When she recalled how Young Master had raged, Ling Chuxia’s eagerness was dampened. She had lost her motivation.
An earlier attempt had made him stay away for several months, and he ignored her when he was back home.
Now it was plainly obvious that Young Master’s anger had not subsided. If she risked it…the consequences would be disastrous and devastating!
Even if she hit a home-run, Young Master might throw her an ECP. That would be a fruitless outcome. Wouldn’t all her efforts have been squandered?
Or perhaps, he could contemplate more horrifying behaviors….
She was convinced that Young Master was capable of doing anything!
As such thoughts raced through her mind, Ling Chuxia’s mustered courage was lost. She made a quick turn and with her back against Shi Che, she closed her eyes in silence.
She had better drift off to slumberland than to pit her feebleness with a majestic tiger. As for her intention to start a family, she would devise other strategies.
After a minute, she inched unconsciously, slowly and painstakingly to turn to face Shi Che.
She opened her eyes and fixated her stare on Shi Che’s back.
It was not her intention to stay up late, it was not her desire to bell the cat, however… Young Master Shi rarely comes home. If he were to leave first thing in the morning and stay away for a couple of months, what would become of her?
If that happened, how could she have a baby with Shi Che?
If she failed to become pregnant, Mrs. Shi would not be forgiving. She might resort to replacing her without letting her know about her plans! There would be another Young Mistress in the Shi family.
Ling Chuxia broke into a sweat when she thought of herself being replaced. She would be mercilessly denounced as Shi Che’s spouse. Such dire consequences were insignificant when compared to the Young Master’s flames of fury.
Ling Chuxia swallowed hard and her anxiousness caused her palms to sweat. She took a few deep breaths continuously and rooted for her plan to succeed.
She recalled an unforgettable incident when her body was trembling profusely before she had made her move.
She worked fervently to control her fears and trembles as she nudged herself slowly and carefully. She disguised her deliberate moves towards Shi Che.
Every slight movement was analogous to walking a tightrope with trepidation. She might lose her footing and fall to her death.
Ling Chuxia clenched her fists subconsciously, her nails jabbed her palms, the tingling pain reminded her of her mission, her responsibility, she would not retreat due to mere fears.
When Ling Chuxia had finally reached behind Shi Che’s body, she felt like she had depleted every ounce of her energy to move the short distance.
At this instant, she dared not breathe heavily. She held her breath for fear that any slight movement would awaken Shi Che.
She lay there motionless, her big eyes staring at Shi Che’s back of the head for quite a long while. Suddenly she blinked as if she had made up her mind, and she opened her eyes with determination.
She took in a deep breath and subsequently reached out shakily to put her arms around Shi Che’s waist. She dared not apply any force, her arms merely caged around his trim slender waist gently.
That simple gesture had resulted in Ling Chuxia’s limbs stiffening and heart racing.
