Chapter 28- The Main Duty of the Student (6)
The joy of taking the test was only ephemeral. A few hours after lunch and a good night’s moment seemed very short. For about 4 a.m., he woke up and reminded himself of teacher Ryuba’s word to go to school for volunteered work. Hence, a dark circle was reflecting down from his cheeks, as seen in the bathroom mirror.
Life is sweet and sometimes salty. But I know everything ends soon. It’s only a matter of time. I leave school for good and settle somewhere else more desirable. Jeongjin thought.
Then, the boy went to the library. Along the way, he saw some withered roses. There, he remembered that they were blooming and sprouting on the fence last week amid excellent weather. But today, he could feel it a bit different. He thought it was like a distant mile from previous years or a week before, when the time he had nothing to do except sleeping, playing, and living for the day’s sake.
When he arrived near the library, he saw Arthur standing there and waving at him at the entrance, unfortunately, Arthur turned away and felt embarrassed because Clayo didn’t respond to him. Then a few minutes later, the librarian came and took the two boys off to the warehouse, which was an annex building of the library. They have directed to clean the warehouse as part of their disciplinary action taken against them. They have to put away decades of waste prayer books and other waste materials. Consequently, Clayo’s expression was frowning while looking at the pile of books, of which, some dusty papers have amassed higher than him.
‘If I’ll move all of this sh*t with my energy, I’ll surely lie down sooner than expected. I think I’ll try to use [disassemble] should I use magic. Heck, I must learn magic the soonest possible!’
Whether Clayo was exhausted or not, he was murmuring and talking to himself alone.
“Cla.., are you not going to talk to me? Arthur said.
Instead of replying to Arthur, Clayo was just pretending he didn’t hear him. He only wore the gloves given by the librarian and started lifting a bundle of documents near him. Hence, Arthur took a ball and threw it closer to Clayo. It was very fast, a sort of which that was entirely analogous to a pitch in a baseball game.
“Why don’t you answer me?”
Arthur, with a smiling face and fiery eyes, was taking off his gloves and getting closer to Clayo. As a result, Clayo stepped back a few steps after seeing an imminent danger.
Are you trying to beat me with your gloves off for fear of bloodstains? Jeongjin thought.
In the previous version of the novel, Arthur had already reached the Dance of Ether- Level 4 at the age of seventeen, which was for intermediate prosecutors level only. At the same time, he was already a swordsman at Choi Jong High School. Thus, if he might hit an enemy during that time, his strikes would be fatal and leave a devastating state of injury.
Can I block his strike by using my defensive magic? But I can’t open the circle yet.’
In the blink of an eye, Arthur’s right hand popped up in front of Clayo and crouched his neck. Clayo could remember the blood he saw last week due to the failed execution of his “Editor’s Authority.”
“Am I going to hit you? Why are you so overreacting? I was the one who was bleeding. Look, I’ve got this!”
“What do you have? You’ve been healed already without a scratch.”
“Can’t you see this? Oh, I’m going crazy. It has faded already, but it still has marks. It’s what you have made, and it is supposed to be seen by you.”
“I didn’t do anything!”
“No, You did something. You just don’t know what you did that time, but this is solid evidence of what you did that day.”
No, it’s evidence of what you did!
Their conversation ignited a looming threat. Thus, Clayo’s “Promise,” which stuck in his left hand, was sparkling enough to be seen outside of his gloves. Then, he felt his heart pounding.
[Certificate Item: The Promise]
[—The user’s narrative intervention increases, thus, opening up the second phase of the ‘promise’ function.]
[—In-depth, “understanding” the components of the story.]
Clayo stumbled, for he was unable to handle the sudden influx of information. He could see the golden letters were floating at the back of Arthur’s right hand. It has a half-span pattern with complex signs that rose above Arthur’s hand.
Such a pattern has a small circle in the middle. It has doubled fan shape that was encompassing two-thirds above the ring and with long rectangular shape below it. It was from the unique metallic line at the back of Arthur’s hand, which looked like a shell at first glance. An apparent scar, similar to a round theater’s floor plan.
[Unique Skill: ‘Frontiers’

—It moves the user and the person whom the user prefers to from any events into the subspace.

That scar has a unique skill given to Arthur as a reward after clearing the “round theater” dungeon in the last version of the novel.
‘Why is it happening to Arthur now?’
