The Body Swap Game - Chapter 46
Chapter 46: Denials
As a crisp sound reverberated in the hall, the maid covered her face and leaned against the wall, staring at An Siyao with a stunned expression.
“Remember your status.” Dusting off where the maid had touched, Xia Yu kept walking.
Crossing the hall into the party hall, he noticed An Siyao’s step-mom right away.
She was a woman not much older than An Siyao. She had a plastic-surgery enhanced face and an enticing figure.
Her name was Luo Yali. She used to be An Tianfeng’s secretary.
A boy of around 10-years-old stood next to Luo Yali.
He was An Tianfeng’s son.
Xia Yu walked toward Luo Yali while holding the gift box.
A group of society ladies surrounded Luo Yali. They saw An Siyao from afar and talked about her before she reached them.
“Is that the first wife’s daughter?”
“Not liked by Mr. An. She can marry whomever.”
“Is she wearing something similar to Madam An?” Finally, someone noticed.
“Well, Madam An has more style.”
“How can a young girl copy that kind of sophistication?”
Luo Yali, smiling, listened to all the compliments said about her. As Xia Yu got closer, however, her smile disappeared.
Her society friends also stopped their kissing-up.
They finally saw An Siyao.
The young woman wore a simple nightgown in white. She walked steadily. Her face was expressionless, and her gaze was fierce.
When they saw An Siyao, it was as if they saw a tiger. They had only experienced the same with their stern husbands at home.
This was the effect of Scaring.
As the girl got closer, everyone could see her creamy complexion and exceptional figure showcased by the nightgown.
The society ladies knew how to kiss-up, but they knew when was too much. If An Siyao and Luo Yali weren’t that different, they could have lied effortlessly, but the glamorous An Siyao really outshined the ordinarily pretty Luo Yali.
It was also reflected in the nearby men’s gazes.
As Xia Yu passed by them, she glanced at them, and everyone dropped their gazes.
“Happy birthday.” Xia Yu handed the gift box to Luo Yali.
“Oh, thanks.” Luo Yali accepted the gift box nervously, which made her seem even flustered.
Before Luo Yali said anything, Xia Yu left and went toward the table with the food.
It took a while before the group of society ladies could recover.
“Madam An, your daughter is really special!” One woman marveled.
“Right. She could improve her manners.” Luo Yali tried to seem unaffected.
“She’s just a daughter. You gave a son to Mr. An.” The society ladies started chattering again around Luo Yali’s son.
Unlike them, Luo Yali was worried.
In the beginning, when she first became An Tianfeng’s wife, she spent some time ingratiating herself with An Siyao. She dropped her act after she had a son, so she knew An Siyao pretty well.
If she didn’t know that the girl didn’t have a twin sister, she’d never have believed that was An Siyao.
That girl had always been so docile and weak. How could she be this aggressive? And she wore a similar dress? Why didn’t the maid stop her?
Also, why didn’t she stay and let me talk after giving the gift?
She didn’t even call me mom!
Luo Yali felt uneasy. She looked toward An Siyao, only to see her happily talking to Jiao Heyu and his friends.
Luo Yali was only unsettled before, but now she was panicking. When did An Siyao get close to Jiao Heyu? What was she plotting?
Was she acting before? Was she trying to silently get close to Jiao Heyu and his friends, and control the young generation of the An Group?
Was she done preparing? Was she going to start a war now?
Girls from upper-class society were indeed really deceitful.
Luo Yali, from an impoverished family, was now busy with a conspiracy theory.
Xia Yu, unaware of the fright he gave Luo Yali, was eating party food and talking to Jiao Heyu and his friends.
One pastry was light, with a slight sweetness. At first, Xia Yu was not used to the taste, but after two pieces, he began to love them.
“This is great too.” Shen Xiaowen put another pastry into Xia Yu’s mouth.
“Why are you always eating dessert?” Jiao Heyu handed a plate with sausage to Xia Yu.
The other three people also shared their food.
Their behavior surprised all the guests.
Their thoughts were in line with what Luo Yali was thinking.
Luo Yali gave birth to An Tianfeng’s son, so normally, the son would inherit power. But if the An family’s daughter was close to children of the major stockholders, and she was a daughter from the first wife, who would be the inheritor of the An family?
The question only flickered in their mind. An Tianfeng was middle-aged, he was far from retirement age.
Some of the more paranoid people began to ask their children to join An Siyao’s circle, which made Luo Yali even more anxious.
Xia Yu felt annoyed by the commotion.
With all these new people, he couldn’t enjoy the delicious foods.
It was good that those people knew boundaries and didn’t bother him too much.
Before the party had ended, Xia Yu had already left the hall, after he tried all the party food.
Eight hours later, he returned to his own body.
It was now one a.m. He had gone over at 5 p.m.
He stretched and sat up. He checked his numbers.

Points in the game.
[4220]
“???”
After every game, there would be some words telling him about the gain in the game points. Xia Yu didn’t look too closely. He didn’t realize he had earned this much.
It was only around 380 two days ago. If it was one point per minute, with two days of playing, he should have 1340. How did he get twice as much?
Was it because of the street cart fight and the party?
As long as he experienced something, he could earn more points in the game?
Then why didn’t he earn points with Xu Youxiang’s near-death incident?
If it wasn’t because of events, then what was it?
There was not enough information to decide.
He put off the analysis for now.
It was already Friday. He had to see his mom in the evening, so he needed to use up his game hours earlier today.
An Siyao was flying back to Yaoguang City this afternoon, he could go have some more caviar with her.

Feng Yujia (touching An Siyao’s belly): Yaoyao, have you been eating too much lately?
An Siyao: No, I didn’t, it wasn’t me!
