At eight a.m., Xia Yu logged onto An Siyao’s body.
The back of a seat appeared before his eyes.
It was a seat in a car. He was inside a car right now.
The driver was a man in a suit. He wore sunglasses. Xia Yu looked outside and found they were still in the city.
So he wasn’t kidnapped.
As Xia Yu was observing everything, An Siyao’s voice came. “You’re back!”
“Yeah.” Xia Yu felt a little sheepish. He was prepared for the girl’s scolding.
But the girl didn’t mention his absence. She talked to Xia Yu about what was happening.
“We’re on our way to school. There’s no way to play the piano at school. Should I take the day off?” An Siyao had not tried to ask for a day off yet, but it should be okay.
With the driver right in front of him, Xia Yu didn’t want to say anything. He took out his phone to type his answer.
“It’s ok. We’ll just see your school.”
Though he does want to finish piano-learning as quickly as possible, he didn’t want to make trouble for the girl.
It was mostly because they’ve gotten to know each other now, so it feels weird to take advantage of her.
“OK,” An Siyao replied.
“Um. Yesterday I had to do something, so I didn’t show up here,” Xia Yu explained.
“Oh,” the girl answered faintly. Then, she stayed silent.
Just when Xia Yu thought he had fixed the crisis and was checking out the sights outside, he heard An Siyao’s soft cries.
“You have lost interest in my body!”
“???”
“No, no, no!” Xia Yu typed on his phone.
An Siyao didn’t answer, and he didn’t know if she read what he wrote on the phone.
After agonizing for two seconds, Xia Yu put his phone near his ear. “I have not.”
“Then last night and the night before, were you with someone else’s body?” The girl was so sad she said something she’d not normally say.
“I wasn’t with someone else’s body!” Xia Yu denied it fiercely. He was with a cat.
“Even if you’re not with others’ bodies, you don’t want to be with my body?” An Siyao seemed even more upset.
What kind of logic is this?
“I was going to be with your body. I just ran into some problems last night and the night before,” Xia Yu replied.
“But you were with me before and then you didn’t show up.” With Xia Yu’s explanation, the girl seemed a little calmer, but she was still doubtful.
“I still have to adjust my ritual and equipment, right? Everything works at first, but there are issues after a while.” Xia Yu tried to blame it on witchcraft.
“Can you be with other people’s bodies?” An Siyao asked.
After some pondering, Xia Yu answered. “Yes.”
An Siyao was quiet again, then she asked, “Can you only use my body?”
“What your body has, other people do too.” Xia Yu could feel the high expectations the girl had for him, so he tried to downplay them.
“I understand.”
The girl was completely silent for the rest of the drive. It seemed like this crisis was over.
At the entrance of the school, the driver stopped the car, then went to the rear to open the door for Xia Yu.
After Xia Yu left the car, the driver drove the car away from the school entrance. He got out of the car and started smoking.
His hand holding the cigarette shook slightly.
What did he just hear?
Be with your body? Can only be with you? Adjusting things?
The young driver, who had started work a month ago, was shaken by what he heard.
Do rich people really live like this?
What kind of person is this angelic girl?
Maybe the last driver was fired because he overheard some things?
I would pretend I didn’t hear anything.
The driver finished smoking. He decided to pretend to be invisible and be a mute person.
At this moment, Xia Yu was walking toward the classroom with An Siyao’s help.
He looked around as he walked. This was indeed a school for rich girls. The trees and flowers may not have looked different from the ones in other schools, but each plant was carefully cultivated and stood as orderly as the army.
In contrast, the greenery at Xia Yu’s school resembled a refugee camp.
In the middle of the campus, Xia Yu ran into other students, one of whom walked with him.
“This is my classmate. Her name is Dan Liu,” An Siyao commented.
Classmate? Xia Yu turned to look at the female student, a young woman with shoulder-length hair. She was pretty in an average way and gave off a cold vibe.
As he glanced at the classmate, the classmate did the same with him.
An Siyao was sort of famous at school because of her looks. She was considered one of the two prettiest girls at school, her nickname: the Silent Princess.
If it was a regular student, she would have been excited to see An Siyao. Dan Liu, however, thought of herself as a mature grown-up. She wasn’t interested in princessy girls like these.
Was there something wrong with this princess today? Why was she staring at me? Why was her gaze invasive, like a guy’s?
“Morning.” Xia Yu greeted Dan Liu.
“Morning!” Dan Liu was a little flustered.
After the greeting, Xia Yu stopped looking at Dan Liu, making her feel relieved.
Dan Liu kept looking at her classmate. An Siyao’s gaze wasn’t evasive and gentle anymore, instead, she seemed aggressive and curious today.
An Siyao walked differently too; her steps went from a soft walk to big strides.
As if she saw something, An Siyao’s face showed a smirk, making Dan Liu’s heart beat faster.
Dan Liu was almost stunned, so her gaze was obvious. Xia Yu turned to look at her and asked, “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing!’ Dan Liu backed up a step. She was scared by Xia Yu’s attention.
With a red face, Dan Liu went into the classroom. After making sure Xia Yu wasn’t watching her, she went toward a girl with short hair.
An Siyao had a fan club. The short-haired girl was one of the members and helped run the club too.
“I want to join the club,” Dan Liu said.
The short-haired girl was surprised. “Didn’t you say you didn’t like weak girls like her?”
“An Siyao is not weak. You are mistaken.” After filling out her name on the club’s sign-up form, Dan Liu thought back to what happened and blushed.
Oblivious to the fact that he helped An Siyao gain a new fan, Xia Yu sat in class and learned with the rest of the girls.
Even though this was a girls’ school, there were some men here. The math teacher from the first period was a man in his 60s.
After three periods, Xia Yu stood up and walked toward the bathroom.
The bathrooms at this elite school were different too. If he closed the door and told a regular student this was a restaurant, they’d have believed him.
Xia Yu was familiar with the bathroom routine now. He finished using the bathroom, washed his hands, and walked back to class.
On the way, a girl, who was half-a-head shorter than him, walked with him.
As Xia Yu walked to the right to make room for her, the girl stepped toward him and blocked him again.
Xia Yu tried to give her room twice more, but the girl was still bothering him. He realized she was bullying him.
This was quite interesting.
