them.
Gorun then turned to the young man named Joonbum.
‘He shares the same name as the Emperor.’
Gorun then realized the large man Jinpok and the Ainos Doral also shared the same names as the top figures of the Empire.
‘There’s no way such young people would be the Emperor and Commander of the Empire.’
Those people of the Empire were known to be over forty years old. However, these mercenaries were just too young.
‘Well, there are a lot of people who name themselves after the great savior and hero,’ Gorun thought.
‘But they are strong, so they do fit the names.’
“It’s time that we move,” Graham declared and the man named Bolec quickly moved and picked up the sack on the ground.
