Chapter 27- The Main Duty of the Student (5)
Really? But it is mandatory—some sort of classic rules. A good wizard must be adept at using different kinds of magic formulas until he can modify them beautifully to get a superior effect. If both wizards have activated their spell simultaneously, the one who is using a well-made mantra has doubled his magic force compared to the other one! The firing power has an incredibly superior effect.” Behemoth said.
“So Professor Zevedi didn’t shout a word [stop bleeding] but rather [stop the leak of life]?” Clayo asked.
“Undeniably, that was it. The magical name of the magic was within the stylish [stoppation]. And that’s how magic works.” Behemoth said.
“!!!”
Using the Memory cheat, Jeongjin recalled the time when he activated his defensive magic. There, he remembered that during that time, he was shouting words like, “Save Me,” “Save me.”
Was it already a mantra?
Furthermore, any wizard, like Zevedi’s [leakage of life], which was very useful, could also heal two persons at the same time by using a similar mantra.
“So, for example, if I want to activate defensive magic, I would just say [Save me] instead of [Guard me] [Guard me], right? Well, what could be better if I would say something more than this?”
“Of course!” the cat replied.
“Can I instead copy and use someone else’s mantra?”
“No way, it’s not recommendable to imitate someone’s mantra. However, you may want to change the order or composition by changing one word or the other to become your mantra version. Even in the past, the goddess who vested magic to humans was very strict in hymns and poetry. They had their mantra versions, which gave them magical powers. ”
“I’m excited!”
“You’re crazy.”
Isn’t it too much of the author’s perception? Whew, not all of them were the same. I should have gone to the department of Korean literature and not to the history department. It could have been more helpful here. ‘ He thought.

In the end, Clayo tried, but he couldn’t sleep, for the cat hit the back of his hand with its front paws every time he felt drowsy. Behemoth was adamant because he didn’t want a single mistake from his student. Eventually, the cat was filled with awe when it saw Clayo had memorized completely one chapter of the “Magic Dictionary,” which bought by the messenger just a few hours ago. Hence, Clayo has stayed up all night, being beaten continuously by the cat’s front and back feet. Nonetheless, it was a success.
“Kudos! You deserve to be my disciple. You have memorized the first volume of the “Magic Dictionary” in just one day, so all I have to do is upgrade the level of your ether. I want you to break up level 3 in the next four weeks. And then…”
“Oh, let’s just do this step by step.” The boy pleaded.
The light of dawn was coming. The tired cat and the weary young man who couldn’t even move their eyelids were laughing with each other like an idiot.
The next day, the boy woke up early. He was wearing his school uniform and strode towards a single direction, going to his classroom. When he arrived, being so soon, he felt dizzy and sleepy due to a lack of sleep. Then suddenly, he heard somebody from the back gossiping of an alleged suicide attempt of an unknown student. But he only ignored it, thinking it might be a sort of canard not worthy of his attention.
Surprisingly, Clayo evinced passion and motivation in his class than he did before. Then a moment later, the professor was starting to demonstrate and highlight some subjects of yesterday’s pre-study. But Clayo took it all with ease, not uneasy about comprehending. But on the latter part of the class, dean Jevedi, who had just finished two hours of magic-based lectures, made a bombshell announcement.
“Well, I’ll take a ten-minute break and give a magic test afterward. The topic is identifying a supernatural formula problem. I will give a perfect score if you can get ten correct answers from article 2 of Magic Dictionary and a perfect score if you can get three from Article 1. This exercise reflects 30 percent of your final exam. It is an ideal deal.
The professor’s announcement has roared the classroom. Most of the students were abashed, but only Arthur of Group 1 and Clayo of Group 2 were the ones who made the first show of their blank papers on their desks.
Behemoth, you’re such a clever bastard—a perfect company!
Clayo just hid his laughter under his palm and was constantly yawning on his mouth.
My investment of 600 dinars was indeed a successful one!
Not only was it easy to understand the contents, but he also answered all ten questions right of the pop quiz quickly. He filled it out while listening to the sighs of his classmates from all over the classroom.
‘Wow, even the manner and structure of the test is the same from Behemoth’s previous instructions. They are all derived from the four questions found in The Magic Dictionary.’
Soon, Arthur, who wrote his name and submitted a blank paper, left the classroom first. Then the second student who submitted was Nebo, who seemed to have given up the test and stormed up to his chair. Then the third was Clayo, who presented a packed of the exam paper and went back to his dormitory with a complacent look. Consequently, dean Jevedi kicked off his tongue, as if the dean was implying an idea that Clayo seemed to be a test-giver guy. But the boy, who was feeling detached, didn’t bother to care.
‘Just grade it later. Jeongjin thought.
